Literally my favorite game as a kid, even more than GTA. Literally had some of the best game mechanics and graphics of its time. An open world punisher game would have been a global smash hit.
Remember playing this as a 14 year old after school. The violence was on another level and it felt so great relieving school stress with this game on the weekends.
One of my favorite games. I remember buying the Xbox version to play on the 360 and was pleasantly surprised that it was done by the Saints Row people- some of my favorite games of that next generation.
I worked for THQ Australia back when this game was being developed. I submitted the age rating to the OFLC which is the equivalent to the US version of the Entertainment Software Rating Board. The game was 'Refused Classification' due to the extreme violence in the interrogation methods when killing your enemy, so the game had to be watered down. So the release (not sure with the US one too) is that version, it was a pity because the original version I was playing was awesome. Still a great game though, this brings back some memories....
We need more Punisher game with Thomas Jane voice acting again because when I saw an Iron man comic and the movie, Robert Downey Jr. Looks exactly like Tony Stark and the same goes for Thomas as the Punisher which is why I like his movie, to bad there was no room in the budget for a battle van.
I think the closest game I could get to The Punisher's level of interactiveness in killing the enemies is the Yakuza series. But The Punisher's is still on a whole another level!
I loved this game which is one of the best comic/movie games to have ever been released and the different ways of interrogating and killing enemies was awesome! This is a game worthy of a remake.
This is hands down one of my favorite Marvel games, might actually be one of my favorite games of all time. As a shooter it is nothing special. It's a third person shooter where you can carry two weapons at a time, do a primitive dodge roll and throw grenades. Sometimes you shoot from the hip and sometimes you hold down a key to do little bit of precision aiming. So in that regard this game would be pretty forgettable. But it all changes when you take into account the ways you can fuck people up in this game besides of just shooting them. You can take human shields, throw enemies through windows or push them through doorways so that the guy gets lit up by friendly fire. Then there are the insane quick kills where Castle just demolishes people in variety of ways. Aaand then there are the interrogations and the berserk mode. I mean all that makes you feel like an absolute power house and angel of death in this game, something other shooters could learn from.
This is honestly, quite possibly, my favourite game of all time. Played it to death when it came out, on PC and then Xbox. Still jump back in every now and again and go through the whole story.
Oh my! The nostalgia in this video! I remember how my friend showed this game on my visit. One of the memories I have graved into my memories was the "join to the family" joke we made. :joy: (In the game, there was this one poster signed "join to the family", and we kinda sticked to that catch phrase and used it as a oneliner for comedic executions...
I always thought it was so cool that you get to feed a guy to a shark during an interrogation sequence. Damn I love this game so much. I loved the first Punisher movie as a kid and I didn't even realize that the dude who played the Russian was Kevin Nash.
It sucks that the closest punisher game we have now is a modded game, but still fun with the right music at right moments :) ua-cam.com/video/Nhr4X2PFcIo/v-deo.html

The fact that it was a direct sequel to Thomas Jane's 2004 Punisher movie makes this or perhaps one of the best comic book/movie/video game joining the Arkham Series and Insomniac's Spiderman and of course Spiderman 2 for the Playstation 2.
Man this game is really a fucking master piece
Interrogations were awesome and the quick kills to me are still the best melee i've ever seen in a shooter, i don't know why it hasn't caught on.
This was easily on of the best games I’ve ever played. I need to find a way to play it again
I remember my dad had this game an I always looked forward to playing it whenever I went to his house not sure if I was supposed to be playing it at 13 tho lol
ps2 emulator is how ive played it last year never finished it but now i might
The music is insane. I think I have memorised each level, that is how much I love and I have played this game. Best.
My only gripe with this game was in the demo you weren't penalized for performing the executions in the demo but you were in the full game.
I absolutely loved this game. It came out while I was in the Marines. My team mates and i would drink beers and play for hours! Thanks for the memories!
Saw your username, The Punisher Born really was a brilliant comic! Your comment, really made me smile.
This started my love for the punisher, crazy game
Him & Wolverine were the main two for me tbh!
I can’t believe I forgot about that coffin scene lmao
This game was definitely cool with the locations and executions
Very weird how this video came out right after I've finished replaying the game for the first time in fifteen years...
I found it at my local used video game store and impulse bought it immediately for I fucking loved this game as a kid! Pleasantly surprised by how well it holds up AND it's one of the few original Xbox games that's able to go widescreen on HD TV's! Was totally getting a Saints Row vibe playing the game! Great game! Great video! Wish they'd make another Punisher game goddammit!
I still play this game to this day! The level when he was hiding the coffin with the M60 at the funeral! One of the best adaptations of the iconic Punisher!
Literally my favorite game as a kid, even more than GTA. Literally had some of the best game mechanics and graphics of its time. An open world punisher game would have been a global smash hit.
There was a cancelled sequel by volition that was using the open world assets of Saints Row series.
The one I always remember was at the chop shop you could dip the guys head in chrome!
It definitely would be cool to see some of these licensed characters get their own games with next gen paint.
So glad someone else is recognizing the greatness of this game
Here's to hoping this shows up in everyone's recommend 🤞
Thanks homie! We'll see
Hello. I come from my recommended. So your wish came true.
@@jpz2009 poggers 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Remember playing this as a 14 year old after school. The violence was on another level and it felt so great relieving school stress with this game on the weekends.
This game and The Suffering are 2 of my favorite "M" rated games from my childhood.
The manual for this game was awesome too. Great game start to finish.
One of my favorite games. I remember buying the Xbox version to play on the 360 and was pleasantly surprised that it was done by the Saints Row people- some of my favorite games of that next generation.
This Game is a Masterpiece and it makes me want a New Punisher Game.WE NEED A NEW PUNISHER GAME!!!
i remember playing this such a great game my favorite part was when youre at a funeral and you just hop out the casket and start murdering everybody
Would be great if they would bring it back and remove the censoring now that we have an R18+ rating.
He has a van in Dirty Laundry. It just needs more... modifications. 😁
This was just a overall pretty cool game. I got this so fast on lay away. Finishes were brutal for the time
I think the closest game I could get to The Punisher's level of interactiveness in killing the enemies is the Yakuza series. But The Punisher's is still on a whole another level!
Dead to right retribution, Sleeping Dogs, Manhunt 2, Condemned 2
I've never played this game, but I saw game play and the it got seared in my brain as well. This game is crazy yo
“I can’t believe he let me live….”
Still makes me laugh 😂
Best video game comic adaptation. I had crazy fun with the game also. The gun play was insane.
You covered this gane super well man, gave me a big nostalgia trip! Thanks earned a sub for sure!
Thanks for covering this gem my dude, a great video and a good time as always.
Great video 👍 seems like no one ever talks about this game
I loved this game which is one of the best comic/movie games to have ever been released and the different ways of interrogating and killing enemies was awesome! This is a game worthy of a remake.
Loved this game and the Russian level in the apartment was my favourite level
3:50 Yes beautiful art ❤
Still jump back in every now and again and go through the whole story.
i was like 5 or 6 when this came out and it was a blast.
for the nostalgia, i downloaded and finished it again 2 weeks ago. masterpiece, to this day.
Oh my! The nostalgia in this video!
I remember how my friend showed this game on my visit. One of the memories I have graved into my memories was the "join to the family" joke we made. :joy: (In the game, there was this one poster signed "join to the family", and we kinda sticked to that catch phrase and used it as a oneliner for comedic executions...
i’ve been looking forward to this
Hope it holds up
I always thought it was so cool that you get to feed a guy to a shark during an interrogation sequence. Damn I love this game so much. I loved the first Punisher movie as a kid and I didn't even realize that the dude who played the Russian was Kevin Nash.
this games awesome, I would really love to see the remastered on steam :)
It sucks that the closest punisher game we have now is a modded game, but still fun with the right music at right moments :) ua-cam.com/video/Nhr4X2PFcIo/v-deo.html
So much nostalgia with the game. The gameplay of this game will forever be burned into my brain. I had no business playing this as a young child, but I'm glad I did.
The Punisher definitely contributed to my love of dark toned, graphically violent games. Similar games are basically all I play. Games with Cartoon graphics and bright colors don't appeal to me at all.
There was also a book.
Read it and it told about things that the movie had actually cut out!
Worth a read if you like punisher at all
Ps- this game was soooooo good for it’s time!
Amazing in the day
Hopefully Disney allows marvel to do something with this! This game would bring so much more money to them if they remade it!
@@ChaoticLimited yes! That would also be dope I’m fine with a remake or a whole new story but they also need to make sure they put some of the ideas from this game in those games whatever they do!
Yeah, that's the one thing I wish this game had, a little more backstory into Frank
This game was incredible!! I remember playing the hell outta this, a remaster would be fantastic
It sucks that the closest punisher game we have now is a modded game, but still fun with the right music at right moments :) ua-cam.com/video/Nhr4X2PFcIo/v-deo.html
don't ma man pin da first comment??
🤔
What an awesome game!! I remember playing the demo for hours and then taking a bunch of old games to get credit and buy the game when it came out. Now I need to binge play this on a weekend I have no plans.
