Capturing the spirit of Badegaun,
A festival dedicated to Lord Buddha takes place every few years. The event features various traditional elements such as musical instruments, Lakhey dances, and other cultural performances. Groups of children, men, and women form their own teams and visit all the temples and stupas in Badegaun. They light lamps or offer sweets, biscuits, and Newari dishes as offerings.
Here, I captured different Lakheys who came from various places to celebrate the festival, and this is where I spent most of my time with my brother-in-law, who also became a Lakhey during the event.
