You could photocopy the mask template onto a sheet of label paper then cut those out.

Excellent review as always. I have never built an ICM Kit and this definitely has tweaked my interest.

Very good review Gary. A bit of a return to the old format with a bit of history, very welcome.
48 isn't my scale but the review gives a good impresion of general quality. those flow lines seem to be on all kits and nothing to worry about.
That aerial under the fuselage might give you a bit of fun (?) in cleaning up the joint and the flow gates straight into the edge, well thats what sanding sticks are for.
I thought there were a few ejector pin marks on some of the engine parts, but they have to get it out somehow.
That dimple just below the cockpit you were concerned about looks like the sort of feature we might use to cover a vent or something, to make it suck not blow so might be meant to be there. Is there another on the other side?
Lovely engines, but no crew. Oh I do wish the makers would include some, still I suppose task for the modeller.
Loads of spare bits for the odd parts bin can't be bad.
Oh the bulge under the body, when its a place for a gunner they call it gondola, but in modern aircraft they'd call it a weapons pack.
That's one thing I miss from the old fashioned Airfix instructions in that they told you what things were called, surprisingly educational but no good in a modern multilingual world I suppose.
It should give you a bit of fun, I look forward to seeing you make it.

The Luftwaffe equivalent of the Hurribomber - now /that/ would be a nice kit too :)
Looks a lovely kit Gary, unfortunately 1/48 is just too big for me as I don't have that space once built. Wouldn't mind this in 1/72

The kit looks very nice, Gary. I just wish ICM would add some rows of rivets to the panel lines on the model. I’m no rivet counter mind you but these would add interest to an otherwise plain finish, in my opinion. 🙂 Anyway, the kit is on my shopping list. Thank you for the review.
I liked the history of the different 1/48 kits through time section.
I think i got a 1/72 for Christmas back in the early nineties though. Can't remember what the kit manufacturer was. Probably Airfix or Matchbox etc.
I need to know more history of the Mistel version. Never heard of it until you built one recently.

ICM always seems to get its marketing right, what a nice release just before their B26 which everyone l think is waiting for l know l am, as firefox said smooth belly Ju world be great maybe a night fighter or a torpedo bomber that would go well with the Beaufort, as a tank buster that airframe must have took some punishment from the recoil
I did technical drawing in school *coughcough* years ago and I couldn't remember the view so I looked it up. In tech drawing there are four views 'Isometric view (dimetric and trimetric view) Orthographic view (front, side, top, bottom and back views) Section view. Cut-out view'. ICM's is Isometric.
Re the nose, IIRC originally there was a perspex nose but the gun recoil was far too much for it - and the crew - so it was changed for a solid nose.
Thanks Julian. I used to know this stuff years ago. Both nose options are in this kit, along with the relevant muzzle breaks.

They already have a night fighter and a torpedo bomber from the same baseline 2015 tooling - check them out on Scalemates. Yes I’m eagerly awaiting the B-26, rumour is a March release in which case I’ll hear from them in a week or two!

This Icm kit looks like a good kit. I have a 1/72 Revell Ju-88. Hopefully it fits better than a typical Revell offering!

Given the way they break down the kit I think smooth belly Ju-88s will come along as well. I can ask them! Any particular version you are thinking of?
