  • INDE has introduced HeroMirror Touchless, a technology that enables users to navigate their kiosk-sized augmented reality experience without touching the device itself.
Customer-facing touchscreens became an essential and integrated part of everyday modern life: from banks and public transportation to self-service checkouts and entertainment, many different services rely on this kind of easy to use interfaces. With the Covid-19 outbreak, health concerns regarding public touchscreens have prompted many companies to look at alternative activation solutions.
As the world's leading augmented reality company INDE was quick to come up with a solution, given the fact that HeroMirror, their popular AR-powered photo booth relied on a touchscreen.
To activate this feature, users have to scan a QR code on the device, which leads them to a website. Once they enabled it, they could use their own smartphone as a remote control: they can pick the hero they want to take a picture with, just like they would do with the touch screen. As with every other HeroMirror installations, users can make the magic moment last by choosing their favourite snapshot and sharing it online right away from the website.
“This is a key development for what’s become a very popular product for our global customer base” commented Alex Alanson, COO of INDE. “It shows that we listen to the needs of our audience and that we’re able to innovate at pace - a vital capacity for any business in the current economic climate. I’m incredibly proud of what our product and development teams have been able to achieve.”
