    I liked the dominoes leaning on the wall. It made the domino wall look curved. Btw I think this should be your new intro.

    • @Hevesh5
      @Hevesh5  4 роки тому +2

      The white board I used was a little flimsy so it bent the wall slightly. It’s probably better to do a trick like this on a more sturdy board.

    This style of video is really interesting, reminds me of those channels I was telling you about that do soothing narration over video of them making/building/doing something. Cool to see that applied to a domino project, and I'd love to see more videos in this style, maybe for bigger or more complicated projects. I was also surprised you didn't mention the decision to add the black "shadow" on the logo with black dominoes, some of which were supported by clear dominoes. Anyway, cool to see a video in such a different style, although I totally understand how hard these are to make. It requires a lot of footage and it can definitely hinder the creative process when you have to worry about filming every single movement you make. I tried doing something similar to this with machines, but gave up after half an hour because I was making no actual building process and I got so fed up with having to stop what I was doing to move the tripod and set up another shot.

    • @Hevesh5
      @Hevesh5  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the detailed comment, Lyle. Yeah I was reminded by what you said about those soothing narration videos when I was editing this together. I totally forgot to mention the shadow! I filmed the voiceover 2 years later narrating what I saw as I watched back the rough edit. We didn't get any shots of me building the shadow, so I guess that's why I missed it. I'm glad you like this type of style. I feel like I'm much more thorough and clear with explanations. Yeah making a video in this style can definitely be a lot of work. Having the film crew there to film me as I built was SO helpful. If I had to do this all on my own and keep moving the camera angles, it would be so much more difficult to actually get work done. I totally get that.

    It was nice to see the planning done before the build. Was the wall behind slightly curved?

    • @Hevesh5

      Yes, the white wall was slightly curved. It's a thin sheet of melamine that bends slightly.

    I found the way you started it by laying flat ones on the floor and then adding the next layer leaning against the board. I also enjoyed the detailed explanation of how to set up the string(s) to trigger the fall. I really liked seeing how you measured the string and WHY you set it up that way. The "why" of doing something really helps when you want to develop something new or even just try to duplicate something you have seen.

    I learned in this video that working hard can be pretty tough and tiring but in the end it can result to a beautiful work.
    I have a suggestion for your new intro. Use another domino colors like yellow and green, so it looks bright and tropical and apply a domino trick to it (any), but I agree in making the domino project, a new intro.
    Another great video by the way. 😁😁😁😁😁

  • @agerven
    @agerven 4 роки тому +1

    Thank you Lily!
    The things that struck me especially were the left and right edges and how you made them. There is another way but that's really tricky and what you do is nicely balanced and stable. Also i liked very much the dark gray or black dominoes in the white 5, giving it just that bit of depth with a little artificial shade.
    And if you feel you need a new intro, this one's cool!
