This is not how comp picks work. Many issues with how you think they are calculated. We can simply start with players that are cut are not factored into comp formula. Players have to be lost via free agency. Although there are many errors this is the first so ....

This is exactly what I thought when I heard they cut him. He's not great, but all the current Miami backups proved they're either terrible, or a bad fit. Jones MIGHT not be any better, but I can't imagine he's worse, so why not. Especially this year when he'd effectively be a free rental like Russ.

Mariota, Winston, Minshew, Mayfield, L.Jackson, Cousins, and many many more over the last couple seasons have been available for Miami to bring into the fold to start or back up, Tua is a talent, a brittle boned raddler of a QB, thats one hit away from our franchise being the laughable franchise its been for almost 2 decades… we cant build a team around a player this vulnerable, we dont have 10 seasons in Tua, draft or sign his replacement, if Tua can’t understand, hes already too brain damaged to continue. I know that statement is harsh, maybe cold, facts are Tua had an option of putting on the special padded helmet that MIGHT help protect him and this franchise from a catastrophic collapse and he didnt take it… my opinion has been altered by that decision, could it help? Not sure, but at this point, 3 concussions and how many losses when hes not out there, he should be doing everything possible to protect his self, hes not, so this franchise needs too protect itself and this fan base from Tua.
Rather have the dolphins draft a qb. We need a younger and healthier qb. We already have tua who's injury prone and now you guys want Danny dimes another injury prone. Heck no draft a toung qb and start fresh. Once grier gets fired then maybe we can see the dolphins get better with a new Gm with new vision for this team. Who knows also a new coach would be a better fit for us as well.

@@nayb9773 still better than our backup qbs
For a backup maybe; if not NO.
Tua will still be here as long as Mike is here .an honest I just read is going to Panthers
I wouldnt mind picking up D.D For a Mill
Fins up!
No Please !!! Don’t bring players with no commitment.
So we get him as a backup, he plays the rest of the year, we cut him before March 1st, We get a comp pick for him... he was a top 10 pick, with a huge contract. Kind of like when the Jets got one when we picked up Pat White. probably a higher pick than White...We get aa better backup and a draft pick.
This is not how comp picks work. Many issues with how you think they are calculated. We can simply start with players that are cut are not factored into comp formula. Players have to be lost via free agency. Although there are many errors this is the first so ....
if it wasn't so late in the season. I would say yes because he's cheap. but if we bring him in now. honestly. how long would it take for him to learn the offense. so, he really wouldn't be helpful until next season.
No
Just a big screw you to Tannehill then? If you watched Fin football this year you understand that another QB is a better one. Bc the way we played with our backups proved we just had a few practice squad players filling in for Tua. And in the wild fantasy that is sports, Tannehill could retire a Fin and if necessary have a Nick Foles type of return 😅
Not a good fit for this offense. I think he would be a good back up for Baker in Tampa.
This is exactly what I thought when I heard they cut him. He's not great, but all the current Miami backups proved they're either terrible, or a bad fit. Jones MIGHT not be any better, but I can't imagine he's worse, so why not. Especially this year when he'd effectively be a free rental like Russ.

@@nayb9773 All true. But he'd also be nearly free, and there's a chance in a new system with new players he does something.
We know for a fact that the backups in Miami suck. Skylar proved he's not the guy, and Huntley was awful and is clearly a bad system fit.
@@ElderGamerXHuntley is OUR QB2. He is soooo coachable. Tua going down and us having 3 QB TRYING TO emulate Tua’s performance was proven faulty. Playbook is tailored to Tua. Only reason Huntley didn’t do well. Also, please don’t forget Huntley gave us our first TD in 8 quarters.. TUA hasn’t scored a TD since 2022
@@nayb9773 Huntley had 2 games with under 100 yards and looked lost and terrible. How many more games would we have to lose while he figures it out? Because by the 3rd game he should have been looking better, not worse.
There's a reason the Ravens let this guy go despite being a decent fill for Lamar in that offense.
You’re not seeing Skyler play a whole season or playing a lot with the first team
No. Next. You're welcome.
FINSUP 🐬
Hell NO!! Has no one actually watched the man play?? He’s Skylar Thompson 2.0. Literally the same person. Poor decision maker, worse at accurately throwing the ball. Literally can’t hit uncovered receivers in open field. He would’ve missed Jonnu Smith on the last TD against the raiders. That’s how bad he is.
If the Dolphins released Skylar he would be picked up as a practice squad player at best. That he is our number two is scary. He is not even a bad NFL QB, he is even less than that.
@@anthonycaniano9892you are on crack.
Bu he's big and strong😂
I would sign him for the simple fact he is better than Skylar Thompson. He played really well in 2022 and won a playoff game at the 12-4 or 13-3 Vikings. I know he has been really beaten up behind a bad OL for years but he is mobile and if Tua goes down for one game this year I just think he is a better option than Skylar.

Why miami wont try Tua brother to be a backup? Just a thought
No. Ryan Tannehill is still available. And for that matter so is The Waterboy
No…
Jones, walking wounded. Perfect for a high dollar contract for the dolphins.
It's not a good move so it will probably happen
Rather have the dolphins draft a qb. We need a younger and healthier qb. We already have tua who's injury prone and now you guys want Danny dimes another injury prone. Heck no draft a toung qb and start fresh. Once grier gets fired then maybe we can see the dolphins get better with a new Gm with new vision for this team. Who knows also a new coach would be a better fit for us as well.
Jones gonna be signed by dallas by Monday
can it hurt? I say sign him as back up option
Yes definitely I think Jones got blames for the circus that is the Giants- at the right price, absolutely yes hire him
I think McDaniel could help him allot- if the $$ is right why not
Douglie,I actually thought you were having an Asthma attack during the intro LOL😂
Noooo....Hell No!
We are officially cooked
HTFN, PLZ
Why?
Daniel Jones?? Depends on how much it would cost.
If Jones had a system built around him yes he’d be better than Tua. But only Tua can be good in this system cause it’s made for him
Yeah that’s why he’s been good at every team he’s ever been on right? That’s why he’s never had a losing record right? Stop watching you have absolutely no clue about anything in football and you don’t even deserve to watch. You are completely clueless
We have to get a back up QB! But?
No keep Huntley he can fit in well with Miami!
No we shouldn't why bring in a guy who's not better or equal to our starter just don't make since phinsup
The point is that he’s better than our backup Qb’s we have now.
So if Tua goes down again we will have a more reliable backup that could definitely win us those games that our backups now can’t..
His years as a starter will go a long ways over our two backups that’s don’t really have that true starter experience.
@@RoderickSquadDMcCloud You’re straight tripping if you think Jones has the athleticism, agility, and brains to extend plays, move out the collapsing pocket, run for OPEN TD’s.. compared to the coachable Huntley.
@RoderickSquadDMcCloud he was 2 and 6 this year I'm confused what games can he win for us stop it phinsup
@@RoderickSquadDMcCloud we can do better than him for a backup phinsup
Hell to the no I don’t want him
Hell no
He’s better than Skyler Thompson but will not be cheaper than Skylar Thompson. Next season jones will command a $10 million contract just like Sam Darnold got with Minny this year. Hell he might get even more. I remember Mariota after Tennesse got a 2 year $20 million from raiders to backup Carr. You are delusional is Jones is signing for the minimum. He is going to a team next season that is drafting a new QB and will bridge the gap in case the rookie QB is not ready.
Sure. As if we haven’t paid enough garbage as it is.
No way …. He can go to the Jets
DJ can play......That team is a mess....Let's get him....He would be the best insurance for tua
He really wouldnt.
Lets face it the season is over anyway if Tua goes down again, Jones isnt good enough to save it. And in the off season we'll have so many better options than this guy.

He's a plank of wood. Avoid.
Jones cannot even win on his own team that is built around him… who in their right mind thinks he can run this system. Just sad that my ears had to listen and read this one.
