- Eret's redemption arc is one of the understated, but very interesting parts of the SMP. I tried to give this song a very regal feel, since he is a King/Lord. (The harmonies are my pitchy attempt at that)

Seriously! I’m afraid I’m not nearly as talent as Lin Manuel Miranda when it comes to rapping, so you’re going to have to make due with my harmonies 😅
The thing is, you don't have to rap if it's made a certain way. I imagine a few times you will be a background melody, and other times you'll be singing, and vice versa. Some of the songs might just end up being like this one or "I'll be the villain". And plus, if you did learn to rap during the group project, than that just makes you a better musician.
I’m making a playlist! It would be super cool to see an organized musical with a bunch of different people coming together to write, sing, and draw for it!!

The Eret from this song got his wish on Nov. 16th from "I'll let the crown fall off my head" to "I can't change the past, let me help with what I have left"
Can I just say this:
Intentional or not, I really like the voice being quieter then the guitar, to me it sounds like how Eret keeps trying to change and get a redemption arc, but no one quite hears him, they keep going along with their individual plans and eret’s there in the background,
He’s trying to change, but he gets drowned out by the others plans, the loud guitar can be like the others ignoring him
And your voice is amazing!

I can just imagine Eret sitting on his throne while l’manburg is going through it and he’s just like “whoo, dodged a bullet there”
just coming back here today after wilbur and eret apologized properly and hashed things out TWO YEARS LATER and this song is just ringing in the back of my mind. so happy to have even a bit of closure

Can I just have a moment not just to appreciate this song but to appreciate the amazing creator? They clearly spent so much time on this. From the art to every single word, all of them have a meaning (metaphorically). It makes it even better that Eret's trying to be redeemed for what he did but is looking to be accepted by those who where at the time considered the bad guys. I just love this so much. I found this like a couple days ago on a Dream SMP list of songs thingy and oh my gosh this song is just soooo so sooo amazing, always gives me goosebumps and makes me feel something for Eret.
