I don't think exotic pets should be illegal, BUT I think the "conditions for getting a license need too be much stricter. It's too easy to get one, and too many people buy exotic pets without having the knowledge or means to care for one, just because it's "cute".
Ikr. Like some people what goes through their minds are "hey I want one and I got the money for it" so they just buy it on impulse
Thank you! Hermit crabs. Anyone can get one and don't even research (I own four in a twenty gallon tank) it's so sad.
I believe exotic animals (the basic ones, small snakes, small lizards, most rodents, most fish, etc) should be open to the public to obtain, they are amazing and rewarding. However, they should be harder than going to PetSmart and buying a lizard. We need to educate the public that these aren’t $5 trinkets that don’t matter as much as cats or dogs, but they deserve to be treated with care, people need to research and be sure they can devote whatever the animal needs and more for its entire lifespan. They are complex, beautiful, intelligent, and way too easy to buy. Plus the employees at chains pet stores don’t know what they’re talking about, and the care sheets they put out are disgusting. My PetSmart sells long-tailed lizards for $12 each. They are very delicate, easily stressed creatures that are adorable. You should only handle them when necessary and with caution because they’re so delicate. If a kid’s whining for a pet, which one do you think the parents gonna choose?
It depends where you live. I'm in Pennsylvania, have a degree in biology, and experience with exotic and native rehabilitation and STILL can't get a license.
glumpot definitely agree
Too cute for her own good. She has no business being a pet but she's adorable.
I dunno, being a pet can be better than the wild. You get spoiled, never have to hunt for food, people buy you toys, you have permanent shelter, and all the love they'd ever need. I say being a pet is the life for them. lol
@@TimelessWorldOfGamingmarmosets are really social, they need to be around other marmosets
How much do you want to bet she still took the monkey out all the time just to show it off?
The sweetest animal I have ever seen in real life!! It's so adorable! :D
I really hope this girl took a good care of it...
+Srđan Tubin any care won't be enough its gonna die www.iflscience.com/plants-and-animals/no-pygmy-marmosets-are-not-cool-new-accessory
+Jodie Hipper I agree, with all monkeys as well. :( People keep them till they are grown and no longer "cute" and become to where the person can't control them. This is animal abuse!
they are wonderful an loving pet i which they are happy
When it started playing with her hair I could've died. Sooo cute!!!
The owner didn't seem to care what the vet had to say at all. Why'd she even bother going if she wasn't going to take any of her advice seriously?
+JC Denton okay someone is a sexist pig.
Please. Go back to Return of Kings and stay there. And what's wrong with rebelling against authority?
says the person with a women as his profile pic lol
said the man/troll lol
honestly, is this the best you can come up in your mother's basement?
+JC Denton I'm a 9 year old girl, girls are very Intelligent! we are not selfish nor ignorant so shut your dumb mouth! 😾
You can tell by the change in her demeanor by the end of the visit she wasn't happy about not being able to take it out to show off for a year
look at the owner's face...she couldnt care less....
lol i hate to say it, but yeah... her nonchalant attitude makes it seem like she'll do what she wants to do anyway.
that girl is clueless she ignored what the vet was explaining to her
I'm guessing it was dead before the episode aired.
sadly thats very possible
stop hating on the girl what would you know about monekeys huh plus shes just a teen
@@helenthequeen7200 yeah, that's kind of the point.
I just love how the owner acted so stuck up as the trained vet explained how serious It is to not take the monkey into public areas. "Mhm..Yeah...Alright" And just a shitty attitude in general. She's probably some girl who wanted a "Show Off" Pet that people would stop her in public and gawk 'n awe over it making her feel good. Poor little thing is going to probably end up sick :C
If anyone ever considers getting an exotic animal as a pet, they should read up, look up, and do as much research as hey can for the species they want to adopt. And you should research for a few years at least!
hingewolfgirl agreed. The whole time watching it i wanted to shake her. :/
Maybe she was just listening?
You seem to love Doc Pol right, I can tell from your comments, well I love me alot you know, he is really amazing, he is always here to look out for the animals, may God grant him all his heart desires....by the way nice meeting you on here, I hope you are having a wonderful time out there right 😃😃😃😃😃
@@yespls6260 exactly just because they looked angry and didn’t say much doesn’t mean they had bad intentions or were upset with the doc. If I’m angry I don’t respond yet she responded to the doc so I think she was listening.
tbh I recommed from the start when thinking of getting an exotic pet to just stop the thought and say no to yourself. Unless you are in on an "help the animal" program. (they have programs in my country were some people who have animal care degree (tbh I dunno what the english word is) can take in animals that can't be let back into the wild, they are pretty much treated like pets but kept way more in check from the state that they are taken good and fair care of)
The vet says "herpes WILL kill them", and the girl just mumbles "um-hmn", like she could give a shit - daddy'll just buy me a new one..
+4998826p Spoiled brat, only thinking of hersself!
exactly! these things are not pets but she didn't even take a second to realize that! she just thought, oh I have money let me spend it. they need to be in the wild
4998826p You want an overhyped reaction? what if she is a low energy person
anonymous source?
She probably knows all of this already, she said she did research.
You could tell, the way she mumbled "yeah" to the vet when implored to not take her out for a year - and especially not to the store, like she'd been doing - or other public places, that she was just shining her on, and WOULD keep taking the thing wherever she damn well pleased, and who the hell was SHE to interfere with her fun anyway, and what's the point of HAVING the goddamm thing if you can't show everyone how special you are for having one, and keep up with the Jones'...
Yup. I'm sure Dr. K realizes this too. She must see some real knuckleheads come in with pets they have no business owning.
@@fantom5894 I would not be able to do her job. I'd probably end up trying to strangle someone like the girl in the video within 6 months.
The monkey was running its tiny fingers through her hair XD and the monkey was also sticking its tongue out at the camera!

Not to mention that every baby monkey purchased means one monkey mum who lost her baby. This is a horrible pet trade that should be illegal. For shame.
stfu
A lot of Animal Mama's lose their babies. It's how nature works. With some animal species at least
crap doodle Oh for fuck sakes, read a book without pictures in it for once in your life you uneducated moron.
+Panda Monium you are one angry human being
Dwyane Wade Miami Version Perhaps. However, in this instance...I am being a voice for the voiceless because common sense just ain't common enough anymore. Good day to you, Trolly McTrollersons.
0:21 The head tilt, oh my fuck, that's adorable
Marmosets are adorable! She seems to be a responsible owner, taking her to Dr. K and getting her checked out. I hope all goes well for them.

I'm so glad in Australia obtaining exotic pets are much much harder than in the US...
Same in Canada BC, illegal unless it's an animal sanctuary.
It's easy to own one in england ☹I wish they could be free with there family and natural habitat. 🙏❤
Yeah thats true, usually its just lizards and snakes
You could get sugar gliders as pets in Victoria a few years ago. Just wrong! 😢
I love Common Marmosets, which is why I think they DON'T belong as pets. They need other marmosets to be with and at the same time when they stop getting along they can't split up their groups like in the wild, creating a lose-lose situation.
I have known people who had them as pets and it never turned out well. Either they die of some illness acquired in captivity or mauled and eaten by a neighbor's dog.
Omgggg cuteness overload especially when it tilts its head to the side!
Lmao @ the one girl about to laugh + giving the other girl in the back a look when the vet mentioned herpies. She might have it??
Definitely has it lololol
I wonder why is this even legal.
animals are property with money you can own one.
?
+Jennifer Sentman 8
+Uranija Zeus
Why is it legal to have dogs, cats, and horses?
All animals at one point were wild and a small monkey like this poses little danger to humans
An adorable little critter, but I'm thinking the girl's not mature enough to own one. She didn't seem to care too much about what the vet was saying, especially about the diseases. One of her friends was even smirking, that's just sick.
cuddling the hair...adorable!
How DARE that nasty vet tell me I gotta think about what's best for her, and stop showing her off in public places; it's always about what's best for ME, or I wouldn't have forced mommy and daddy to buy me the goddamn thing in the first place! It's about showing her off in public, so people know how SPECIAL I am!
this shouldn't be a pet it's not a domestic animal
+34is1 what makes any animal a domsetic animal? their ancestors were all wild at one point
+xxcowslayerxxx What's the difference between a house cat and a tiger? Is that what you're asking? lol
+THE DREAM you make a valid point I mean your mother kept you so I guess I should rethink this
+34is1 Hahahaha!
I have human pets :)
That look between the friends, priceless when the doc mentioned herpes. Yes, bitches, you.
Guys this girl doesn't seem stuck up or cruel at all, this vet just gave her some advice she needed. Also commenting on a video won't do shit if you really want to save animals go outside and do something
When it plays with her hair... I can't handle how adorable it is :3 (1:37)
Awwww, it's so cute playing with her hair :3
This chick does not seem fickle or shallow at all. Congrats to this marmoset for finding a loving, temporary home. :(
Travis Best lol get a load of this guy
Perhaps Toothless should teach the marmoset on how to train her human, HM?
Should be in the wild
@@rachelshaub1742 nah
The cuteness factor is blowing my freakin mind right now aghhhhhhhh
oh my god the way its grabbing her hair is adorable! :D
So cute when it turns it's head around
I don’t think anyone should own monkeys, lemurs, any of those animals, (unless they’re injured and need rehabilitation by a professional) let alone some teenager who obviously hasn’t done their research.
She is what you call cute as a button smile
The look on that girl with the yellow shirt when they said herpies she looked at her like oh hell nah cuhzz.
No that look was "oh shit you have herpes don't give it to the monkey"
she probably doesn't realize that the herpes virus is not just an STI
I thought the same thing, she looked at the other girl like "damn they talking about you"
everyone seems to think that, but I think the look was like "are you fucking serious?" when that bitch vet insinuated they all have herpes.
OH. MY. SQUEE.
IT'S ADORABLE! ❤
1:58 the monkey sticks his tounge out aww so cute!
She is aboulotly adorable
OMG ITS ADORABLE
THE CUTENESS IS OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!!
Was actually so freaking tempted to spend all my savings on chipping in to buy one when it started playing with her hair it's so bloody adorable

Why is everyone talking about the girl being responsible with the monkey. I never even looked at the girl's face the monkey is so cute!
+Johnny Montmorency cause we are worried for the monkey's safety. the girl did seem just blatantly stupid
Awwwww she is so adorable those eyes
Awwww so cute! I'll stick with pet dogs though.

So glad to see that the owner did proper research and cares enough about it to give it all of the care and food out needs ❤️

I think if she REALLY did some thorough research, she'd have realized monkeys, no matter how cute, no matter the size, are WILD animals and should never ever be a pet.
poor marmoset... this girl didn't seem to really take the vets words to heart and was just nodding her head as if she's done all the research. Doesn't give me a good feeling. I hope i'm wrong though. What a precious animal
Common marmosets are really common in Brazil especially in Rio De Janeiro.
Excellent advice doc
Why do people get non-domesticated animals? They're beautiful and adorable, but things like the pet trade can deplete a species to status of endangered, not to mention captivity is inmensely stressful to them. I respect wild animals too much to do that to them, prioritizing my whims over their well-being.
Oh poor you, the voice of reason
For their egos...haven't really heard/seen another reason
domesticated animals were wild animals too - if we had your mindset we would have never had pets in the first place
@@romainvicta3076 Uh no. What about cats?Probably the most popular pet worldwide, domesticated themselves. There is no excuse, other than ego, to own something like a mountain lion for a pet
@@DonnaDoveWinters Uh no. Ever heard of the term "wild cat" cats were not domesticated naturally love ; you feed a wild animal for it to become friendly etc - every breed of animal that has been domesticated was done in this way over generations
I'm not saying that people should not have exotic pets, I'm saying that they need to be mindful of the animals needs. Especially little monkeys like this one who can get deadly diseases from humans. I think the process to get a license for exotic pets should be much more strict. I don't think exotic pets should be illegal I'm just saying the authorities should do strict testing and background checks.
I always wanted a slow loris but I don't just get one
Marmosets make good pets for those who have done their research and have lots of time to dedicate to the little guys.

:/ From the girls "know it all" attitude, it seems she couldn't give a damn about the monkey. I hope the poor thing doesn't get sick due to her lack of care or the fact that she wasn't really paying attention to what the vet was telling her.

2:03 - that look! Heck, that look! That’s like “Yo! Ya heard that?”
I know someone who has 2 marmosets. They make wonderful pets but really should have another marmoset as a companion. I'm tired of people constantly shit talking exotic pet owners.
It's not necessarily the owners fault entirely. It starts with the breeders. The babies are ripped away from their own mother way too soon. Its absolutely heartbreaking.
Sadly later in this episode the marmoset came back in very sick. It had contracted herpes from one of her friends and was euthanized as it was suffering badly. The owner did not listen and the animal paid the price.
Seriously?
“And harpies are the big ones” two sisters : 👀 👀 @2:05
My Godness, so sweet!!
💗💗💗💗💗
Having an exotic vet almost encourages people to get these animals.
the eyess 😭😭😭😍😍😍😘 so cute
died of cuteness
Hey that is one cool doctor! =)
She's adorable, but looking at her makes me really sad. She's plucked away from her mother, people shouldn't have monkeys as pets.
#RIPBabyMonkey The look of "Oh FUCK" when the vet mentioned herpes 2:03
Heartbreaking how un informed the owner was and didn't seem to care.

keep pressing 1, too cute
"Mhm. Mhm. Yeah... Alright."
Just the way she was acting and responding, it sounded like she barely cared.
can't agree with you more
Also at the very she gave me a weird vibe like she is stills going to take her to the store and stuff like that ! U get me ?
i know this is super sad but is no one really going to talk about the side-eye she just gave that bitch at 2:03? i'm dying.

I love when my veteranarian insults me on live tv. I wonder if this is real or just an actor.
Did anyone notice the salad spinner from the lovebird, just sitting in the table/desk behind her? Lol.
he is so cute!!
Even human cold sores can kill marmosets. They are also very social animals they NEED to be with other marmosets and constant mental stimulation for their complex brains.
I love monkeys but I can respect them from afar. Why do people have to take wild animals and try to domesticate them?!
This is why I get mad when people scream ''I want a baby tiger i am gonna adopt a monkey, i will get a ferret.'' and so on. They are not dogs and or cats and even most people don't know how to properly train or keep a common dog, how do you except the majority to keep a monkey then?
People are so fucking lazy when it comes to educating themselves, they just dive in, thinking the specie is entirely for their pleasure and ego. It is a FAMILY member and a specific type of specie you are adopting, it doesn't plan it's life around you, you plan YOUR life around it.
People who say pets are ONLY for the enjoyment and entertainment of other people are naive and narcissistic. We adopt because we want a family member and we wanna give THEM a good life, not just our selves.
Black The Nerevar Firstly, I do agree that most people should not have them. However, If you have the resources financially and physically, then so be it. I am a private primate owner and speaking from experience I would have never adopted my marmoset if I couldn't care for him. I did my research and I am well educated on their care. I think it is a bit ignorant to say that people only purchase them 'just cause' as this is not the case. Believe it or not, they have a better chance of survival in captivity with proper care than they do out in the wild where they are prey to almost anything. I wouldn't jump on assumptions that the majority of primate owners are selfish :)
She’s so cute
he's so god dame cute
I worry about exotic pet moneys as pets, usually their ripped from the mother in the wild in order to sell them for money.
Oh man she's not going to do one thing the vet's advising her on. Poor little critter. They're probably stopping by Winn Dixie then shoe shopping after that vet visit.
wtf.. so adorable 😂😂
Tearing these animals away from their families and natural lifestyles... and supporting the illegal wildlife trade, wow....congratulations !
My mom had a marmoset when she was younger. Her name was Rico.
Awwwwwwwwwww so cute I want one so bad 🐒🐒
the little hand grabbing her hair omg
Cute little fella :)
I love them 😩
So cute
Soooooooooooooo cuuuut
I like the comments who say that getting a marmoset needs "a lot of thought and research" like getting other pets doesn't. Marmosets you gotta look after real good but dogs, cats, rabbits, rats, mice, hamsters and all that don't need any thought or care at all!
cutest thing i HAVE EVER SEEN KILL ME !!!
WHY is it so easy to get and exotic pet that should not be a pet??! 😡 I’ve seen baby monkeys on this show that SHOULD NOT have been taken away from mother so soon, and it’s infuriating.
