Dr. Baden is the author of numerous books and articles, including The Historical David: The Real Life of an Invented Hero (HarperOne, 2013). His most recent book is the co-authored Reconceiving Infertility: Biblical Perspectives on Procreation and Childlessness (Princeton, 2015). He writes frequently for CNN, The Daily Beast, Slate, Politico, and the LA Times.

Many people turn to the Bible to gain a deeper understanding of what it is that God wants from us, and how we might live according to God's ways. In these four sessions, we will look at four distinct perspectives on this issue presented by the Old Testament. We will see that the questions we have today were just as pressing thousands of years ago. And we will think about how those ancient perspectives continue to be useful to us-and influence us-down to the present.
Dr Baden's online class on Genesis was amazing. Highly recommend for anyone who isn't offended by the fact that humans wrote these books.
He shared what he knows; his understanding of the scriptures. I am impressed how he tried to focus with all the noise and chatter in the background. Sad that they showed no respect to their guest speaker.

Perhaps the first question Dr Joel Baden should ask himself is : Does or can God exist independent of his opinion/belief of whether God exists or not? Is it possible to know the answer to THAT question?
RFS Dear Dr. Baden Joshua And All The Kings Of Israel, Had committed all The Laws To memory at The very Young age. They knew all the names of the decedents and so an so. actually all Israel had The torah committed to memory.

Think about it Dr Baden, Modern man most likely can't do that memorization, The ancients could. Think. The verses The Laws were written in their Hearts and minds; Not on Tablet. Also to say when The Law was, quote "He read to the Laws of Gods commandments and The people Wept. The ancients possessed ( photographic memory) Too' Read' meant the words appeared before The minds eye. I Stand Corrected
