you can also make a basic type card but changing de configuration, so it makes 2 cards out of 1 (front-back and back-front). Very useful to learn vocabulary
This is definitely a fair point. The reason I opt for this cloze method, over making basic cards that test info in both directions, is simply the time it requires
What is the capital of Georgia? vs The capital of Georgia is [...]. How does the cloze version provide any more clues? Both have the exact same (lack of) information.
@@Dempeokami Good point. In that case, there really aren't any more clues. I don't have any great examples right now, but I have to agree with OP. Sometimes I can just look at the layout of the card and guess the cloze before even reading the card. Maybe that is true for basic cards as well, but I haven't found it to be.
I think it's just a matter of style. When we are talking about learning styles different things works differently for different people. It is nice to know another approach (which can be useful in some sense) but never use basic anki cards is overtly dramatic statement I should say :) (I know they are clickbait titles)
I can't seem to get cloze feature to work, also how did you immediately change Atlanta to the {{c1 card Atlanta at 0:41? is there a special shortcut? whenever i attempt to use a cloze card and type up the {{c1;;}} it doesn't work and it says there is no cloze card.
Hi! Thanks for watching. I actually just clicked the cloze button (the ellipses in the top right of the screen). You can, however, pressure ctrl alt shift c, which will do the same thing. If you are having anymore of an issue, let me know (dm or on here) and I can help you out!
Do you how if I can reduce the number of cloze cards so that I study only one card of the main note so that I don't have to go through other cloze of the same note. It would help me minimize time in reviewing the deck quick after studying all cards. I mean I wanna just see the main notes as a whole quick without repeated cloze cards.
Idk if you're referring to this but there are a few options in the "deck options" that are called "hide sibling cards" or something like that. You can activate one of those options to avoid seeing sibling cards on the same day. Basically when you create a "card" using the default templates, you're actually creating 2 notes that are called siblings because they're related to the same card. So the default Anki shows those notes one after the other, which is kinda annoying cause you will be seeing that same "card" (twice) with a tiny variation and it defeats the spaced learning process. Sorry English isn't my native language.
"Cloze" cards are no longer showing the "extra" or display images when added. In order to solve this please in an empty cloze card, add a new field and name it "extra" close the card and go to the main anki window and go to "tools" follow these steps: select "manage note types 11 select "cloze select "choose cards at the bottom center choose "add field" change field from "text to extra" change "add to". from "front to back" Press ok and try and see if works

How can I make cards with a deletion that contains multiple lines and they keep the same style? For example: first 3 letters of the alphabet: {{c1: a b c}} "a" shows in blue, but the rest do not
super informative! definitely helpful in reinforcing actual understanding of the concept rather than card memorization. thanks for sharing!
i agree with you
it’s better than the basic cards and more challenging

This is also a solid method!
How?
Can you point me a video or tell me what to look for on UA-cam so I can make my cards like this?
@@howardcrosales99 threr is a type of cards called - basic (and the reversed)
@@LegendRuffy anki has it on their youtube page
Thank you so much, my friend! Your help was truly invaluable.
you are amazing man, thanks for short video and clean information.
Still like basic cards. Makes my brain work harder.
I like cloze deletions but I feel they provide too many clues.

its based on how you create your cards, cloze >> basic
just bury the similar cards when using cloze cards so you don't see similar cards in the same way and cloze > basic in my opinion

Or you can do: The capital of {{c1::Georgia}} is {{c2::Atlanta}}.
I kind of feel like the QnA is better for memorization. Maybe it's because I'm used to basic cards
I can't figure out how you have 'current streak' and 'longest streak' on your main page. I don't have this on my anki. What addon is it?
figured it out! it's the heatmap addon !
Thanks for showing that handy tip.

Thank you for the help my guy
is it possible to show an error message when we type the wrong answer?
I am not very skilled at using this application, but I believe that any errors made will be highlighted in red.
Thank you so much for this! SO helpful!
Awesome! Thank you!
A minor issue is that it becomes grammatically wrong ("What is the capital of Atlanta"). Any way to circumvent that?
Thank you very much.
Thanks for the video - much appreciated!
I get error with this after a few card do you know why
What is the error?

If I understand what you are asking, you can suspend the card (not the note) of the cloze deletions you don't want to see anymore

Great video! Question: just downloaded anki and found that my cloze cards have no "extra" field. How did you get yours to appear?
Hi Meghan! I'm actually not sure--maybe you can try to re-download Anki. It should be there!
"Cloze" cards are no longer showing
the "extra" or display images when added. In order to solve this please in an empty cloze card, add a new field and name it "extra" close the card and go to the main anki window and go to "tools"
follow these steps:
select "manage note types 11
select "cloze
select "choose cards
at the bottom center choose "add field"
change field from "text to extra"
change "add to". from "front to back"
Press ok and try and see if works

How can I make cards with a deletion that contains multiple lines and they keep the same style? For example: first 3 letters of the alphabet:
{{c1: a
b
c}}
"a" shows in blue, but the rest do not
You can make three separate cloze deletions as follows:
{{c1:A}}
{{c1:B}}
{{c1:C}}
Let me know how that works for you!
i agree with you
