McKechnie’s Farewell (John Somerville) - Mandolin

This tune is based on the dots provided on Nigel Gatherer’s website - nigelgatherer.com/tunes/tunes... - where it’s described as a slow reel. I’ve played it more like a slow air.
I took delivery yesterday of the Paul Shippey Axe Mandolin I play in the video, which I have been waiting 2.75 years for! (I believe Paul’s waiting list for an instrument at the moment is around 3 years). It is a retirement present to myself! Well worth the wait! I’m looking forward to getting to know the instrument.
