This is such a cool knife. Normally I don’t like flippers because the tab forces you to hold the knife further back. The aesthetics of this knife are amazing too.
Bought the red dark matter 229 kickstop from steel addiction. Very happy with it, and my largest folder I own. I bet the lock bar is definitely wire edm cut.
I know this is an old video but I had to comment because I FINALLY ordered the Chaves 229 Redencion Kickstop after waiting a whole year trying to get a deal. I caved on GP blades because they have the Kickstop all titanium for only $330 right now. It's essentially $80 off since everywhere else is still asking the $410 or out of stock. I'm a MASSIVE TECH Knife enthusiast, so I only buy very forward thinking knives with inventive or ingenuitive design elements. By that logic I recently bought a VERO Lux, Chaves 229, and of course the new Magnacut V2 Demko MG AD20. I think all 3 represent the most creative, and epic flip/opening design on the market currently.
Dood! I received my Urban EDC exclusive 229 Tanto Kickstop on Friday. It’s got a seigaiha pattern engraved into both scales, and a heavy stonewashed finish on everything except the hardware. The Chaves and Williams, (Kickstop), designs together are absolutely AMAZING! Reate did a PHENOMENAL job building it, too. Imo, the fit and finish are better than a lot of US made knives which cost ~$550+, (and it cost me $395 delivered). I’ve only had this 229 Kickstop for ~3 days, and I think it’s already my new favorite knife. 🥰
I’m so jealous man!! That’s the best version by far. The stonewash over everything is the icing on the cake. Congrats man!! It’s really an amazing knife 🤠
My dude🤙🏻 I got mine a couple days ago and I love it. Just be mindful that pivot will work itself loose if it didn’t come with loctite in the pivot like mine did. Such a good feeling knife
Okay cool! I couldn’t think of anything else that could make a cut that thin. Super rad. Has Reate always used wire edm? If I wonder if they recently got some new machines

Yep same here! But that problem is solved with the Kickstop. Super freakin cool 🤠

Oooo that’s badass! Yeah it’s a big chunky knife, but so smooth

Awesome man! You will love it. Such an amazing mechanism
Interesting for me to find this comment. Just purchased a 229 Kickstop and Vero LUX myself. Love both knives.
Awesome knife! Love how the flipper tab disappears and the pocket clip is just cool!💀
Yeah it’s freakin cool!!
I have one, actually am carrying it today, and I agree. I am always amazed by the lack of gap on the lockbar.
Man bro that’s one heck of a knife. Man that’s a tough mug
Nice great looking knife! Great design!!
Such a beast of a knife!

This knife is in my top 5 want list.. maybe top 3.
It’s a must have
Went way back in time just to see what you think! I didn’t get the Kickstop. Went thumb stud version 229 of this knife!!!
You’ll love it
The cut is probably wire EDM. Use it all the time for certain products my work manufactures.
Love my blue micarta one soooooo good!

I noticed that too! I was like what the fuck, the flipper tab is wiggly! But yeah the pivot just loosened. I gotta locktite that in
@@doodysdaggers it’s only happened to me on higher dollar knives
Love it❤
Very cool
Did you ever end up using this or is it still a safe queen? I got one in a trade and it's already used so I plan on using mine.
I had to sell it, but I used it while I had it
Lock bar was definitely cut with wire edm. Koenig Arius is the only knife I've seen with a tighter tolerance cut lock bar.

I own one.....
Nice!
