      michael weather or not something sinks isn’t determined by size, but rather by buoyancy. To put it simply, the density of the object compared to water determines if it will or will not float in it. Ships are massive and made of metal, which on its own would sink. However, since ships are filled with air, they float.

    Sounds exactly like dwarf mammoth skulls. That went extinct just a few thousand years ago and last lived on islands.

      AoT titans are inherently impossible to maintain themselves due to having a metabolism insanely fast while not having a digestive system, meaning that they lack a the ability to obtain energy, all that still having to supply their muscles, circulatory and nervous system with some kind of nourishment.
      The manga implies that they are powered by sunlight, but for that they would to have to be more efficient than freaking plants (and their millions of years of adaptation) in using oxygen and carbon to be self sustainable.

      Who?
      Anyways, Shin Godzilla has 8 times a human's genetical informations, andcan evolve to adapt to many hazards in a short amount of time: in his 2nd form, when he first go on land, since he was getting crushed under his own weight, he evolved inot a fomr that managed to stand right up, with miniscule arms and a small head.
      In his 4th form, his still had a small head and miniscule harm, but enormous legs with stubby feet amnd a huge tail that touches the ground. To shoot his atomic breath, he also has to cool his body down afterwise.
      That's about as scientifically plausible as Godzilla will ever get, really.

    • @irvs5922
      @irvs5922 5 років тому +4

      DMB well that’s not plausible. Beings don’t just evolve to become more fit to survive. Evolution is a process of random mutations, but the beings that get harmful mutations die and the beings that have non harmful mutations or even mutations that help the being survive are the ones that survive and get to pass on their genes to the next generation and so on. A bipedal being can only get as big as 6 meters, and that is with the help of a tail, and the legs would need to be actually quite big, to make room for all the muscle needed to lift and control the huge weight.
      A plausible version of Godzilla would be a bipedal lizard six meters tall with some anthropomorphic features, such as hands and developed legs and arms, also quite water based, with a huge tail and many crocodile like characteristics, which should also include a very complex neck, such as our own, that would allow for the head to move completely upright, to swim better. To allow for the fire breathing it could be plausible if the creature had a gland that could synthesise a kerosene gel, that when thrown out of the mouth cavity (a snake like feature in its teeth to spit said gel) it would combust. This could be used to heat up the habitat of the being (lizards need a lot of heat, such is their way of laying on hot rocks) and also defend itself and get more nutrition out of what it eats. I hope this was of help.

    There’s only one problem with the giants, since they have big bodies that means they’ll have a very hot body temperature, cells need energy and cells produce heat in order to work, but with game of thrones they solved that problem their giants are living in cold conditions for example *Bergmann's Rule: Animals living near colder climates are bigger in size because being heftier allows them several benefits like reducing body heat loss, Heftier animals have a smaller surface area to volume ratio, which helps reduce heat loss.* it stands to reason they might be eating something that has high calories like whales, walruses and possibly mammoths or any giant animal that can support their size and their diet. With elephants they have huge ears and a tank to reduce body heat and not get heat stroke. The giants probably would have small noses and ears to reduce their chances of getting frostbite.

      @SylvanApe 2 роки тому +15

      "With elephants they have huge ears and a tank to reduce body heat and not get heat stroke"

    • @istvanvaradi3239

      Late to answer, but cells evolved according to the size of the animal,so it wouldnt be a problem.     I see your point, and I love the depth that's gone into scientifically reconstructing fantasy creatures to see how they'd apply to our own reality. But as a fantasy writer, I must decline the sense of hyper realism, as most fantasy worlds' laws of physics are simply under the influence of magical properties and added forms of fantasy types of energies and matter. Thus technically in fiction, there can always be a way to fictionally explain things in a logical sense that applies to that fictional world (;
    But I will take note of as much realism I can to not dumbfoundedly contradict my own writings that breaks immersion.
    What makes fantasy epic is that the forms of power, ability, and grandeur of every situation is amplified as an expression to break from the reality we live in irl.
    Keep up the good work tho! Some of this stuff can be implemented in fresh creative ways. The more we learn, the better we can become.

Since gigantism is caused by a mutation in which the body is constantly producing growth hormones, I think this mutation may have occurred more often because in those days, people were less likely to leave their designated community which means inbreeding was way more common, this would make mutations like gigantism occur more often.

      So far, the crytids in history I know of that were either proven to be completely true or at least based in truth were:
      1.) The giant ape-men called ngila/ngagi/enge-ena by African tribes (which were discovered in 1860 and called Gorillas, after a 500 B.C. account of them by Hanno the Navigator);
      2.) The "African Unicorn" that was a hybrid of zebra/donkey/giraffe (the Okapi was discovered in 1901);
      3.) The horned devil bird "Ulama" (which was recently discovered to be a new species of owl *TRIGGERED!!!* called spot-bellied eagle owl);
      4.) The Ziphius or "Water Owl" (turned out to be a Cuvier's Beaked Whale, which happened to be mistaken for something like a basking shark with a barn owl's face);
      5.) Various crytids inspired by then-undiscovered Australian creatures;
      6.) Sea serpents (oarfish);
      7.) Crytids like the Kraken (easily based on accounts of real cephalopods, especially the giant squid, Architeuthis)

    I feel there's a huge difference or gigantic difference pun intended between giants who develop normally without the brain pituitary deformation and those with that deformation you would find evidence that those without tend to have lived way longer than those with the pituitary deformation. That's a key factor to note when understanding this topic

      Why are giraffes so slender if the weight cannot be supported by a slender frame? Why do the legs of giraffes look particularly thin in proportion ?

    • @Dell-ol6hb
      @Dell-ol6hb 6 років тому +2

      Good question but i think the answer is pretty simple, its because Giraffes clearly dont grow large enough for them to warrant evolving large pillar like legs.

      The child would probably have either condition or be born normally since, mainly, genes don't mix into new forms. Normally, either a gene is active or it's dormant. Like for example if someone with dark hair and someone with light hair have a kid, then they'll have either dark or light hair. So it would all depend on chance, whether or not either person holds a normal-size gene, and if dwarfism and gigantism is dominant or recessive.
      If you know the answer to those questions, then you can form a Punnett Square and calculate out how likely the child would be for each possibility.
