Kerry you are like a bottle of Grange for the price of Yellow Tail. This is a sterling addition to your written articles. Your video work has improved greatly too. Perfect music, graphics to accompany the video & just the right amount of information to ensure a hassle-free journey. Looking forward to more of your fine work.
I have my seniors and opal gold card and have used it to travel from Newcastle to Sydney and Manly or Balmain return for just $2.50. Yes it also covers the trams and ferries. But I have yet to travel further afield. I think that I may have to plan a trip up to Brisbane soon. An wonderful deal for seniors to be able to travel interstate for just $5.50!
Hi Kerry, I have complained about the lack of shelter at Newcastle Interchange. It is ridiculous! Mother's with babies, elderly and general public freeze. It is generally windy. Hot in Summer. Thank you for your videos. I think 2025 we will do what you are doing and take more trips on the train system. We don't have a train station so have to start from Maitland. Then either Central or Newcastle to set off.
The comment about not building trains in NSW is correct in that no NSW Company bid the large contracts because they did have the resources to build them.
Hello Kerry, I remember you telling me about your tight arse travel adventures. Thanks allot for a great video. I noticed your Morris. Is it still working? Feel free to drop in to my place at Helensburgh. No extra cost by public transport. Cheers, Terry
@@Terry-y2r You've got me thinking now Terry. Next video: "Nambucca Heads to Helensburgh for $5." I'll certainly drop by for a cuppa and look forward to checking your model train layout again. Drop by my place if you're up this way. The Morris Minor is still battling on, although he doesn't get much use since I've taken up this new UA-camr hobby and travel everywhere by PT.😁. Cheers, Kerry.
Love taking the V Sets to Newcastle & the Blue Mountains. Could have taken the train to Dungog from Hamilton. But then no Morning Market cafe where I always go too.
@@brucethomas5123 I think it's because the CL concession card is open to all ages while the Seniors card limits the discount only to people over 60. But it'd be a good idea to extend the CPE fare to include CL. Cheers Kerry.
Great minds think alike. Only problem is the poor connection between trains at Dungog and any savings lost on accomodation in towns that you otherwise would not stay in. Unfortunately accomodation and food can be very expensive in rural towns. Maitland is nice and definitely worth a stopover. Take a computer or laptop or just a very good book with you to while away the hours. Don't you love how the "designers" of these transport interchanges put so many walls, obstructions and distance between the transport that has to be interchanged. Genius!
Thanks for the wonderful journey 😊 enjoyed it all😊

Wow, thank you! Much appreciated. Your glowing comment certainly gives me the inspiration to kick on with some more videos. Cheers Kerry.
You’ve prompted me to apply for a senior’s card! Ambling around on a train for $2.50 sounds like a fantastic way to spend a day or two to me 😊
Go for it!
Kiama...Blue Mountains....great rides....

@@NorthHoustonCityLimits Thanks for the complement. Glad to hear you enjoyed the video, it was my first attempt at becoming a UA-camr. Cheers.

How long did this journey take and how long is the direct route? thanks
Why the seniors card and not the Centrelink concession card?
