I adore my Galen Leather Slim Covers. I have two, one in Crazy Horse Green and one in Crazy Horse Tan. I use the Hobonichi Cousin in the clear MD cover. I only insert the back cover, but it fits perfectly in both Galen covers. Previously, I’ve used my covers for a Moleskine Expanded softcover and regular Moleskine Large softcover books (again, both with just the back cover inserted) and enjoyed the fit of those as well. I’ve put my other covers away in storage in my closet recently, since I love my Galen Leather ones so much. I’m in Canada and have had customs charges both times I ordered, approximately a month after delivery - even so, the price is more than reasonable for the product you receive. 💛

The idea of the leather is that it distress and gets character - They are not scratches per se. If one were to fold and bent it when its empty one would get a very characterful notebook cover - They sell some of their products with this already done. It is called distressing. I dont think you should fix the charm. According to their purpose, if they break or get lost, they broke a curse/took away the envy someone had over you. That was fast lol
Hi Mits. Love your new cover. :) I purchased the A5 Zippered black in Dec. for my Xmas present too and I LOOVE it. It's a smooth non- distressed leather with a sheen and it houses my A5 Stalogy. :D I thought I escaped the Fedex charges as it would have been 6 weeks on Monday coming. I received my bill from Fedex today. :( Ah well. It was $20 for a $146 order including $17 shipping to Canada. It was discounted and still a very reasonable price for the beautiful quality craftsmanship. I would definitely order again.
I have a crazy horse zip for my HB weeks that doubles as a large wallet and I adore it, but this nice floppy beauty is one my wish list for sure, thx for sharing 👍

My evil eye charm was broken in exactly the same way. I kept the big round eye part though =) I’m thinking about gluing a pendant clasp thing to the back... did you fix yours? Any brilliant ideas? =D
I am Turkish. If it is broken it means the eye did it’s job an protected you from something. You don’t fix it once it’s broken. It’s part of the shaman culture in Turkish society.
I am looking at the part where we insert the notebook into the cover. The leather will make that part of the paper higher. So do you think the paper will not be flat when writing?
Hello! I do not have any problems with writing in the notebook, but you can always use a writing board (or shitajiki) if you want to. The writing board will allow for a nice flat surface to write on. I hope that helps! Thank you for watching

How has this cover held up for you over the years? I’m currently torn between the Tan and the natural undyed leather.
