Hi Jolene! We have SO many books that overlap. You are not the only one who hasn’t read Life After Life - I have it in my TBR spin pile for this year so I’ll finally get to it. I’m looking forward to following your 2025 journey - you’re giving me hope that we can get to all those books that have been waiting in the wings! 😊💜
I read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn in 2024 and really enjoyed it. About five or six of the others you mentioned are on my TBR. I will be reading Demon Copperhead and The Goldfinch in March. Currently reading The Covenant of Water by Abraham V. You put together an interesting and eclectic list.
I too have heard high praises for Lemon Trees and Weight of Ink. Those two historical sound so good and are on my extensive list to read one day! Happy reading in 2025! 📚
I read The Golden Mean and enjoyed it but I can't remember much of it now. Read Brick Lane--good read. Read A Tree Grows in Brookland--I actually mentioned it at my mother's funeral as a book that my mother said reminded her of her upbringing.
Interesting list - I loved and highly recommend Demon Copperhead, The Goldfinch and The River We Remember. I hope you work them into your reading this year. I need to move The Secret History and Hamnet up on my priority list again - they have been on my shelf for ages. I’m currently listening to Dandelion by Jamie Chai Yun Liew (for Canada Reads) and really enjoying it, and I’m getting ready to start my book club read, The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon.
I have been reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn every few years since I was 11 years old (I’m in my seventies now)😉 As you may have guessed I LOVE this book. I recently read it with two of my grandkids and they loved it too. Just a caution: if there is an introduction by Anna Quinlan in your copy, read it as an afterword instead. She has wonderful things to say about the book, but she also includes some spoilers in that introduction. Please do a review after you have read it. I would love to hear what you have to say about it.
OHhhhhhhhhhhhhh some really great books !!!!! I'm sure I read "Life After Life" a long time ago, and it was confusing but that may have been a me at the time problem, not the book. If you're looking for any buddy reads this year, I'd happily sign up for Life After Life, Lincoln & The Bardo or The Secret History... Hope you and the puppies are well
Yes. Let’s do a buddy read. How about Life After Life or The Secret History. I’m just about to start Lincoln. I’ll be in touch to arrange something with you. 😊💙
@@BookwormAdventureGirl I have a copy of The Secret History on my book shelf, I'm sure I could get a copy of Life after Life in no time.... let me know when and what works best for you !!!! :)
You've got some great books there! I loved The Weight of Ink, Demon Copperhead, Hamnet, As Long as the Lemon Tree Grows, and read years ago, The Secret History. I've read Frog Legs, but Emma Donoghue and I don't really get along. I also have Cutting for Stone on my TBR (loved Covenant of Water) and seriously thought I was the last person to read Life after Life as it's been on my shelves for years. Interesting group of books you've collected. Quite diverse!
You have some amazing books on this list! If you get through all of these I think you’ll have a great reading year. There are a few I’ve been wanting to read too, like Life After Life and The Mermaid of Black Conch.
There are 8? on your list I’ve read and would highly recommend Frog Music Hamnet The Secret History Demon Copperhead Love After Love The Storied Life of AJ Fickry ( must look for the film) The Overstory ( audio recommendation) The Mermaid of Black Conch Lincoln in the Bardo ( audio for multi voice cast)

Isn’t it wonderful to be so fond of a book? Thanks for the heads up about the intro. Intros with spoilers should be banned. 😊💙
@@BookwormAdventureGirl Hope you enjoy A Tree Grows in Brooklyn as much as I do! Happy reading! 💛
