- macmost.com/e-2942 When viewing files in the Finder you can group the items in a folder by kind, size, date and more. How this works depends on which Finder view you choose. You can also sort the files inside each group.

Well, that sorted a few headaches for me. Thanks, Gary.
I am using Apple computers since many years. And almost everytime I see your short tutorials I learn something useful that is new for me! Thank you Gary!
A very useful and informative video tutorial today! Thank you, Gary! 👏🏻❤️
Excellent video Gary - thanks so much.
I've been using groups, but had not tried/found all options, thank you!
VERY useful Gary! Thanks again, as always!!
I know I've said this before. You are the best Mac teacher here on UA-cam. As a beginner on Mac, your lessons are very easy to understand and easy to fallow. There's no BS, no big words, the pace is perfect.
Thanks very much, Gary, for this very informative video! Learned something new today.
Nice. I'm using Group By now 👍
I've been using groups for a long time and thought I knew how to use it.... but NO!! you've shown me MORE ways to use it... thanks
Very clear, concise and useful as always. Thanks.
I had to stop the video a few times just to go use the different sorts and groups. Very kewl! Thank you.
I found this very helpful. Thank you so much. At 75, I am sometimes a little slow to learn new things. I find you very easy to understand.
Excellent, as always!
As always, very clear, concise, and yes, useful!
Thank you. Not confused about this any more.
most useful. I have like many avoided this because it was confusing. keep up the good work.
Thank you for sharing another insightful tutorial. I was not aware of the Use Group functionality. It would be great though if a search functionality could be implemented in Finder that is as user-friendly and efficient as that of Google search.
Thank you once again. Your videos always have something new I can make use of! Excellent.
Very useful tutorial. Many thanks!
Wow, another awesome thing I did not know, thanks Gary!💕🎉🥳🎈
Thanks bunches
Nice useful info
Thanks Gary!
I wish the Finder column view used auto-sizing, so there would be no truncated file/folder names, and also conversely, no wasted space. I also miss being able to open up folders with the side arrow in list view, when having grouping enabled. Strange omission by Apple by not allowing these two functions.
hate to think how much of my life’s been wasted sizing & resizing columns!
On my Mac there is a bug when I group by Tags in column view. Sometimes the columns disappear (except for the first column). For example when switching on "group by Tags". It has been there for years.
Informative. I have files on my desktop and I usually use the show desktop feature to show desktop to get to the files. The problem is when I am connected to an external monitor. Watching a movie on the external monitor while working on my laptop's built-in screen. Every time when I access the show desktop, all connected monitors show the desktop. How can I show only the desktop on the built-in screen without interrupting the external screen where I am watching a movie on it. If it's not possible on the macOS, is there an external app or plug-in to do this?
Why not just open a Finder window and go to the Desktop folder there?
How can I make "Group By" my default settings in Finder so it opens any path in Finder grouped? As I noticed that I have to turn it on for each folder separately
See ua-cam.com/video/nKXCjD4HdpY/v-deo.html
How can i use group as default for all folders for all drives?

Having both "Arrange By" and "Sort By" just adds unnecessary faff to listing the files in the order that you want, especially when "Sort By" is buried in CMD J.
Still, there's always the Unix command prompt, so you can be sure of what it's doing.
Gary - Finder/View...we are both using Ventura but where you click on [Sort by] I am offered [Group by]. I wonder why???
Watch the video. You need to choose Use Groups and then it will change to Group By.
This feature is terrible; too many ways to arrange/sort, you don't know which one is taking priority.
