@@jizou1581 Depends on if the actor could’ve sold the role as well as Evans did. Plenty of actors aren’t anything special in their roles but some actually sell the performance so well that it’s hard to picture anyone else doing it.

The first two phases yeah, but after that they went into some weird ass direction and straight up ruined some characters in both shows and movies

@@kubu9714 Steve was always worthy to lift Mjolnir. He didn't do it out of respect for Thor. There is no "almost worthy" or "not worthy enough". You can either lift Mjolnir or you can't. And with all due respect, with everything Steve has been through up to that point, all of the sacrifices he made and his willingness to keep on standing up for what is right and defending those who can't defend themselves - even if it cost him his life - you don't get any worthier than that. Civil War was merely a difference of opinion over accountability for their actions, not a defining moment for Steve's worthiness.

Standing up against insurmountable odds, alone, and with a broken shield and a broken arm, and heavily damaged right thigh. you can bee the broken arm/wrist if you pause exactly at 6:08. Cap is nearly god level endurance and his will to never surrender is practically a force of nature.

Characters like Steve rogers are the reason you want your kids watching superhero movies, it’s not just about the badass fighting it’s about the intangibles a good person should have through life
I watched cap with my daughter so much, Id pick her up from day care and she'd ask to go home and watch it. She was also the first to say Red Skull when he showed up in infinity war. Proud dady moment.
Captain has been my hero since I was a child. He has a shield as a weapon, none lethal, but capable of saving lives. I've always been a man that runs towards danger, not from it. I named my guardian after him and he protects me. I simply can't identify with any other hero. Saving others and doing the right thing has been in my DNA for my entire life. I'm so glad that Evans played the character. I can't think of anyone else better suited.

Captain america is the only one who is closer to batman otherwise all marvel heroes are just about entertainment and nothing else.
Cap reminds me of that quote, “Always stand for what you believe in, even if you’re standing alone.” Especially when he’s standing there against Thanos and his whole army.
I'll be honest, I never really cared for Cap for the longest time. I was always a fan of Iron Man when it came to the comics, and he was my favorite in the movies. I never saw the appeal. Even after the first movie, I thought he was all right. The second movie really changed everything for me, and over time, Cap became my favorite hero and I look back on the first movie fondly. And I look up to him a lot.
A LOT of people slept on his first movie.
Since it isn't as fantastical as Thor or tech savvy & quippy as Ironman and is old fashioned.
It went right over their heads and they didn't catch it.

The 2 points of the film that did it for me were when it was pointed out he'd tried to enlist 5 different times in 5 different cities and was so god damned loyal to his fellow man (Despite them routinely humiliating him once he got into the program) He was still willing to fall on a grenade for them without even a moment's hesitation.
It's the same reason he got the serum, a man that staunchly loyal and trusting without question? Say what you will about Thor's hammer or Tony Stark's iron-man suits, it made him stick out ahead of the pack.

This hits different for me. My younger brother, whom unfortunately is no longer among the living, always saw me in this light the way you showed who Captain America is. This video just reminds me of how good of a man Captain America is and why everybody loves him even non-Americans love him and that's because of what he stands for, doing the right thing even if it hurts you, your friendships, or your reputation. and standing up for the average person or the little guy. "I put my faith in people... individuals and I'm happy to say for the most part they haven't let me down, that's why I can't let them down". Also, I'm team cap, if I have the ability to save people during a crisis I'm not gonna wait for the government to say "ok now you can go save lives".

The saddest part is that steve knew he was a soldier and soldiers dont go home. It's something that when you sign up, you sign up knowing. His ending was perfect and it's all I was waiting 11 years for. Talk about balling your eyes out next to strangers. My dogs name is captain america, he saves the day. Every year I come back to this video and I still get chills. I get chills when Steve picks up the hammer. I get chills when he's facing down Thanos' army. But most of all I get chills on the smallest segment of this video - the ending scene where Steve's dancing with Peggy in the living room. Sam asks if he wants to tell him about her, and Cap simply says no....no I don't think I will. As if what they shared was simply a pure love between two people........................and that it was theirs alone.
I'm so glad they finally got to have that dance.

4:00 That scene in Infinity War when he stands toe to toe with Thanos. The look in Thanos' eyes was so epic. He could feel that Cap, while strong, was no match for him. Yet he stood in awe of his grit and determination.

I always connected to Steve because of his comic background (his dad beat his mom and shed never back down from him/stay down hence why he keeps standing up saying "I could do this all day" because his mom made such an impact on him) and I never felt they did him justice. But this? This was the best tribute I've seen.

Tyler Manharth That’s the ultimate version of Caps background not his original 616 mainline marvel universe background. His og background is more or less the one you got in the films his father was a soldier in the First World War who died and his mother was sickly and died when he was still young. He looked up to his fathers sacrifice and his mother’s compassion

The reason why Cap is my favorite super hero is because unlike other hero’s he would fight for what’s right no matter what without a moment of hesitation. Even if the syrum was undone Steve would still try and fight. Other hero’s fight because they have the power to and they fight because they know that “great power comes with great responsibility” but Steve fights because he wants to stick his hands in the mud and build something better.

I'm a DC guy but I must admit, Captain America is the most well developed hero to ever grace a movie screen.
His character perfectly fits the ideal of what a selfless virtuous wise warrior is and should be.

DC has some good characters, I like me some Batman, and the more straightforward and positive Superman stories. But they don't have anybody like Steve Rogers.

Superman receives his ideals as wisdom from his parents, but he never faces real difficulties in his origins, he's a nigh-invulnerable demigod.

I thought I cried when Natasha died. I really thought I cried at Tony Stark’s funeral. But when Steve finally got his dance with Peggy? I was flat out blubbering... just openly sobbing.
I felt like crying too (I didn't in the end, only felt "happy sadness" cause he finally got his dance) but afterwards when I looked back at this the first thing that popped into my mind was "Hold up! So does this mean he canonically kissed his own niece in CA:CW?"

The amount of time and discussion that must be involved in crafting the scripts and the dialogue in these movies is unfathomable. There is hardly a throw-away line anywhere. Everything they say and do ties together in some way. The MCU is beyond a masterpiece.
The 4th episode of Falcon and the Winter Soldier shows the perfect demonstration of both these comments. It's incredible how Marvel hide and symbolise meanings within dialogues and actions. The greatest movies of our era.
Captain America's storyline contained the best character developments and dialogues

They always talk about how tragic is thor's story, but for me, the pain that steve suffers, the pain that steve held all of these times, being in a totally different world after being frozen. Fighting his best pal, struggles with himself and who he is.... is so tragic. I'm glad he got redeemed in every possible way in Endgame
Steve rogers is the epitome of the western masculine and Ubermenchen of sorts with his heart guided by something true , a man who chooses what he believes is right and as such is a beacon to all of those who cannot decide themselves . His heroism is the most human to me at least .

Take the patriotism out of it, Cap's not a patriot he's more of a rebel. A patriot blindly follows the orders of those who hold national power. Cap was a patriot in WW2 but after coming out of the ice he realized that America had lost it's way. This is why he dropped that shield so many times throughout these films, that's his way of saying if I have to choose between being a Patriot and being a good man, I'm picking a good man every time. Steve had to pick between being a patriot or a good man. Thor had to pick between being a King and a good man and Black Panther was told it is hard to be a good man and a King by his Father. All three of these heroes chose being a good man over their political and social leanings. This is why Steve could lift Thor's hammer because both he and Thor or good men at their core.

Chris and the MCU team really brought Captain America/Steve Rogers to life for me, too. To be honest, I was never a Captain America fan all my life. I went back and watched some of the acting of the past of guys who tried to do Captain America and...uh...they weren't quite so good (putting it mildly). This was all just so very brilliant!
We can have another Captain America, just not another Steve Rogers, because that's Chris Evans

We saw what happened when someone slightly less "good" got the power. And we saw what happened when someone that Steve believed was worthy of the mantle took it up, even without the power. In the end, Erskine was right. The power was simply a tool, it's the character of the person wielding it that truly matters.

The reason i love Steve is this: He represents an America where you didn't have to be rich, smart or gifted with immense talent to still be a worthwhile person. He embodied kindness, compassion, honour and a willingness to always fight and stand up for the dignity of the human spirit. It's the America i hope can emerge from these truly dark and disturbing times.

How no one connects Cap moving alone towards Thanos and his army with his speech in Winter Soldier disappoints me greatly. He showed that he is a man of his words in that scene more than any other character in the MCU.

I wish, WISh, they'd given him the line that he had in the comics when he stood against Thanos, about how if only one man stands against Thanos, Thanos still won't win.
As a kid I was properly bullied, here in the UK in he 80s as a half cast was a rare thing to see in a small town, one day I came home from school crying and this was maybe the 1000th time at least and I was about ten now, my mum called me towards her and slapped me round the face and said "get out there and find that kid and u make sure you beat him up...do not come home until you do" found him like 2 hours later, and did what she said , me an that kid shook hands after and after that he never bullied me again, I was still more placid in my early teens but I was almost the full height and stocky build I am now, while new school new set of bullies, and a teacher said to me , "never back down, if fall to the ground get up like it was nothing and smile at them , make them think they cant hurt you" this happened a lot , and most would leave it but one day an 18 year old kid rid by me on his bike said something awful to me and I booted him off his bike, this which i didn't know was the hardest kid around, an basically he sat on top of me punching me in the face, the first time he got up to leave i just said "is that all u got?" After the 4th time he stopped he started crying an got on his bike an went wherever , so I realised then you dont even need to fight really your words can diffuse most but even if it's just talking you never back down, its demoralising seeing someone get up after you just beat them and they just dont stop coming forward...now I'm not saying violence is the key, but we are a violent species , some times running isnt the way, talking isnt the way, become a very good actor because it's all just an act, everyone acts, just some are better than others, 39 now, been in the army climbed mountains, done some amazing stuff , and I dont think I would have had the confidence to do any if my mum didn't do that on

I swear out of all of the famous lines from the film, this is definitely the one that resonates the most with me, aside from “I can do this all day.”
One of my favorite moments in all of film was when Captain America tightens his shield to close an open wound and walks towards Thanos even though he can barely stand... staring at Thanos' army of thousands and knowing he is going to die.... but the world deserved to go down with a fight... and -- like he said in Winter Soldier -- "The price of freedom is high but it's a price I'm willing to pay. And If I'm the only one, then so be it"...
Such a great character and portrayal from Evans. I don't think there will ever be a character quite like Captain America.
A man who is respected by a God whom we all consider the strongest worthy Avenger, and that God follows this man's lead in the fight against a Titan and his army.

@@xaviergutierrez8786 Exactly. Look at all the other fictional (or fictionalized) heroes of legend who have inspired people. For example, King Arthur and the whole mythos of Camelot inspired a chivalric ideal for years.
Every culture has heroic legends for a reason. In our culture, that's taken the form of comics. Steve Rogers is one epic example of a truly good person who isn't great because of his powers, but because of his courage and character. That, IMO, is the measure of a TRUE hero.
Best of all, the qualities that make Steve a hero are ones that we can all emulate, if we only try.

Why assume he'd fight Red Skull? RS didn't seem like he was anything like what he was before. My take is that he had a good 70 years or so in exile to think about things--a grander picture. It would be interesting if they had a genuine conversation that was highly reconciliatory and RS was no longer some villain, but just a powerful figure who had chosen to be the gatekeeper for the soul gem for a few millennia.
I think him going back creates a loop where thanosnnever existed and the timeline restarstsb

I will literally never get over how FREAKING GREAT the MCU is!! Three MAJOR characters died/ended their stories in Endgame, and literally nothing went to waste. Honestly, I will never understand why some people dislike Cap. He is honestly everything I strive to be as a person minus closeness to God.

Loyal.

Brave.

I understand he said it out of anger, but even he should've realized how wrong it was the moment it left his lips. Cap willingly sacrificed a long life of love, stability and family to ensure the safety of the world. He had no idea he'd survive the crash. A man who "died" in the 1940s came back to a simultaneously progressed and regressed world where morals meant nothing and money was everything. Everything and and almost everyone he knew was gone. And he still fought for the world he found himself in. Steve clawed his way through life, and becoming Captain America gave him the chance of a lifetime, and he did not waste one second. The instant the Tessaract came back, the instant any threat overshadowed the world, he was there. Fighting for a world he didn't even understand. That is why he is and always will be my favorite Avenger.
