Spire has an advantage over Omnisphere - it loads the sounds much quicker (Omnisphere requires an i9 to load quick - i have to wait 3 seconds to load a sound with my i7 PC, 16 GB RAM) - also Spire has a friendlier price.

Omnisphere is a collection of synth in one hybrid module, Spire is a substractive synth, are diferents, you can have real sounds and modulations in Omnisphere imposible to replicate in Spire, but Spire is a very good synths as Dune, Ana, Massive, Hive... wich you can do a better comparision.😗❓

Omnisphere and Spire are very different beasts. Omnisphere is very sample based and has a vast library of complex samples. But it also has traditional syntehsis and even a type of wave table synthesis, plus a granular engine a huge racks of effectsm, aux effects, master effects, arpegiator, keybaord mapping, various live modes and much much more. Having said that, I have not found any soft synth that comes close to Spire's ability to produce pure warmth and richness, and I've spent time with most of them. To my ears Spire takes what I like about the sound of real analog hardware and moves it even further in that directon. I actually prefer it to real hardware when I want that really rich velvety analog warm sound. Nothing else like it out there to my ears. Having said that Omnisphere sounds wonderful and I use it on everything. But then so does Serum in a totally different way. All the great synths have something unique to bring to the party and Spire is definately one of them for me.
U-he's Diva is unbeatable for getting warm analog sounds out of a VST. Plain and simple.
in the end it's all about the quality of composition-arrangement. which vst you use is not that critical @@WildAnalog
I like them both. They are very complementary imo.
Spire sound more like a modern DCO rather than VCO. A the moment for vintage VCO and DCO Softube Model 80, 82, 84 are the most accurate.
Omnisphere deliver a pretty damn good analog feeling, fat, grit, raw. Rapid is another good pupil for analog feel.
Love Spire for leads & Plucks, it has a very digital clean sound too it, works well layered with Diva or Omnisphere, I prefer Omnisphere though for real Analog sounding 80s sounds. Some cool presets here thanks :-)

I bought this synth yesterday. It sounds awesome and it will get along so well with my other 2 faves, Tone2 Icarus 2 and DS Thorn
Heard a lot of those A G Cook sounds. Very nice.
Since I downloaded the Spire Plugin on FL Studio 20 then I can't stop enjoying every single piece of it. Especially those arps and bass sequences, they are giving so much action.

This is very useful, thanks. Wish you'd done another one ;-) Great to sit hear and take notes over which soundbanks to go check out. There are so many of them and I wouldn't have a clue where to start. I'm a sucker for good atmospheric pads that last for a long time - they're hard to find. Maybe do a "Spire, best 100 atmospheric pads".. OK.. I'm pushing it a bit :-)

Better than Omnisphere? No. It's different than Omnisphere and is a great complement to it.
90% of the time Spire make no sounds and I lose all the melody that I’ve made with, I hate this Vst for this.

I disagree with you on your selection of patches, opinion though it is. I find the first half of them to be fairly thin and overly simplistic, obviously of use only in modern dance clubs. The latter half is much better, but I don't think it's better than anything from the factory sounds numbering nearly a thousand. In fact the patch you offer at 9:10 is nothing more than a pared-down and 50%-slowed sequence from the 2nd factory preset bank arp "SQ Cretu V." That gave me a pretty good chuckle.
To anyone looking for something to buy as an "alternative" to Omnisphere, I always give two main options: Zebra and Rapid. Zebra is a powerhouse capable of producing sounds some of which Omisphere is only capable through samples. Rapid is actually a stronger contender with greater potential, capable of synthesis, sample manipulation and (soon) granular, plus it's dead easy to learn.
I owned Spire before either of them, and it is truly a work of art. The sound is gorgeous. I'd never give it up. I stumbled upon Zebra over a year later and was blown away by its vintage and realism capabilities, as well as its power and CPU-friendliness. Rapid I found only about 5 months ago, but I must say that if I'd seen it before Spire, I would have chosen Rapid. It's far more powerful (though it doesn't quite match Spire's beauty at times) and just as easy to use. The most unfortunate thing is that Rapid's presets are mostly like ham & beans compared to Spire's rich buffet.
The best part of all of them is that (unlike Omnisphere) they ALL have working demo versions available! Check them out, and compare them to anything you may otherwise be thinking of. You'll be glad you did.

Agreed with you, Rapid is a great synth very easy to use, and post-sale is the best in the virtual synths market. They always ear the customers.

I love spire but it has one big issue in certain sounds: it creates anti-phase. And I heard 2 EDM tracks already where it is noticable. The result is when people play that track on e.g. a Mono speaker, the spire sound is nearly inaudible; Mono, who still listend to mono, I hear you think. Well every JBL Partybox is mono. As are most others.... Tbh, by far most sounds on Spire are just perfect with no issue. But you need to watch the phase meter with some... It's not the synth imo. It's probably the sound designer.

Better than Omnisphere, no. The fact you compare it to Omnisphere is bit misleading, but staying on point here, there is a reason Omnisphere is the go to and what everyone compares to as the champ so to speak. I took these 50 sounds (this video) and sent them to the guys in my keyboard and composition group. I received 34 responses and only 2 of them thought this sounded better. In fact, there seemed to be more people clamoring about a better comparison is Omnisphere vs (insert other VST here) as everyone seemed to have something different. In the end, the one agreeable conclusion I found was the overwhelming support for Omnisphere.

Hello, I wonder?, could you just go to the point in the video (8.40) take a screen shot of the synth and then create where the sliders and knobs are in position to make your own preset? or does it need a sample or does it create it with synthesis?.

you put all this effort in editing every preset switch for unknown reasons. work smart not hard
all presets are original- maybe one or two of them had too much delay or reverb and i use to reduce it. I don't have time to edit the presets. It is your impression, I see, but is not correct

Maybe Diva or Repro. With vst we can have many sounds for cheap. Its an advantage. Or buy 3 older synthesizers that doesn't cost much...watch the Diva videos or i have one with songs demo for spire. I like that i can save favorite presets, in 1 minute i find what i need plus the keyboards take some space in the studio...

Avenger is the best. Although I do like the sound of Spire, especially for Trance. But for the more modern EDM beefier sounds Spire sounds a little outdated.
No, Avenger is not the best. I've tried many, many VSTs, and Avenger is very much in the standard 'advanced VST camp': Very versatile, incredible amount of options, but (aside from quality samples) incapable of producing any sound other than metallic, thin and digital, with effects that are not nearly up to par.
If you want a VST capable of rich, vibrant sound (as well as thin and metallic), Spire can't be beaten, and the 960 presets it ships with are, in large part, better than the ones presented here in my opinion; I don't know how he possibly picked these over the factory selections. Spire's effects also blow Avenger's out of the water. Spire is often on sale for $129 or less.
If you're looking for the versatility of Avenger (and you don't need a VST with an extraneous drum machine) but you don't want to sacrifice sound quality, go with Rapid. Rapid is a 24-oscillator, 8-layer monster which is easy to use and features high-quality effects . The presets it ships with are so-so, but the possibilities are endless. All future updates are free, and the next is scheduled to include granular synthesis.
This is of course just my opinion (as is yours), but for anyone who may want to do something aside from modern dubstep and the like, Avenger is not even an option, completely incapable of producing any sound remotely vintage or analog. I don't know your definition of "beefy," but I didn't get a taste of it from Avenger.
@@akiramenai4973 I actually think Spire sounds a bit thin. Check out Avengers Analog expansions. They just added a new analog self resonating filter a few months ago.
@@Table-Top I am wondering if you tried Spire yourself or are just judging on how it is used in example videos. Spire definitely does not sound thin if it wants to sound full and vibrant. Either way I'm not here to argue. Based on my experience with Avenger and with Rapid, Rapid is the better choice for anyone who wants to be able to get a better "analog" sound, and as I said, Rapid's effects (reverb in particular) are superior.
All of this aside, in the last few weeks I have been persuaded that ZebraHZ is actually better than Spire. Zebra also has no sample playback capability, but what it CAN do it does better than basically anything else on the planet. If I had to choose one synth to use for the rest of my life, it would definitely be Zebra, preferably HZ with its expanded capabilities.
I WILL see if I can find some demos of the new Avenger sounds though. I hope they have improved.
