I'm so confused as to why some of the holds you selected. I understand the principles of ultimate X.but you probably made it quite a bit harder on yourself by some of the choices. Either way I enjoy watching higher limit play,rather it is on VP or slots

Missed straights. Not holding aces. Definitely hurt his odds significantly. He is playing 7 hands.
I noticed the same thing. He wants the Royal Flush, but never holds the cards for it.
You should never hold AQ3 hoping for a flush. You just hold the AQ.
Plain and simple they have no idea what they're doing....
This kind of play is where the casino gets their edge.

Typically what I do is put in anywhere from 200 to 2000 and my goal is to double my money.
Depending on the game, how much I could potentially win and ofcourse.. perhaps the most important part, how the game is playing.
If I lose half my money without winning anything I'm cashing out.
If it's back n forth I'll go down with the ship.
If I double my money pretty quick I'll cash out and put the house money back in and the strategy continues.
Slots n table games alike.
It all remains the same.
I do believe it's important to have some type of strategy
If I get on a machine with no plan it's usually an all or nothing scenario.

Thank you for sharing your losing sessions as well as your winning ones. I won $2200 a month ago, and it took me all of April to lose it all back plus more. It sucks to lose, but that is the unfortunate reality of gambling, and I'm glad you are willing to show it! Ultimate X is definitely a fun game, but if you don't hit something big, it will suck your money up really fast!

Slow down, can't enjoy the hands
I used to play video poker all the time in Vegas when my sister lived there. Somebody who played a lot taught me to hold only one face card unless they were suited when it’s jacks or better. That way you have more chances to at least get the jacks or better on the one face card that you saved rather than only three chances to match one or the other face card if you saved unsuited face cards. Was I wrong to do it that way? Reason I ask is that I noticed that Matt will save for example a jack of hearts and Queen of clubs.
Let’s just say it’s best not to learn watching UA-cam.

Hold 2 or 3 for a Royal, not in your favor.
If money 💰 is no problem, then you hold 2 or 3.
But, not everyone has $$$$ to throw !

I agree with your play. Always hold the highest face card playing SDDB. Not sure if WIZARD OF ODDS would agree but to me opens up more probability for more combos
On Jacks or Better you can expect to hit a royal once every 40,000 hands. A dealt royal once every 46,000 hands. To go 100,000 hands without a royal is not a statistical abberation.
Just for added flair why not change what is "Held" automatically. Example they want you to hold a Ace dont do it.

Holding 3 to a regular flush seems risky.
In Ultimate X when there are low multipliers it is often the optimal play.
The reality of gambling right here..but sometimes chasing your loses can be rewarding..this is why its a gamble

Who told you what cards to hold? It's so basic to write your own program to figure it out. You would realize you make a lot of -EV plays. However, you seem to win, so keep it up but you could minimize your losses. It's painful sometimes to watch your moves
I go to the high limit video poker and actually look for this game in particular just to see if any "Next Game" multipliers are still up, and if so, I'll drop a dollar or two to play it. Best bet in the house.
You don't know how to play this game. It's painful to watch. Many mistakes over and over again in choosing what cards to keep.
8:45 misplayed badly
I work for a landscape co and when I say “watch n learn” I say “mira y aprende cabron” which is the Spanish version of it.
that kind of take does not occur in large so cal casinos, caliland of unregulated slots 2000 usually will last for 12 hours of play, i have seen $100,000 jackpots on ultimate x at pala casino, you gotta go where the casinos are PACKED full of patrons, big money in=big money out, yer blowin it........roadtrip before you have no money left.....

1. People lose in So Cal all the time. Gross gambling revenue is higher in California (8.5 billion) than the Vegas strip (7.3 billion).
2. Slot Machines in California are heavily regulated.
3. The odds of a given video poker machine are determined by the published paytables, not by the amount of foot traffic nearby. The random number generator in the machine’s software is unaffected by the number of people crowding the area around the machine.
Vegas, you always tell us you've won big on video poker but I only ever see you lose and lose big and fast!!!

I don't get the strategy of holding 3/5 of a flush all the time, especially when having two face cards/Ace for 2/5 of Royal. Unless it's gapless straight flush making up those 3, only play the high suited cards.
Ultimate X has radically, radically different strategy than regular video poker, and if you don’t learn the rules changes you’re better off sticking with slots or table games. 3/5 of a flush is regularly an optimal hold because of the resulting multiplier, though it depends on the existing multipliers on the board.
But it’s essential to learn the rules changes.
Have you ever checked out the strategy tables at the Wizard of Odds?

Why don't you play more exciting VP games like double double and triple double. You play bonus deluxe for hours and have no way to a big win unless you are lucky to get a royal

Thus isn’t bonus deluxe. It’s bonus poker. And playing the most volatile game on Ultimate X at $100/hand that $2,000 will be gone in no time.

There are multiple times when you absolutely, absolutely hold three to a straight flush, and even more so on Ultimate X. This is basic strategy. Don’t show up to the comments section and encourage bad play.
Hell if that were true it would be true for all 3 to a draw hands,every royal ive ever gotten except 2 were holding 3 to them,and the straight flush very similar

It did for me and then 3 times the next month. That was 20 years ago. Now, don't be so tight and break out another 5 grand and let's play some more. That was fun, bc it wasn't my money.

this is really sad, when you have a lot of $$ to waste, you don't need to know how to play correctly or what is the best strategy for "each" video poker game, just chase the multiplier and hope the machine will deal it to you, and that's what the casino like the most. stick to the slot machines and your chances of winning will increase, but not much.
Most of their plays are correct for ultimate x. I noticed a few minor errors, but the strategy is radically different for Ultimate X. If you don’t know that, it’s best to stick to slot machines.

Learn the rules difference for ultimate x: most of their plays were correct for the variant they were playing.

Just pointing this out but two pair in jacks are better. Pays the exact same so whenever you had kings and threes or jacks and 8s you should have just picked. The jacks are better hand and hope for a three of a kind. Yes, he would have better odds for the full house but full house only paid 25 whereas three of a kind pays 15. So if you're holding four cards, you'll only get 10 shots at trying to get the full house. Whereas if you hold two cards, you'll get 30 shots at trying to get three of a kind and full house at the same time. Play your odds!
This is such comically bad advice I’m almost wondering if it’s meant as a joke. Full house pays 35, not 25. You’re losing so much money if you drop two pair. Also, two pair automatically gives you a better multiplier. It’s better advice telling people to hit hard 17 in blackjack than what you just posted. Dear God….

Not in ultimate x with a relatively low multiplier count. You need to learn the rules changes or you should stick with the regular version of the game. But that is the correct play for the hand they had.
