They should have kept some of the deleted Jim and Toby scenes. They used to be good friends and Jim used to babysit Toby's daughter, but Michael moved Toby to the annex because he got jealous. Then they both had that crush on Pam, which made Toby jealous of Jim.

Throughout the series...Toby has been shown as a lax...low energy middle aged mumbling divorced drone with no spark or even energy...that gets pushed around and misbehaved with by his boss and colleagues...remember Jim when Michael tells him he's sleeping with Pam's mom? Even Jim yells at him...so it is a character there...the pushover doormat that cracks or needs to feel power somewhere in his life... then he easily climbs a 10-12 foot fence in one smooth go? come on...it was night...if he had struggled, tried twice or thrice and then scrambled to eventually climb over then that wouldve looked normal and in character and also the jump....he was confident and knew his way around it...landed confidently...no looking and planning...his hand eye coordination...or limbs even....he suddenly looked like he had done this before...regular people in their 40s...the kind shown on this show...especially toby dont do that...and it was night it was like he was a different animal ...and he just jogged after that lol...that was so freaky...can you imagine a man in a suit jogging at night on the sidewalk?...would you see that as normal behaviour? it was so freaky...

Kelly is really annoying IMO but she has some really funny moments. Same with Toby. With them you can like realize that the character is made to be someone who annoys you. I can’t even laugh at Ryan half the time because I’m too busy hating him.

He issued a formal warning to Jim, issue a no PDA just because of his jealousy and out their relationship, refused to legally acknowledge their relationship, hoped for the wedding to crash
4:06 - The angry glare on Andy's face when he says Toby touching Pam's knee is kinda scary. In his mind he's probably thinking "What the actual f*&$ do you think you're doing? That's my best friend's girl you creep." I don't know maybe I'm reading too much into it.

The reason I never loved the office enough for it to be my favorite show has to be because of the fact they turned Toby from like a normal guy that’s everyone hated and was being like held back into some self absorbed creep, it’s sad how badly they butchered his character
