Immaculate songwriting, melodic/signature guitar solo, forlorn sentiment of melancholia, almost hidden behind the catchy pop hooks and sumptuous sounds. Haunting, if not chilling at times, as its frenetic pacing vaults along and plays mental hopscotch with the sensory. A masterstroke of subliminiation! My favourite song of 2022.
I love how they always make me feel as young as I was when I first heard 'feeling sinister' bout a quarter of a century gone....

Belle and Sebastian ya están aquí para hacerte más llevadero los calores del verano, su pop brillante, sencillo y preciosista regresa con este su noveno álbum de estudio, "A Bit Of Previous". Nos llevan acompañando décadas, siguen fieles a su sonido, sin muchas variaciones, si exceptuamos alguna etapa más disco, así que ofrecen lo que cabía esperar de ellos. Esa es la pega que se les puede poner, el single "Unnecessary Drama" es lo más rompedor, una de sus producciones más alteradas con esos pedales presionados para animar las seis cuerdas, mientras nos cuentan los avatares de un personaje por volver a ser persona. Después en el disco encontramos sus habituales melodías, en canciones bonitas caso de " Talk to me, talk to me", con toda la esencia del grupo. Los escoceses siguen fieles a unas composiciones que invitan a bailar y silbar mientras paseamos por la calle, ajenos a lo que ocurre a nuestro alrededor. Lo dicho, música sin complicaciones, ideal para acompañarnos en momentos de ensimismamiento.

@@iansmith8263 ha ha not at all. It's actually grown on me. If you look back at old B&S videos, they have the same vibe. Quirky, low-fi, and simple. Not that I loved every single one of them lol. But this suited the song. But it's not for everyone.
This version of "Bend it like Beckham" looks weird.
The video is simply amazing! To me, it looks like B & S would have made it just the same if they'd done it themselves :D And the song is brill
Yes it's totally got the feeling of the videos they made in the early days, but I daresay with a load of added pizazz. I ws halfway throigh the video before i remembered hearing that the new one was made by fans. Great humour, loads of enwrgy, fun story, top job

LA MEJOR CANCIÓN de estos dos últimos años sin lugar a duda. De las pocas bandas de hoy día (y de siempre) que no necesitan playback ni ordenadores para hacer música, y por mala suerte hay muchos artistas y bandas que hacen la música de esta forma (con playback y ordenadores) y tienen más repercusión que Belle and Sebastian (ejemplos: Desireless, Milli Vanilli, reggaetoneros).
Conclusión: donde se ponga un buen tema de Belle and Sebastian, Rod Stewart o Bonnie Raitt que se quite el Voyage Voyage, el Despechá o el Nochentera!!! Y menos reggaeton y más Talk To Me, Talk To Me!!! 🤟🤟🤟
