    Any industry that provides essentials like energy shouldn't have a system where consumers have to constantly be looking for the cheapest deals. It's like double glazing sales; if you have to use bargaining and dealing to secure a purchase, it can only mean that some people are being ripped off. Just get rid of the share holders, get rid of the shiny suit sales staff and all the other pointless hangers on, get rid of the massive bonuses and supply the people with a vital service at a fair price.

    It's really simple. Everyone needs to boycott their jobs and refused to work in a society where we are being exploited. The government cannot fight against a nation. Out of fear, ppl continue to pay exploited prices, when the power is with the people.

    So last April the cap was £1918 based on a wholesale cost of 259 a therm. In the past 3 months (which is when contracts are agreed) the highest that wholesale cost has been was £134: note that’s average is much less.
    We are to pay 2k when the wholesale cost is much lower than last years

      They are much cheaper but we buy all energy at the price of the most expensive generation in this country, so renewables are bought at the price of gas. It's supposed to protect gas generation as it's needed for when renewables don't work from being completely uncompetitive when renewables are working.

    Shell Energy sent an email and im only saving £100 on my average yearly cost when the prices have more than doubled in the last couple of years. No doubt we will see more 'record-breakinf profits' next year because of these greesy corporations bleeding us dry and the government standing by and doing next to nothing.

  • @93DT
    @93DT Рік тому +7

    It’s the same with everything. When people pay for goods at a certain price, they’ll never drop them back down. We’re here to work hard, earn as much as we can and the government allow big companies to bleed us dry. The government want the rich to stay rich and everyone else to be reliant on the state. We should not of been happy for the £67 support over the winter, we should of been on the streets protesting for change. But people see it as a great help, when it’s the government allowing this to happen in the first place. Wake up people.

  • @jimmeer
    @jimmeer Рік тому +2

    It seems to be the way of the media that they never get to the point. Surely with the dramatic fall in gas prices some months ago household bills for those not on a fixed tariff should have dropped ages ago. Yet here the media are still stuck on price caps and Government support- even though the goverment doesn't have any money either- it is our money.

    Think about this. Every household is slowly changing over to LED lighting. LED runs about 90% less energy than normal incandescent light bulbs. That’s a lot of energy these companies are losing out on hence these disgusting price rises and it will go up come summer when we are using less. Plus Ukraine is not our problem why should we pay for that

  • @Anon-xd3cf
    @Anon-xd3cf Рік тому +4

    The war in Ukraine is not causing energy prices to go up...
    That is a political choice.
    By sanctioning Russia the price of coal and oil and gas have increased since western countries stopped buying from Russia but is all smoke and mirrors, the UK is buying oil and gas from US who are buying it from the UAE who are guying it from Russia.
    So rather than buy it cheap from Russia the UK is paying twice as much to have it shipped twice around the world.

    Of course they’re not going back. This is how inflation works. Inflation is a tax by its very design.
    If all the prices remained the same but politicians made laws and reduced everyone’s salary by 10 percent in the country… they’d be ripped to pieces. However, increase the prices by 10 percent and give people a 5 percent pay rise and people will just go along quietly or loudly annoyed… still struggling in the exact same way but that’s it. Politicians aren’t being attacked in the streets. The Bank of England chairman doesn’t that flung off a bridge.
    The debt based monetary system does this by its very nature. It is simply designed this way. Doesn’t matter which political party is in power. The wealth goes up and everyone else gets poorer and most (not all) but most will never keep up on the going ever faster treadmill.
    It’s not an accident or bad policy. It’s planned this way by the people that created the banking system we know today.
