I’ve lived in Sarasota for 13 years I love it so much. My favorite place to go is Selby Gardens it’s so fun for kids. During the winter they have what they call lights in bloom and if you look it up it’s so cool they make all kinds of fun shapes and animals with the lights and put them all over the garden. Definitely my favorite place when I was a kid
I am asking a question.. Why did you wear a cap besides keeping your hair covered up all together.. What is the difference?

Also there is this ice cream place in Venice that is sooo good it is called Nakomis groves. Best pineapple ice cream everrrr.

I live on the other side of Florida and we have the light brown "sandy" sand on our beaches. They're really nice and I live near a beach where you can always find private space to hang out. We do LOVE to come to your coast for the wonderful white sand whenever we get a chance. It's nice that it only takes a few hours to get from one side to the other.

Hi Lynette. What a nice video. Really enjoyed the sites of Sarasota, brought back many great memories. The beaches, St. Armands Circle, and showing different places to eat, especially Yoder’s Restaurant brought back beautiful memories. We were last there in February of 2020, right before the pandemic. Loved watching the Sarasota sights. I lived there as a child (1960 -1972) and my brother still lives there. I’m so glad I found your channel. I had a friend in high school named Bev Troyer. Wonder if you might know her? We walked to Sarasota High School together in 71 or 72. Anyway thanks for the pictures. Really enjoyed them.

We have a family condo in Siesta Key and I have to say this makes me miss it. I cannot wait to go down in August. I'm a big fan of: Orange Octopus Ice Cream, Waterfront Restaurant, Dutch Valley Restaurant, Old Salty Dog, Pelican Alley [Casey Key, Nokomis] and my all time favorite donut truck -- Meanie's Mini Donuts! I love watching you wonder around Sarasota, it's my "home away from home" and I miss it so much!

I was born and raised in Sarasota and raised Mennonite. I have family that still live there. Which church do you go to? I moved to Port Charlotte (45 minutes South) 4 years ago and come to Sarasota to visit here and there. It's a beautiful place, but I do miss the more laid back Sarasota before everyone knew about our secret paradise :)
Southside deli on Hillview has really good chicken salad sandwiches, Bankok on swift rd for great Thai food and Burritos on Clark rd for Tacos! I definitely second Toasted Mango! Good video!

Very beautiful sunsets, never been to any oceans so would be an amazing trip for my family. I live way up north in Michigan. Snow is still on the ground here and cold, but not too bad this week and the sunshine has been really nice to see. It makes me look forward to our next season - Spring. Love watching your videos, don’t post much but I do watch when I am able to.

Thanks so much for this video. I'm a Canadian snowbird and had to stay home from Fl this winter. Love Siesta key and the Sarasota area. Glad to see this video... beaches, palm trees etc.
My mom and dad used to spend the winters in Bradenton Florida so I’m very familiar with all the places you talk about and have been to all of them. Saint Armands Square was one of her favorite places to shop! I would go down every winter for a week to 10 days and spend with them and it was wonderful. Siesta key is wonderfully soft and thick sand, so gorgeous!!! No wonder you love it there, it is absolutely gorgeous on the West Coast!
Is that a diaper bag you are bringing with you to the beach? Any recommendations? I’ll have three kids 3 and under soon and am looking for something suitable.

Really loved this video of Sarasota. I have a cousin who lives on Bird Key Island there. There's something about sunshine, ocean and palm trees that is very calming and relaxing. It would be dream retirement.

I live about 20 miles north of the FL line! We go shopping in FL quite often! Destin most of the time! Those beaches are beautiful and I think a lot of us who live close take it for granted!
Lynette, this was a beautiful video! I never wanted to go to Sarasota before today, now I do. I live in the Great Smoky Mountains, so I also live in a beautiful place, but the weather is sometimes very cold, snowy or rainy, and today is cold! God has made so much beauty for us to enjoy.

Oh Lynette! I love your tour of Sarasota. We try to get there a couple of times a year. Of course with Covid, that has put a damper on travel this past year. Lido beach is my favorite. Yes Siesta has nice sand and beautiful water but I love the more natural state of Lido.
Do you have to worry about storms and hurricanes where you live? Are there a lot of Mennonite/Amish families in your area? I would love it there.

What a beautiful place.We have friends that moved there about a year ago.We lived in Ft.Walton Beach Fl. for 20 years.The beaches there are so white and pretty.I never took my daughters to the beach very much because of the mess we had to clean up.Which is sad.Thanks so so much for sharing this.I enjoyed it.

My tip: Apply sunscreen on kids BEFORE leaving the house. SO much easier and it allows time for lotions to “set in”. Also...we love beach access #12. Tricky to get in during snowbird season. Although...with kids you want a bathroom. There isn’t one there. 👎🏻
