When doing South African reactions, keep in mind, that we have little-to-no Coloured representation in the SA music industry.
YoungstaCPT is arguably the only (authentic) Colored voice we have, that has managed to pierce through into the mainstream and receive recognition he long-deserved. Though his value is still heavily underrated and unappreciated by our local Hip-Hop artists and Hip-Hop fan base in South Africa.
He also remains unsigned and independent to this day, by choice.
Fully independent, for the decade that he's been spittin'. Full creativity. Concepts, content, visuals, all original, all his.
No record label, no handouts, no favoritism, no machine behind him pushing and promoting him, nothing.
I agree but majority of listeners can't "racially"/culturally relate... For obvious reasons... Lyrically he's the best - but if he did it like aka who sometimes raps in black vernac (it's Relatable to blacks and its appreciated by blacks I believe ) or what Costa titch does... Which is Rap in black south african languages to appeal to the majority then maybe he'd be up there...
youngsta is He'lla Relatable to coloured people especially cape coloureds... And that's a small percentage of the population so it's not that he isn't good.. I think he's the best hes just not Relatable to blacks fully ...and I commend him for his authenticity - truly one of the only real rappers in SA - he doesn't even use the N word... Which I appreciate

Not all Coloureds are mixed with black . I’m mixed with Indian , black, European ect ). Being mixed with black and white alone makes you bi racial basically, not so much coloured.
