Great sound. Really fantastic! Congratulations!!!
Love that thing. Also like you're take on 'sounding like yourself' - that bass sounds like nothing else. just beautiful.
Too be honest, I’ve been playing bass for a year, and still haven’t found my own signature sound. However, I’ve heard fretless basses and people playing fretless and I think the sound is much richer tonally. I think I might give it a shot. It just sounds more appealing to my ears. In addition, it feels nicer.
In your opinion, is the sound each individual has a sound each individual has to like? In other words, do I have to like my own sound for it to be my own? Because everything I play, with the exception of a few things, sounds unappealing to myself. If I myself like the sound of warm tones on roots and chord tones and don’t like super fast improv, yet I play the latter more, which is my sound?
I will say that you made a very very good point and I like the way how you handle that about playing a fretless and not trying to sound like Jaco because that fretless sound was definitely a trademark you said so hard to try not to sound like him excellent concept
Fretless bass comes down to your development as a player beyond your influences. Don't get too wrapped up in someone else's style..
I loved it ! Great playing !!!!
I love the Diva. Gorgeous, sounds great.
For those of us in the USA who don’t have $5K to spend, check out the Ibanez Portamento line. Lots of great tone options, great fretless feel and sound.
Bravo
In the end it's just two wood planks glued together, cut and sanded down, then varnished, some strings, tuning knobs and some pickups with controls. But hey if you think it's worth as much as they are asking then go for it, that's all on you! Me, well my least expensive fretless bass cost me only $109.99 and I am sure what matters most between the two, is the skill and emotion behind the player. Also good bass amp/speaker cab helps.
Well the devil is in the details for me so of cause I think high-end basses is worth every penny but that's just me. I'm happy for you that you didn't need to spend more money on your bass to fulfil your needs
That is an absolute beauty! Is that 37 inch scale?
It's 34" scaled bass :-) but it looks like 37" with the three-octave range
