No one is "expecting ceasefires from the US". People would like the U.S. to advocate for a ceasefire and not block united calls for one in forums like the UN. Israelis want a ceasefire and to have the hostage brought home alive and the Palestinian people want a ceasefire so they can see an end to the causalities and death.
