Had some great times at the Superdome. Seen some great acts, some of which never worked anywhere else in the UK only at the Superdome, some good animal acts and i even got shaved by an elephant one year, good old Dum Dum. Great times always at the Superdome Circus.
Happy days being front of house manager in 1992 & 1993. I really miss those times. I went on to work with touring circus after, until my back packed in.
Yes he was ring master at the superdome until it sadly closed. He's a lovely man & went on to do the touring circus route like me. How I miss the wonderful, but very hard work, of the circus.
@@lana5056 As a heads up I was 7 or 8 at the time. The circus trip was organised by staff from BA at Glasgow Airport where my dad worked. Not sure how I could form a reasonable and coherent argument with any adult about my views with the limited scope of knowledge and vocabulary I had at the time. As a person who works within the realms of child psychology i can safely safe your comment is nonsensical.
Derek Ogilvie 6942..I worked at the Superdome Circus as front of house manager for several years. I had access to all areas & NO animals were treated cruelly or unkindly quite the opposite. All their needs were top priority & their needs were taken care of 1st. So get your facts right before you start spouting off about animal cruelly as you really don't know what you are talking about. Even when i worked for touring Circuses the animals, rightly, took top priority.
@@derekogilvie6942 were you there? did you see the day to day running of the place? You have a biased impression not based on any facts. Don't bother replying i won't be replying to you anymore.

I used to know the show off by heart being the front of house manager. Such happy days x
Is that Norman Barrett at the start

I still have my tickets for the last old style Tower Circus performance in October 1990......definitely no animals after that so this cannot be 1993
This is the Superdome Circus at the Blackpool Pleasure Beach operated by Peter Jay from 1991 to 1996
@@andrewlewis5642 ah! That explains it. Thanks for that, Andrew
No clown?
Shameful and disgusting using animals like this. Even as a child in the 70's I knew it was wrong.
But you still went obviously. Get educated before commenting. AR

@@ravendebonaire9346 Absolute and utter nonsense. Animals should be in their natural habitat. Period. No discussion.
