- You know, videos like this make me seriously wonder if I have OCD, or something. I just go on and on about things, or I don't realize how long the video'll be when I'm mapping it out in my head. The main feature of the video begins at about 10:40 if you're feeling impatient.
This series is all about characters in video games who's frightening levels of power in whatever way have left me in complete awe, be it a massive amount of Hit Points, colossal earth-shattering strength, the ability to survive a large boulder landing on their head, etc.
As there are also many very strong enemy characters, this series isn't limited to just playable characters. The featured character of this episode is one of the most persistent villains of all.

You know Megaman's pissed when he says "I gonna do". No grammar whatsoever.
17.00
@Chong Leng Li, 17:00, 17 with only . doesn’t work
You also know he's pissed when he stops charging his buster just to tell you to die. Real smart move.
Every time I go back to this battle, I wonder:
"HOW DID I BEAT THIS GUY!?"
and...
"I WAS TEN!"
69 LIKES!!! POGS IN CHAT!
E tank spam
Bravissimo to you.
Honestly, I don't find him that hard (actually I consider the Wily capsule from Mega man 9 being the hardest one)
Wow... thats so out-of-character for Megaman to say... its so creepy just seeing him slooooowly say "D I E W I L Y"
That is english version only, in the japanese he gives up on that after Wily brings up the laws of robotics
honestly, I never felt that guilt you talked about. mega man throws a lot of bullshit difficulty in your face and it's nice to throw it right back from time to time.
+329link Yeah, I've changed my mind a lot since I made this video. Mega Man isn't a particularly fun character to control as it is, the last thing I would want to do to hamper myself further.
whoisthisgit I'd beg to differ on the part about Mega Man not being a fun character to control, but yeah, the Robot Master weapons are a primary mechanic of the games and using them is how they're meant to be enjoyed. It'd be like feeling guilty for using the copy abilities in a Kirby game, or for catching and battling with more than just your starter Pokémon.
329link once you throw instant death spikes at me, all bets are off
The Guardian Queen seriously, the spike protector in 11 became my favorite thing once I got to acid man’s stage.
@@logicaloverdrive8197 The spike protector is in megaman & bass too
The thing is, Mega Man 7 is the one time in which Mega Man temporarily seems to act more "Maverick-like" at the end.
SlidingSilver HMMMMMMMMMM
FORESHADOWING MUCH?
That's not Canon , Megaman acts as usual in the Japanese version
Both versions are cannon.
AuFish SD no they aren’t, how could Mega Man act differently in the same exact scenario twice? The Japanese version is the canon version, because Inafune said so (y’know...the guy who INVENTED MEGA MAN) and when asked about it, he said that he didn’t even know that happened
@@HCN-002OldChannel My main thought process was that MegaMan easily could have done that, and it makes sense that MegaMan would do that.
Also, I didn't know that that he said that, I don't really look up these things for a pretty insignificant conversation in a reply section.
And if you want to know why I think it makes so much sense, watch GeminiLaser's MM7 playthrough. The only reason he doesn't mention is the 0th law.
honestly megaman had every right to try and kill wily. hell hes tried taking over so many times already and falsely surrendered of course megaman was gonna be pissed enough even without the fight. the boss fight just added fuel to the fire
Mega man og would of been a good maverick
It also would’ve probably stopped Worse events from occurring in the future

Excuse me, I need a napkin to wipe the blood out of my ear....

Dustin Mitchell Thanks a *bunch* ;u;

Megaman 6: Hi, welcome to Megaman 6. Have fun!
Megaman 7: Hi, WELCOME TO HELL!!!!
6 is easy, the jet adaptor lets you do a bunch of things, the weapons are good, bosses are easy with their weaknesses (most of the time) and there are a bunch of E tanks and extra lives :)
MM7 bosses mostly are brutal although I like their variation of attacks.
Megaman 8: Hi, watch your step you'll do fine
Megaman 9: Abandon all hope.
>MM8: Hi watch your step, you'll do fine!
*Someone* forgot about the rocketboard section of Wily Stage 1. Poor, innocent child.
Noah Webb i hated the rocketboard sections in frostman and wily stage 1
19:03
Cool guys don't look at explosions.
Feel no guilt- the E-Tanks and Special Weapons exist for a reason. Half the fun in replaying the games lies in finding new ways to use the weapons effectively.
The seventh chapter, where Wily and Mega have finally had enough of each other and go for the sure-kill, Wily first having Bass infiltrate and destroy Mega's home, then creating the deadliest single-pilot war machine ever. Mega, in turn, understands the paradox of the First Law- letting Wily live means thousands of innocent humans die to his reprogrammed robots.
I'm kind of sad that the Archie comics never got to this game.
Yeah.
WhiteFangofWhoa seriously, I read through the run and it was awesome! I’m sad we got so little of bass, and didn’t get to see the battle with Cossack and the alien, while I did like the ending with dr light seeing how his actions affect the future, it would have been great to see that series continue.
Well if robots can’t hurt humans, those “thousands of people” shouldn’t die at all in the first place 😂
@@kpounder4908 And who knows if they actually die. They might be just put out of action without being dead. But granted Wily might had removed the three laws to his robots.
Elijah Tan that could be an option; Mega Man was created by Dr. Light, not Wily, and, being the bad guy, Wily probably removes the laws shortly after the first game, but pre existing robots (Mega Man included) wouldn’t be affected so Mega couldn’t kill wily but Wily could kill other people. I never thought of that.
13:29 - 13:44 Many years later this form of Wily returns in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as Assist Trophy
Along with baby brobot to Bass and King-turned-Maverick Hunter professional Zero, who cuts people with his Z-Saber.
+The #6 Runaway Guys Fan, Indeed
Well, since nobody else mentioned this... If you hold Up as you fire a charged Wild Coil, you can make it bounce high into the air. It is actually very easy to hit Wily's second form with Wild Coil. It's still a pain to dodge his orbs, although Thunder Bolt can help.
Using wild coil then immediately swapping to Thunder Bolt is how I defeated Wily using only one E Tank.
14:38 His slowed down death sound is interesting, and I find it to be more fitting for a canonical death that cannot be reversed.
Dr wily must have invented voltorbs, as they both have the ability to RAISE THEIR EYEBROWS
XD
Darren Spencer Wily predicted Pokemon
Sounds legit XD
Megaman was PISSED by this point, lol!!! Did you see how grumpily he walked away? He's just like "I don't CARE how horrible the game might be, I'M GONNA KILL THAT BASTARD!!!"
Also, to those preaching the laws of robotics (I hate those things... *is writing a story about robots*), Megaman's primary purpose was to defeat Dr. Wily. He's tried fighting without killing him for many years, but he still got away every time. Now, he finally gets him in jail where he belongs, and he STILL gets away! Mega just wants Wily to be GONE, whatever it takes! He's tried saving the day while following the rules, but each time it's been an internal failure.
I'd like to think that Mega aimed a shot at Wily and fired, and that caused him to short circuit because of the laws of robotics. That would explain why Megaman X comes in. I'd like to think that Mega just wanted the world to be safe, even if he couldn't see it.
True, but one thing to consider: In the original Japanese version, after Wily reminded Rock of that particular law of robotics, Rock didn't make a retort like he did in the English translation. Instead, as he turned his arm cannon back into a hand, his text box read, "......" This seems to imply that, in the original version, he realized that Wily was right. Still, the fact that he even considered killing the man certainly speaks to how tired he was of fighting Dr. Wily.
200puppy7 nice mate
I gonna***
What do you mean mm7 is bad?
There is a video of Mega Man and the three laws that explains that MM killing Dr.Willy wouldn't have broken the laws.
"Well, unless you do that, but that's not meant to happen..." OMFG LOL that is AWESOME
MM7 Bass was more calm, relaxed, and more wiser than MM8+ Bass. Flanderization, anyone?
...and is Mega Man actually HURTING Wily in the FACE in that Wily Machine battle at the end of MM7?
It's the zeroth law. A robot must defend humanity as a whole, even if they must disobey the first law to do so.
***** The Zeroth Law takes precedence over First. It is a logically generated law created to resolve an internal conflict contained in the First.
Megaman could still easily be a First Law compliant robot, as the Zeroth Law revokes First Law protection of threats to humanity. This is the most likely scenario, because Megaman is not a combat drone, but simply a repurposed housekeeper/lab assistant.
Also, I don't think zeroth is a person.
***** that's because a true AI has yet to be implemented into any device that can reasonably be used to end or save a life.
Well, in Megaman 8 Bass absorbs Evil Energy to try to beat Megaman, so he became angrier -and dumber.- And there should be some kind of window in the machine...
FieryExplosion yes, also his hand is a cannon but is still a hand
At the end, it mentions the Deadly 60...
Remove the 0, and it becomes the Deadly Six.
Possible foreshadowing?
And the award of most unnecessary comment goes to...
Me! Because it's been two years since the last comment. ;D
I was thinking of the deadly six too when it said that. XD
18:20 *Doh* Lol that Screw landing on his noggin! XD
Your Hardcore part when you play Megaman makes me remember that I have those same kind of "How could you be so useless as to resort to that?" moments when I heal in middle of battle in Pokémon
Same, I won the league without using items in battle :p
My english is shit, sorry
At least Megaman won't give you results based on RNG, so if you know a battle and still lose, the guilt is all yours to blame for.
Metal man: DONT ASK THIS AGAIN
After that fight wanting to murder Wily was my reaction too, my guess was his butt was still sore by the time Megaman got to the skull.
dang, 7 is not mega man's lucky number
Apparently, neither is 9.
MrGameAndSketch ironic your comment has 9 likes
Alternate ending: Megaman actually shoots a shot at his stomach and he experiences a slow but torturous death bleeding.
And to top it all off it gets banned in the USA because "hurr durr violence"
Sly Rocko Mmm... Is the opposite. Megaman saying that he can kill Willy is US translation. In the original game, he can't. And that proves that he is bound for the laws of robotics (Asimov's three laws).
dude, if he had killed wily in mm7, HE WOULD HAVE SAVED 3 OR 4 GENERATIONS AHEAD OF HIM (x,zero,zx, and maybe legends if its part of the same universe)
Wily really said to Megaman: " F MEGA MAN, IMMA BREAK OUT AND RUIN HIS ASS WITH MY ROBOTS AND GAME FUNCTIONS!!!!" In this game
The one thing I wondered about Mega Man games, what is that death animation supposed to even be? I have no idea
Maybe an explosion? Or maybe Mega Man's parts fleeing to a new life?
@@emilydioptase Probably the former. And when voice acting is involved, he screams like a little bitch. In 8, it's the ever-hilarious "WAH", and in 11 he's like "AAAAAARGH".
Gotta love how they put the Wily Machine 7 in Smash Bros
They shoulda made it a boss, not an assist trophy. Amirite?
@@SoldierMan755 dude yes
4:39
Was that the point that inspired the video "Leave My Ears Alone!"? :D
wily:"sorry for being a bastard. i will go now" megaman:"nope" xD
when megaman was about to shoot wily i was like "yeah do it"
If I were Mega Man, I'd ask Wily how many people HIS robots have harmed.
Wily's mad because he dropped the soap back in prison
And then he got raped, the end
I will be honest here, I think that the challenges in mega man 9 and 10 actually made players better and I can explain why.
I personally was someone who stuck to finding an easy boss, kill them and then go the rest of the game basically using no buster unless I am in the wily stages and you need to conserve energy for boss rush. When I saw those achievements, it drove me to become a better player who can do it buster only while taking no damage and I am sure others have as well, and I am equally sure that people who stuck to buster only runs ended up getting use to the new weapons and how to use them.
The only reason why you would want to say that you are horrible for using weapons or e-tanks is if you are going for a buster only or no damage run where you really want to prove that you can do it but give into temptation. There are the cases where it is hard as fuck to do these things (Mega man 7 wily machine being one of them), but it does not make you any less of a person for using a weapon or getting hit as these are normal things which happen epically against a hard boss.
Hell if we really wanted to get picky right here and now I would discredit anyone's perfect run who ends up even switching off the mega buster even if they are using rush or anything else on the weapon screen. That is a definition of a goal and it only huts you if you don't have the willpower to do it while you try.
Also, I'm so happy you did a video regarding my favourite video game series; not to mention my favourite game in the series. Although that boss fight was an absolute nightmare when I first did it XD
And regarding using weapons on robot masters, remember the wise words from a certain Let's Player: "All robot masters can be beaten with just the Mega Buster." I still have my doubts whether that applies to Burner Man though.
But still, it's not a sin to use weapons.
now... when his devil robots, especially Yellow?
@Ocsttiac Dammit, I didn't realize you could stop him unleashing the orbs with the Thunder Bolt. Guess I'll have to make another video to mention it.
To everyone thinking Mega Man should've straight up killed Wily in a mountain of blood: Laws of robotics, and no, "classic" Mega Man isn't involved in the X series in any way. If anything, X is a separate project, only bearing the name "Mega Man" for its moral purpose (fighting for everlasting peace).
Actually, it is related to Megaman, since X was created sort of as a "much MUCH better" version of the original Megaman.
cdsatcher I Didn't say X wasn't related to classic Mega Man:
- Both created by Dr Light
- Both sharing the same morale
- Both having similar designs
- Both bearing the name of Mega Man
Despite that, it is entirely possible X *is not* the classic Mega Man.
Does the law of robotics apply in the Mega Man universe? Because it doesn't seem to hinder much of the robots he has to take down.
Extremmefan BUT:
If he does kill doctor wily, he violates the 1st law
If he dosen’t kill doctor wily, doctor wily will kill more people, violating the 1st law
He should minimise death BY killing doctor wily, kill 1 guy who should be on death row anyway, or let them kill more innocents?
18:01 D-DIE WILY!!?? THIS IS A FAMILY FRIENDLY GAME MEGA MAN that never had threats of death before this!!!
At the sound of "you'll have to fight all 8 bosses again" I was like..."Someone hasn't played the Megaman Zero series. Ah the 12 or so boss battles you have to rekill a second or third time over. I just love the smell of OVERKILL in the morning!~
I hate when the Wily capsule or any final boss is immune to the Mega Buster! What on earth are you supposed to do if you run out of ammunition!
Commander James Use the M tanks to refill health and ammo silly. You have to have at least One
Not the case in Megaman 2. There was no M Tank in that game meaning that if you ran out of ammo for the Bubble Lead, your only hope was to die. This also cam into effect against the buebeam trap except with Crash Bombs instead of the Bubble Lead. So basically even worse.
Dickson 'Matt' Xenoblade ...except buebeam trap was easier. you had the exact amount of shots needed, but also a blast radius.
Myth you'd have to do the buebeam trap twice, cause crash bombs ran out before you can destroy all the necessary walls, requiring you to die and farm ammo for said weapon
NO
you have enough shots to beat it in one try.
Wily was arrested by his own robot, “police man” too. Although, it’s probably non-canon since it was in the Archie comics (i think?)
willy ... losing multi-million dollar castles in the blink of an eye 8:29
At first, Megaman 4 was the toughest and most difficult MM game I played on the NES. But eventually, I got the hang of it, and I played through the game with no problem whatsoever. Great game though. And just as fun as all the other MM instalments that came out during the NES and SNES eras.
I can't help but Imagine the conversation by the guards when Wily is in prison:
Guard 1: Hey, but that's the newcomer!
Wily: Stop saying that, you all piss me off!!!
Guard 2: Chill out, man, at least, we can say you only *rule over* a prison cell!
Guards 1 and 2: [Laugher]
Wily: STOP IT, I DON'T LIKE YOUR JOKE!!!!
Guard 1: Oh come on, you're not funny...
the explosion after the "IMPOSSIBLE" battle rymes...
hear it again
I believe the turtle boss i mentioned is from megaman 7
My brother beat Wily without taking damage. I, on the other hand , had to use 3 energy tanks.
Fact: In MM4, you can kill Wily using Rain Flush(Toad Man's Weapon) while his little ship is still on screen. Good News: No more crime! Yay! Bad News: The game will freeze at that time, softlocking it.
18:04 this is not in the japanese versions. Instead, it would just be dots...
Wow.
I never had this Megaman 7, so I never got to see Megaman snap.
Ah, Mega Man 7... Truly a candidate for the most underrated game of all time. I love it.
19:04 Badasses don't look back at explosions.
I'm glad I didn't get to play MM7, that boss battle and ending would've made me despise Bass and wanted him nailed to the cross lol...
Nevertheless, it still looks like a cool game though, Kudos to you and everyone who endured and conquered that final hell of a battle.
Can you do one about the final boss of the game Megaman X3?
Kaiser Sigma is extremely as hard as Willy from the Megaman 7.
+GreenGoku912 AVGCP (aka mlg emerald warrior)
With Zeros Lightsaber and Gold Armor Kaiser Sigma is no Problem, but without... ^^
You mean the first form right? His second form is too predictable to be difficult, and the first form is a pain.
Edward Amador his first form is harder when he does not stop moving around, and the second is hard because his weak point is too small
+GGK912 AVGCP I never had a problem with his weak point, but I understand what you mean.
Wolf Sigma from X1 is WAY harder than Kaiser Sigma
Only beated 7 once, and i fucking love that entry but whenever i reach the end i cant stand fighting him and always end shutting the thing.
Btw, the "Die, Wily" part was only in western translation, in the original japanese never says that.
In the Japanese version, when Wily says Megaman can't kill him, Megaman transforms the mega buster back into his hand and says "....."
Not OCD, EBH.
Extreme Brutal Honesty.
Oh, you can press the D-Pad to get out of the flames? I've always just stood there and waited for it to wear off.
at this time I was playing mm7 on 3Ds and had no idea you could charge those weapons that would if made mm4 Willy's capsule battle much easier and the only reason how I beat Willy was because of you with the tips literally jumped in the air and said YES like I won the lottery
taysirtm *New 3DS
I laughed more than I should have at "Wily's UFO fail"
@Enzo000000000 You mean Roahm Mythril, right? :D
Man, this boss was SERIOUS! This time Wiley was going to fuck Megaman's ass! I honestly wish all the other boss battles were as challenging as this!
Apparently one of type staples in mega man games is the fact that no matter what castle it ismit always flashes before you start the next stage.
defeating MM7's Wily 2nd form was so satisfying and took only a million tries to do. I had 3 full E-tanks and used 1 in some boss before Wily
14:32 Is that blood coming out of Mega Man's mouth?
Robots do t have blood
Carter Pike Yea. It's most likely red oil. I don't know what it's real name is.
Nope, that's just beautiful video quality.
I think that's just his open mouth.
Technique I've picked up (requires crazy amounts of switching): Attack Wily with the Wild Coil whenever you can, but make it quick. Once you do that, quickly use Thunder Bolt on him and jump the electricity. Even if you miss the Wild Coil, try to hit hm with Thunder Bolt. If he's too high to reach (which happens to be only his highest point), then slide and jump the orbs. If you're quick enough, you can even squeeze in one punch from the Super Adaptor, switch, and then avoid the orbs.
That. That right there. That was many a gaming weekend of my childhood. Renting this game, and trying SO DAMN HARD to beat Wily. This was up there among the very first Mega Man games I ever completed, and holy HELL, was it enraging.
The sad part is, until MM7, I hadn't the faintest clue that non-Robot Masters had weaknesses too. (Meaning at least 4, MMX1, and X2, I played through the Wily/Cossack/Sigma stages without ever realizing the bosses had weaknesses, including Sigma/Wily themselves...)
Megamans face always stays blank so he's pissed off actually
Also the 8-bit demake of rockman 7 for the pc while overall more difficult was actually a lot more fair with the Wily battle, I wouldn't call it a cake walk but I was able to beat that without save states..
Speaking of "Wily Means Business", I think that's what song is called.
Well then it seems Capcom missed an amazing opportunity.
16:58 have you played either version MM&B
I ignore the minions completeley in Wily form 1. It's pretty formulaic for me when he pops them out: 1, charge, standing in the middle, 2, shoot Wily when he lands, charge next shot 3, jump away, over the far minion. That one takes time to turn around. 4. they're overlapping when they're approaching, so easily just jump over again and shoot Wily. maybe time for one more pea shot. 5, Slide under, which forces Wily to hurry up, 6, jump over minions as needed; they die when Wily lands again.
@Ocsttiac - Well, a certain Scottish dragon managed to beat Burner Man with just the Mega Buster. He managed to defeat ALL robot masters with just the Mega Buster.
Why does mega man think a mega buster blast can kill wily when he has survived multiple explosions over and over again UNHARMED,
I don't use robot master abilities against bosses unless I don't know any other way of harming them, seriously, in anniversary edition, I don't know how to fight the turtle boss without pink mega man, I just don't, I'm stingy when it comes to ammo, so I use abilities only if they are needed to complete a level, which angers me, like zelda games that don't allow unlimited arrows or bombs, I want full ammo and I want to declare im a bad ass, I treat my hp like my ammo, I want it full!
This is the first time a Classic-Series Final Boss was actually hard. Maybe the NES Ones were compensation for letting him off easy.
How are you supposed to know what Robot Master is weak to what weapon?
The Sweet Side Sometimes it's common sense (heat man vs wood man). Other times it's guesswork.
I was thinking the EXACT same thing! 🤔
Sweety internet these days
Testing, testing testing testing testing, TESTING!!! *AHHHHHHHHH!!!!! DO YOU READ ME??!!!*
Using logic and common sense. Sometimes the explanations for the weaknesses are streched so unbelievably far, but most of the time you can figure them out if you think about it enough.
19:05 cool guys walk away from explosions
Well Derpy, I hope it's not free on the site. That would be bad. Anyway, that would be a huge array of candidates. Picking one would almost be as hard as a stage 3 boss. Good idea.
I'm mistaken twice then; I guess it's one of those things were, even looking over one's shoulder, it seems easy enough, but once you got that control, it's an entirely different matter.
It’s been 11 victories and not in a *SINGLE ONE* has megaman shot wily.
He came close once, as demonstrated here.
Bass/Treble and Zero were both created by Wily. Bass actually stuck with Wily instead of betraying him lol
The zero part is not official.
I'm sure the games in the Megaman/X franchise and the cutscenes featured in them have eliminated reasonable doubt from the equation.
*****
By the way, Bass and Treble's names are from music.
I am quite aware of this information
But Zero was sealed after his creation. The only memory he has of Wily is his silhouette.
@Dinker27 Trust me, the second form is much, much harder.
I think the third phase of Mega Man 6 with the Dr. Willy final boss fight is the *Hardest* , I mean you have to dodge *Four* energy balls that all go into four different ways. (unless you are in the middle)
Cossack's stages, my nightmare.
Woah... megaman sure is pissed after that fight...
@whoisthisgit You should do one about Chrono Trigger. Is about the final boss in the Black Omen, near the end of the game.
To this day, I swear that it's IMPOSSIBLE to pull off a "No Damage Run" in Mega Man 7. It's all because of the Wily Capsule. I don't see how you can pull off a No Damage Run without using Save States. I don't see how it's possible otherwise.
Wily Capsule from 7 is really not as hard as most people seem to believe. It's actually pretty doable.
what can you play this mega man game on?
Craven Cole The NES. (Emulation)
Ry 00001 thanks
@HarrisonFordJr Actually, it does the opposite: If you shoot Wily with Thunder Bolt quickly enough, he won't shoot the four orbs, but instead will shoot the electricity down the bottom.
None of the Megaman Zero games feature 12 bosses you have to refight.
They're always 8.
Megaman 7 was the first megaman game i've played.
I knew nothing about the series, and it sure got me by surprise when i got to the final stage, had to fight every boss again and then wily, and when he turned into that second form.....
9:56 People are still reading newspapers in 20XX?
What was the first Mega Man that allowed charging the Buster?
Megaman 4
when I was a little puppy, Ididdnt know about megaman's othe weapons, so I played with the ordinary and annoyig normal weapon D:
if you shoot his final form with the electricity, he wont shoot the electricity out the bottom.
Pharaoh Man.
Why someone would want to defeat him is beyond me.
It looks like the fight JUST to get to Wily is much more difficult. :/ And is it me, or does it look like Wily has that look like he just dropped soap behind bars?
11:30 They sound like Cymbals.
@MrRenard7785 "Bay-ss", since that's the official way to say it. Most of the Mega Man names are after musical terms: Rock Man, Roll, Bass, Treble, Forte (Bass' name in Japan), Gospel (Treble's name in Japan), Tango, Enker, Quint, Punk and Ballade. I think I've made my point.
This isn't counting Mega Man 8, since they absolutely arsed up the voice acting (come on, you'e gonna trust someone who pronounces Sword as "Sw-ord" as opposed to the usual pronounciation: "So-rd"?).
Megaman's reaction to Wily in 7 is probably why he nerfed himself.
In the 8bit fan remake, it is ridiculously simpler, due to stage proportions.
