The wonderful community members of Rockaway Beach have pointed out a few corrections, which we really appreciate! First, Pronto Pup (the originator of a type of corn dog that uses pancake batter) was started right there in Rockaway Beach, OR. You will find most of the driftwood on Nedonna and Manhattan beaches, north of town - in fact, the lack of debris on Rockaway Beach makes it great for running/walking/children. Lake Lytle is pronounced LIE • tle, plus there is also Nedonna Pond, Crescent Lake, as well as Spring Lake! There is an annual kit festival and 4th of July parade (plus many more activities!). Have you ever considered doing a video on towns that aren't ON the coast, but about 20 miles or so away? My grandma has friends who chose to retire to Myrtle Point (in Coos County; about 20 miles from Bandon) rather than the immediate coast, so they could benefit from summers that are about 10 F warmer on average, sunnier, and less fog and wind. Coos Bay's average high in August is 67 F; Myrtle Point's is 78 F.
Definitely a consideration, yes! We do get a lot of people asking about towns like this, in close proximity but not right at the beach. Stay tuned and thanks for watching!
