Well, if you were a second year Boy Scout I'd say it was pretty good. Not what I would call bushcraft or a survival shelter. Maybe a fort for the kids. And he obviously doesn't care about his axe blade, sharpening those limbs straight into dry rocky soil... You can do better.

that old tree had huge broken branches behind it, why doesn't he think that any more will fall? It looks great, but not safe. And the ground is so dry that it bent his shovel. Be careful with that fire.

The thing about these videos that I don’t understand is that well for one they’re very cool don’t get me wrong, but how do they deal with mosquitoes? I mean half of the time I see when they’re finished with these that literally there are some parts of their homes/craft that literally have holes and cracks for mosquitoes can get in so?

But..... What if it rains? The wind blows? You accidentally kick the bottom log on your A frame wall? What's the point of the moss just on the front? I love the setting, and the "shelter" looks like an awesome fort for kids but...... Seems impractical and like it wouldn't provide shelter from much of anything but the sun.
What bothers me is that huge bonfire... in a survival situation you would never waste resources or give up stealth or at least privacy to have that huge fire . Also more chance of a forest fire. I saw all that hot ash on camera... dumb. I also saw how dry it was because it took massive amounts of water to make that mud clay. Small fire lots of gathered fuel, closed in to keep dry and close to your shelter or in your shelter such as that small fireplace built in the back of the stump. That kids fort is cute but for the most part only good for where there are no predators, where its not cold, or raining or snowing... sorry call it a fun fort build not survival. We expect more.

The thing about these videos that I don’t understand is that well for one they’re very cool don’t get me wrong, but how do they deal with mosquitoes? I mean half of the time I see when they’re finished with these that literally there are some parts of their homes/craft that literally have holes and cracks for mosquitoes can get in so?

But..... What if it rains? The wind blows? You accidentally kick the bottom log on your A frame wall? What's the point of the moss just on the front? I love the setting, and the "shelter" looks like an awesome fort for kids but...... Seems impractical and like it wouldn't provide shelter from much of anything but the sun.

What bothers me is that huge bonfire... in a survival situation you would never waste resources or give up stealth or at least privacy to have that huge fire . Also more chance of a forest fire. I saw all that hot ash on camera... dumb. I also saw how dry it was because it took massive amounts of water to make that mud clay. Small fire lots of gathered fuel, closed in to keep dry and close to your shelter or in your shelter such as that small fireplace built in the back of the stump. That kids fort is cute but for the most part only good for where there are no predators, where its not cold, or raining or snowing... sorry call it a fun fort build not survival. We expect more.
