Indeed... Normally, that's the point of the neck set in the first place. Greg... If the neck hadn't been broken before, would you have steamed it in the traditional way by pulling the 15th, drilling a hole etc? If I go through this with my Celebrity, I want to fix the action which I assume would require shims under the fretboard extension... How would you have removed this neck had it not been broken???
Ovations use multiple shims underneath the saddle, in order to set the action. Check yours, you’ll find them. You can add or subtract as you please, to get where you want. (Years ago I contacted the company, and they even sent me a little ziplock bag of extra shims for free.)
@@erickleefeld4883 Yes that works if your action is low , but i have already taken all of the shims out and the action is still high. I'll have to live with that ( I did the last 25 years anyway)
