Iqbal has been hijacked by Pakistan otherwise, he was a patriotic Indian and a very good Muslim Politician. You can call him a great poet but not a religious authority. It is how Muslims of this time have hijacked Allah as their God only, who is not only God of Muslims but God of non-Muslims too. Allama Iqbal has been an Ahmadi Muslim until the last decade of his life and he decided to leave due to his involvement in politics. Now Allama sb has been over-magnified and Mullahs have made him a mini-Prophet of Pakistan or a man with the prophet-like qualities. He was a good Muslim only and he was definitely against Mullahism and crook political leaders-cum-Maulvis.

Justice Sahab Hazrat Omer did not do Ijtihad, his verdict was according to the Quran. Quran did not say 'who steals cut his hand', Quran says 'cut the hand of As-sariq. As-Sariq means the person who has made stealing his profession. Who is recognized by the name 'Thief'. Who is famous for stealing. These type of criminals need their hand cut off because light punishment could not stop them from stealing. Islam's aim is 'minor crime minor punishment, severe crime severe punishment'.
