腐植質本身是碳基，需要碳來組合，是由植物行光合作用，吸收CO2轉變成糖，變成它的身體，才有葉子枝幹根莖，而化學合成農藥，主要成份為氮、磷、鉀，並不需要碳來組合，所以改為有機的養護土壤及種植方式，主要就是在恢復補充土壤裡的腐植質，所以就是在固碳、捕捉大氣裡的CO2。
