Thanks for watching, liking and subscribing! Wanted to finally visit this one on the channel and was in the fortunate position to check it out after the patch which corrected online connection issues! Let me know if after the patch is something you want more of! Thanks for watching as well, I know there’s a ton of videos on this already!
First comment
Absolutely! “All Patched Up” is a great thing to add to your channel. Just look at Baldo! Keep up the great work 🍻
Realy woud of loved it to be like schot pilgrim game
@@garethbeaton8414 It’s BETTER.
They really nailed it, just wish the throws weren't so problematic. As other UA-cam videos have pointed out, throws need invincibility frames, are inconsistent, and the grand-slam throw is seriously Down graded from the Turtles in Time original.
And I totally agree that the game could use extra modes. The SNES version of, uh, TiT had a versus mode. And what with the more varied characters and move sets, it's an even greater shame it's not there. Fingers crossed on that DLC.
I love that you can solo this with characters other than the Turtles. It kinda adds to the lore that more people than them are capable in their universe.
Got it digitally on release. Physical pre ordered for this Friday. Can’t wait!!!!
I’m still deciding on the physical of the game, I’m sure I will get it but I was happy to get the soundtrack ordered
I pre-ordered the physical as well. Any word on when it will ship ?
Great video Alex, I like that you checked it out after the patch as it gives a better understanding of online play and feature’s which helps decide if I am going to get the game or not.thanks for your great content.
Purchased Day 1 and wasn't disappointed. Growing up in the 90s in a small midwestern town, we still had arcade cabinets around town. I grew up playing Gauntlet Legends, TMNT, The Simpsons, Blitz, the list goes on. Turtles was one of the best arcade beatemups ever. This game was a perfect homage.
thanks for the video boss!! is this re the 1.0.2 update? or is there a new update on the way?
1.0.2, it was just a way to address it’s all fixed up with online functionality etc!
Very pleased to hear! I'm bidding my time on it a bit (neck-deep in a second playthrough of Hollow Knight on my new Oled) but I'll certainly be grabbing this game in the future.
I didn't realize you guys passed on this game already. It's definitely one of the best games out this year.
Yeah, the week it released, I was actually away! And then I intended to review when I got back and other games had piled up and now, we a couple of months back lol
@@SwitchCorner I no-lifed it the day it came out and had to pretend to not know anything when my son came by later and wanted to play it with me lol :D
Did this patch fix the throwing? My biggest gripe about this game is that the throwing felt weaker when compared to Turtles in Time.
Cool game. It's like a renaissance of beat 'em up games. At a recent steam festival, I played the demo of another potentially good game - Arnold Bounty Hunter. It looks more like the first Battletoads - there are not only fights, but also various adventures with platforming, hydrocycles. It also looks interesting. I liked the demo.
I have the physical copy on pre-order, but I will definitely double down and get the digital version when it's on a good sale.
Did they fix the frame rate stutter issue?
Better late than never Alex! This is surely one of the best of 2022, so far. Now looking forward to Cowabunga collection. Can’t wait to get pissed off all over again on the NES game (it’s GREAT!)…even though I still have the NES cart at home.
This game is sooo beautiful! Already put 35+ hours into it! I play alot of different games too
Yeah, the pixel work here is stunning, it’s the animations where they really deliver for me
Just curious because I’m considering getting it…I know it’s a short game, how did you put that many hours into it? Trying to just understand the replay ability factor. (Also I have just started the review video so maybe Alex answers this in his review)
This (along with SOR4) are some of the best games to play in rotation and in between playing other games. This why I love the Switch.
@@AZ23MJ just playing arcade mode straight through is about an hour and a half, two hours right there. Then I leveled up all seven characters to level 10. Then I did all the achievements. Besides 3 of them. Which are the no hit hoverboard level, and the very last level. A no hit run against super shredder, is impossible for me
Congratulations
I wasnt aware the launch version had any technical issues?
at least from what I've played so far.
Just dropped connection mainly, a lot of people were getting kicked when others connected and so on but all resolved
Can't wait for this game!! Have pre-ordered the special edition from Signature Edition Games. Jumping straight into it when it arrives! So much nostalgia coming my way! And yeah you're right...Hero Turtles in the UK...couldn't possibly have anything as violent as the word "ninja" on our TV screens! Haha! :D
I bought the digital for the Switch and have it pre-ordered for both the Switch and PS4. I just got the regular edition, from Amazon, as I couldn't see myself paying $60 for the classic edition from LRG as I just couldn't see why it's $25 more for basically a steelcase and VHS cover. Should had been like $10 - $15 more.
@@saysoun752 I was thinking about going digital too, but have had plenty of games to keep me busy 👌🏻 Yeah, LRG are a bunch of cowboys man. So expensive and you gotta wait up to a year (or more) for your "special" game to even arrive. Absolute joke 🤣
My physical copy finally shipped today. I hope all the patches are on the cartridge. Can’t wait to play it soon.
I picked up the physical copy today and the Update version on the Nintendo Switch Game Card is 1.0.138, but it still asked for an Update.
Its my favorite game of 2022 on both the Switch and XBox. I have played it solo and online, loving every second of it. I hope that the popularity that shows from the sales numbers will entice Tribute and Dotemu to invest in some DLC. I would even go so far as to buy individual character DLC packs that would add playable character to the mix. I just love the Turtles, they were my #1 toy growing up and I had every action figure that has been included in Shredder's Revenge. Such a nice trip down nostalgia lane.
I'm waiting to play ... when the physical copy comes out. Can't wait .. I remember playing Turtles 🐢 in arcade.. dropping in those quarters..
What was in the patch
I'm waiting for the playasia copy of this game. Had to go with the music CD and other goodies for the same 34.99 price as retail. Still excited to play this!
With dlc be careful gamers what you wish for. During the 360 era dlc became almost the norm and gamers started to hate dlc because it was content that was suppose to be in the game. In understand some dlc expansions come later and some are good but it was really bad when they were greedy on dlc back in the day. Microsoft were the ones that started and others followed. Sony had more game content in disc. They did some dlc but wasn’t as bad. When PS4 dominated last gen. Dlc wasn’t as bad. There were more free dlc upgrades. Please don’t change that gamers
I agree 100%!!
I’m waiting on my physical copy from limited run games, CAN’T WAIT TO PLAY IT!
Great game. Bought a digital and physical copy for myself and 1 for my nephews. Tons of fun!
I would love to see a survival mode where the player with the most points earns a continue at the end of each level.
It's a very fun game. Looking forward to seeing them physical releases soon enough.
At the beggining nobody's was even worry for the patch, thanks no one else I saw is doing this review
For anyone who loves this game I would consider picking up a physical copy as TMNT games have a way of disappearing and becoming delisted when the license expires.
Yes, I agree. Happens all the time, especially with modern TMNT games.
Already purchased it, they had a little discount on it at release.
Cannot wait to pick this up.
Going physical I guess Kaleb?
One of the only games I have bought full price since I got my switch almost 3 years ago.. One word... Yes!!
This game is everything I was hoping for. Just a great time
what patch? the one that game out just a few days after the game? gaah you had me excited
Oh Shit
It was just a different way to position the video honestly compared to day one reviews - it dropped end of June though!
lol Pato's comment got flagged for some reason!
The game is amazing. Even my kids who don’t like games like this one. Got them watching the old movies and shows now too. The 6 player option is great. A bit confusing at times but a lot of fun.
You have 5 kids?
Still has the every 9 seconds frame drop…
This should have had a physcial release straight off the bat. This game was amazing.
I wanna be the Shredder beating up my own henchmen
I'll definitely grab a physical copy of this!
This game was great. I had preordered this one as soon as I could.
Arena mod would be awesome
I bought it day one played just fine for me
One of my favorite game this year. Cowabunga!
Seems li8ke a great beat em up, not to mention the nostalgia!
My one and only criticism is I wish you could only taunt 3 or 4 times per level
Yeah, once I learnt that, not gonna lie, completely overused it!
@@SwitchCorner Actually the first time I played I used it alot but as I got more practice I started using it less, but I didn't think of it as cheating so much as using my brains and taking advantage of an opportunity which sometimes I needed against the bosses. Besides, if I tried it too many times I usually got nailed from behind and pummeled!
This is my game of the year
This is going to look good on the Oled.
SOR4 still feels like the more complete and well rounded game. The combat leaves a lot to be desired in turtles and for a beatemup that's a huge flaw unfortunately.
I was playing and beat it with some viewers. Very awesome game. I wouldn't say it's game of the year or anything I would actually say best beat im up of the year, if anything. I'm most definitely happy with my purchase and you better believe I'm getting the physical copy as well. There is no doubt in my mind about highly, highly, HIGHLY recommending this game to any beat em up fan or even anybody that watch the cartoon back in the day like I did. Streets of Rage 4 treatment it most definitely be the icing on a very very awesome 👍👍👍 cake..
Yep, quality game, I’m pretty sure it will be on my top 10 of the year for sure, probably not game of the year though but time will tell I’m sure!
@@SwitchCorner Oh most definitely. I would also like to add that a lot of my game collection on the switch came from you guys so keep up the amazing work you're doing great.
Great game. I also enjoyed Streets of Rage 4. Hope the devs continue to hit them out of the park.
Sr4 is the best one yet.💪🏼
7.27.22
🐢
not lying there!
Is there online? No, right? Wouldn’t make sense. Never mind.
It’s online! 6 player online infact and all the gameplay is online in this video!
@@SwitchCorner wow, that’s awesome
Yeah, you can basically start a lobby so I start single player, everyone else, was just randomly drop in and out with me!
Easily ranks with Streets of Rage 4 as the best brawlers on Switch. TMNT is certainly more fast-paced, which is why it may edge SOR4 for me personally.
Even after the patch it’s still a 2 hr game and not worth the asking price....
I love this game and you did a stellar review. Now, all we need is a downloadable Usagi Yojimbo to make it perfect!
Thanks so much for your hard work in this comprehensive review. Very appreciated.
This game is far from perfect. 9.8/10 for me.
just started playing last night, game is alrdy dead af, even with it being on game pass, even with it having cross play, looks like all the ppl saying its the best beat em up ever are already bored with it and playing somethine else.
could only find 0 to 1 lobby, max was 4 players in 1 game, and after 1 match it ended up just being me and 1 other person for most of the time
I only played this a couple of days before the video dropped. I did not try and join lobbies however, instead, I just started an online game with open lobby and people jumped in so hopefully that works for you
finished the game in a single afternoon on PC and don't really wanna play it again. Yeah I can use different characters and go back for all the collectibles but I don't really enjoy that.
Just part of the genre to be short and sweet! Hopefully you enjoyed that playthrough though!
@@SwitchCorner oh yeah it's an excellent game, wish it was longer though but yeah you are right that's just part of the genre.
This game makes Streets of Rage 4 seem boring.
I’ll take sor 4 over this any day of the week. But I enjoyed this game though. Would love for them to add a survival mode
I’m going to be honest I don’t like this game as much as I wanted too. 8/10
Where did it miss for you? Gameplay or replay value?
🤔
