Being able to talk openly and honestly about your own and someone else’s fears and anxieties, especially as they relate to our sense of self worth, is hard. That kind of discussion is not typical in our culture, especially internet culture, but it’s vital to being a fully formed person. This stream impressed me more than any song or other piece of “content” they could put out there.

I very much prefer when a vtuber uses their own natural voice. I actually can’t think of a voice reveal where I preferred the fake voice. It’s hard to describe but the fake voice just feels too disingenuous to me. I can more easily accept the avatar. We modify our appearances IRL all the time, but we generally don’t create a new voice persona to impress others. I feel like at some point you’re trying too hard to be someone you’re not. Then I have a hard time feeling connected to that person because they aren’t even connected to themselves.
