The sad part is that Rio was actually based on a true story what is happening and the reason why Spix's macaw is almost Critically extinct. Despite the fact of deforestation, being killed & sold for their marvelous feathers, and sold as pets at a very high price. Spix's macaw species are declining rapidly due to our selfish nature of greed. It’s also happening to other animals as well. 😔
