Firstly,Dale ,your video is much more genuine and educational than many TV programs on railways. I shall not name the programmes! Scotland,of course, was a significant part of the British contribution. Lots of engineering took place in Scotland. Engines carry the manufacturers name and the country they originated. I think the world would be a better place without government restricting travel.i would love to live wherever I like for however long I like.sri Lanka railways and buses are part of the socialist idea of cheap travel. Prices should remain low but the government can have more projects like

Sri Lanka already has a huge tourist attraction, with some proper planning and development by the government authorities, Sri Lanka can easily be turned into a number 1 tourist destination. Just little things to be fixed and make it a bit more comfortable and pleasant for the tourists, I am sure this is gonna be a great place. I am so upset to see the majority of Sri Lankans struggling to converse in English which is a huge drawback for a country that is a tourist destination.
St Joseph College (Maradana, Colombo 15 ??) and St Thomas College , Mount Lavinia, just outside Colombo are famous schools and functioning. Thanks for you excellent commentary.
There is, or was also St Thomas’s College, Gurutalawa, a boarding school, also upcountry, and boys would travel on the train at the beginning and end of term to get to school there. That is why there are two signs for St Thomas’s. I do not know whether the school at Gurutalawa still exists. My aunt was a matron there in the 1950’s and 60’s, and had a little house just down the road from the school with an absolutely splendid mountain view.
