For some reason I have always noticed that Lenovo's take sometimes longer to re-establish the Bios and boot up. Will make you wonder if is still broke !!!! Good work as usual.
This is the laptop my work provided before they upgraded us to the T490. These are pretty solid laptops that you can find for dirt cheap (since lots of corporations use them and upgrade fairly often). Edit: I may be thinking of T480 which is multi core. Should still be pretty cheap.
@@repairwinsI must be thinking of the T480 then, because I'm pretty sure my last work laptop was not dual-core. I still think the T480 would also be pretty inexpensive.
@electronicsrepairschool i have a T430 and as soon i pluged it on it came on a few times then one time i plugged in the charger and it never came back on, before that happened i power cycled it about 3 times rapidly to get into the bios
Great job! This one is really funny. I had this exact laptop with this exact fault on this exact power rail. Im not sure but might have even been the same capacitor. Sadly i don't have a photo ... I think that this is an intermediate power rail that sits between The slim tip plug and the USB-C port.
Sorin, Can you do a video that includes all of the normal service task you do to a repaired laptop. Like tighten hinge screws, cleaning, clean/replace thermal compound, charge battery.
Sorin, where do you get the adapters to hook up universal laptop connectors to your bench power supply? i checked your amazon and all i see is a usb-c to universal. if anyone else knows please let me know. thanks.
Hi Sir, I have Acer Nitro 5, I had cracked screen, gave it to local shop to replace screen, he did not remove the battery and cmos. Now the laptop wont turn on, he tried something and one black chip fall out. Can you please help ?
@@lukedavis436 no i used thinkpad since t420, t480 was my last one. They are just not good, crap screen, crap cpu, expensive. I just buy gaming laptops better value for money.
A friend of mine was in a motorcycle accident and fell over his T450 laptop that was in his backpack. The laptop was almost split in half, totally warped, but still worked with picture and everything else!! Amazing piece of hardware.
Capacitors are just there to reduce radio frequency noise from the power supply, not needed for proper operation. He did a video about this weeks ago, removing a lot of caps, with no ill effects.
Hey guys I watched 100's of these but i have a Dell latitude e6430 i5 that the power light comes on with charger installed. the power button light comes on when pressed but fan does not spin, cpu does not get warm but speakers crackle continuously. tried unplugging everything, different ram, different psu but do not find similar issues when searching. All refer to crackling speaker while in windows. suggestions? Thanks an hope everyone has good xmas and new year. oh i even used it as a excuse to buy thermal camera, but i see nothing :( Update, I skipped a step, because battery was charging and power light was coiming on I assumed (doh) it was not a shorted motherboard. After using my multimeter everything is shorted to ground. Excuse to buy a bench power supply. :)
Hello, I need some help. I have a 2021 ASUS Rog Strix G513IM, laptop turns on and works just fine. 1st issue is BOTH the Fans don’t spin and laptop ends up overheating (Error: 0 rpm) fans themselves are good so maybe is the motherboard 2nd the battery won’t charge, someone ripped the connector and I don’t know what the 3 middle wires are for (brown, yellow, white) black and red wires are connected though and it will run on battery power but it won’t detect the battery or charge
My favourite part of the video, " And we have picture" Thank you Sorin you are a legend
better than a netflix series 🙂
Yeah! Demonstrated the importance of a good thermal camera. Efficient work. Thanks for sharing. All the best.

Just bought this for my friend cheap 50$,it has i5 and 256GB ssd,4GB ddr3,IPS led screen.
Good and fast for web browsing.
Had twice this year with same fault as you and same caps.
GJ! 👍
Because IMO being a repair tech for Lenovo, Thinkpads are absolute garbage and not sure why corporates use them.
Because of tough case i guess? Never had a T series with a broken hinges.
“We have picture” is the best saying on the internet 😂

Same problem, same capacitor 😅 4 months after! Wonderful: Multi Moultsoumes my friend!!

Great job, bravo...
For these and X270 main issue that es see is damaged keyboards, but this certainly is good to see
Good job mate 👍

Nice Monday morning job, no capacitor, no problem!
@suli687 yes, could go alot further but it works

NICE! so, wait, you just removed a capacitor that was over heating, and didn't replace it with a new one?
Yeah, that's right. 😎
laptop still ok if u removed 20 capacitor and didn't replace

Offcourse he replaced with a new one. With a special one ;-)
Nope, he never does!

RAM, just RAM. Not Random Access Memory Memory :)
who knows with what capacitor capacity we can replace the broken one???
@christozed: PC14 & PC15, 10 uF - 25V size 0603, both in the TBTA_VBUS section of the service manual (free online, page 71). All the best.
