What a great idea and a pleasure to watch! Thanks Kirby!
Amazing like always, great work kirby!! Love the song also.
Excellent!!!Great Job and very stylish I must say.
El arte de lo simple !!!!! felicitaciones .
Easily my favorite youtuber, keep it chill!!
Perfect Work! Perfect Video!
Great video from a great maker!! You just keep the new ideas flowing Kirby - your magic mate 👍👍☺️☺️
So beautiful! I love the paint on the inside, looks so awesome! I really love to watch your build videos, they are so calm, showing everything, perfect and just.. perfect! Awesome video!! =)
fabulous.... different idea!!! Very Impressive.
What a great idea!!! I have like 20 jars in my basement from the previous tenant. I will certainly look into this during this winter when the snow hits and I'll be stuck at home.
Kirby I cant wait to order a Fawn from you soon. I even got my brother in law watching all of you're videos. Keep up the great work!!! You're an awesome dude. Wish you the best!
Some paracord and heat shrink would finish those wires off nicely. Good job, looks like a fun, easy build.
Thats a great idea! Totally a fun build. Thanks for watching!
I think it should be possible to use a Dremel to make holes at the bottom of the glass so the wire doesn't come out at the top. That would look even better.
Kirby -- I *love* your videos. I've been struggling with a project (a home theater where I want a certain level of quality, aesthetics, and budget) which I'm finding hard to buy. Plus, I really enjoy building my own things and have some experience and tools for woodwork and electronics. That's how I found your channel and have been a fan for the past few weeks. Keep up the great work!
Very beautiful video editing. Great project too ;)
Hey Kirby I just want to say thanks for all the great content. I've been watching your channel for a while now and even though I don't do audio you make me want to start!
Never ever thought that is even possible to create a speaker from a Jar!! What a creative mind you have sir!!
Always a pleasure to watch ^_^
sei il mio mito!!!
you are my myth!!!
Incredible!! Love the idea and the video is a pleasure to watch as usual :)
Thanks so much!
It's true speaker porn. :-D
Kirby Meets Audio nice video..already download the DIY plans! 👍😋
What about a really loud bluetooth speaker build? Something for an outdoor party
Yeah some kickass boombox Kirby!
Dylan Stewart the one i made gets really loud. i took it to work, a 31000 square foot shipping dock and you could hear it all accross it. i mean clearly. the neighborhood behind us could probably hear it lol
Hey , You Did it !
Cool ,lol.
Another great video. Keep it up!
Your videos always inspire me to get to my projects and this year will be a beginning for my projects, maybe even a UA-cam channel.
each video is getting better and better.
Thank you!
So cool!! I love how you painted those from the inside! Where do you get your music? The music in your videos is always so good!
These look suprisingly awesome!
Hey Kirby, how about a standing speaker build for a near future video? I'd love to see your take on that.
Good job, excellent!
Thank you, Rafael!
i love your project 💪🏼
Thanks, Francisco!
Amazing build this time around man
Thanks!
Nother awesome video. Thank for doing a video for something battery powered. It's really cool.
No problem! Thanks for watching, Nicholas.
These look fantastic. Didn't expect to see my favorite DIY speaker brand over there in the USA. ;-)
Thanks!
love the build videos. keep up the good work dear sir
Thanks so much!
Awesome video! Really enjoyed it. You are really inspiring keep up the great work
Thank you, Sean!
Awsome, i didnť expect that they will sound that good :-D
To be honest, I didn't either! Thanks for watching
cool idea!
Thanks!
Cool vid bro. One trick I picked up while soldering is to heat up the wire until the solder melts. You will get a better connection that will last years.
the production value on these videos is exquisite
Thank you, Jason!
The production value of that reply was even more exquisite
Burp Reynolds well played my friend lol
Although now the reply to my reply has arrived I fear we need to reassess our previous praise. Gonna be a long night.
genioo
sick!! making the best videos on these I swear. What speakers did you use on these beautiful mason jars?
nice
Absolutly amazing videos! Craftsmanship and creativ thinking. It would be fun to see you transform a big old suitcase into a partyrocking machine ;)
Nice work and nice video. What sounds the best between glass and ceramic ?
another awesome video by my fav guy !! kirby youre the man..!!!
Thanks, Saif!
+Kirby Meets Audio stay awesome dude !!!
A little idea you might appreciate (and might have already thought of by now): Instead of putting the piece of cloth under the lid, how about instead having a bigger piece of cloth on the outside of the lid and tie it neatly around the top of jar with a piece of string, to give it that classic jam filled Mason jar style look?
That would hide the screws, the piece of wood and the gap created by the lid from the thicker wood piece, not to mention the wire coming out of the top, all while ensuring an authentic look. Perhaps that would also need a strawberry jam red paint on the inside of the jar to finish the look... Oh, and a label saying "Strawberry Jam"! Haha.
Damn, now I wanna make a pair of these! Thanks for the great videos.
You're coming with some really creative speaker ideas! I hope it's not too presumptuous of me to make a request: can we some passive and/or wired stuff? I'd love to make a sound bar for my TV, but don't know how all this works well enough! Regardless, I still look forward to your videos every week!
I absolutely adore your videos! I love them so much, watching them is so entrancing and always makes me want to own the speakers you build, or have the chance to build them myself even. Anyways, really love your work, one of my favorite channels on UA-cam :)
Thanks so much!
Hi Kirby, I always like un-conventional enclosures for projects, just to switch it up a bit. Regular enclosures are cool, too. Always great build videos. Have a Happy Thanksgiving, C.
Yeah! I never really did builds like these until I started this channel. It's so much fun! Thanks, Cass!
Another great build! The artistic production value is great! Love the music, but don't be afraid of a little voice over. For my taste, it's more engaging that way. But I love this project! Have you thought about adding some LED's to the inside of the jar? Maybe come addressable color changing LED's with a small Arduino set up that changes the LED's with the music? That would look amazing through the opaque glass!
Keep up the good work!!!
hey kirby. big fan. lobe ur passion for speakers. could u pls do a video on waveguide speakers like bose and shed some light onto it. is it possible to make them diy.
Спасибо за видео и привет из Москвы ;)
Hey Kirby, how does the bass sound on those if it's only one driver?does it get distorted at all
Do they sound like they're under water or is it just the song? They look great btw!
Hey Kirby. Great Build. One thing I've been playing with lately is covering my connecting wires in paracord. Lots of different colors and designs. I finish off the ends with heat shrink.
Thats such a great idea! After I was finished I was thinking wrapping the cord in fabric would be nice, but paracord is genius! Thanks for the tip and for watching as always
hey Kirby can you show us ideas for a smaller Bluetooth speaker
hey, thanks for the videos. really help me understand how speakers are built!..I'm inspired to make one myself and I was thinking if it would be possible to add a valve pre amp to the circuit? would it be wired in before the bluetooth circuit or after, as the name suggests (pre amp)and how would this look for a wiring newbie like myself,as I'm a visual learner..thinking about a wooden speaker with external power?..is this do-able? please help..thanks.
great job bro
Thank you, Cesar!
you wellcome bro
Is there any way you could provide a freq response curve of the speakers you design? I would like to know what kind of sound I´ll get prior to buying.
for which reason the thumbs downwards? envy? idiots .. Great job! Excellent finish!
when are u going to continue your speaker building guide
Great video as usual love the quality! But I have a small question does placing a cloth tightly infront of speakers not dampen the speaker cone movements? Thanks
There is a raised ring around the outside of the cone that keeps the fabric off the surround of the cone. Thanks for watching!
Cool thanks for you answer :) great background music as usual very relaxing for a video keep it up! Love your builds
It would be awesome to line the exterior and interior with Line-X (spray on truck bed liner). Make it almost unbreakable. I don't know how it would effect the audio though.
the things you can do with mason jars. moonshine, cooking food in the dishwasher, holding nails, and now great speakers lol. i have a question for you kirby. is there a way to bridge two bluetooth amps together? but run off of only one bluetooth chip. i want to do like a surround sound and some how connect it to my tv.
Was the chip you were soldering the wires to the amp? If so, is it the same one you have linked in the description of the video?
Ik im leaving out a lot of information from my end (because idk and dont have my technical specs that well), but how long will the single battery last for?
Alguien tiene idea donde se estudia todo este trabajo?
Estoy enamorado de la fabricación de equipos de sonido!
Kirby Meets Audio if you're using visaton speakers, you might wanna check out the FRS 5 X, veeeery nice sound, been using them myself. But never buy the FRS 5 without the x, that one sucks.
I'll check those out, thanks!
Bro i'm excited that i have found your channel i've taken a look at some of your builds and they are pretty awesome i've wanted to something like this for a while now I have just one
question though is it possible to get a Bluetooth board that is capable of pluging in to the wall. What I am doing is turning an old 1940s radio into a bar with Bluetooth connection so phones can connect and play music from the bar. Thank you so much in advance
hey Kirby, the link for your Bluetooth amp board doesn't seem to be for the one you use in the video??
John Gridley yeah. i get to a bigger board for 2x50w. doesn't seem right. what are you using?
Looks more like this. amazon.co.uk
Is the build kit available for purchase still?
background music is nice
from where do u get your bluetooth circuits
i have that same sander. . . Harbor Freight
... Boa Tarde - Good Afternoon
Glass speakers; Thats a first for me!
Me too! I'm happy the way they turned out. Thanks for watching!
Does the covering fabric affects the sound?
it seems the fabric is touching the speaker.
Hi...can we send design sketches? I drew a sketch for a portable bluetooth speaker but I don't have the tools to build it and I'm really curious about how it would look like.
Have you seen the new Tectonic Elements TEBM35C10-4 BMR 2" Full-Range Speakers? 20 watts max at 8,49 $! I would love to see a speaker build of those speakers. Of course if you like their unusual design...
A blue LED on the inside of the jar would be a cool addition to this build.
Thats a great idea!
where did you solder the power wires from the step up board to the Bluetooth AMP? I'm recreating this build at home but I cannot find the soldering points
MrTufsen7 Kim Positive output of boost converter to 5V of amp. Negative output to the ground of amp. Edit: add a switch between boost converter to amp
What was the reason to use this bluetooth module for the build instead of the one u mentioned in the latest bluetooth board video?
The board I used in this video is powered off 5v, so it can be used with only one or two lithium ion batteries. It's also lightweight and pretty cheap. Thanks for watching!
Kirby Meets Audio what board didnyoubuse the link on the plans is for a complelty diffrent board.
So now where do you put the moonshine?!?!🤔
how can I add music pulsing LEDs to them...?? they will be best best fun item then.
Shubham Patankar depends on what bulb you use. I would use a 150-250 ohm resistor on a normal led bulb. You could also use a uv-meter? If it is more for party, then there is a video out. The video is nicely detailed, so do not woory about that.
Shubham Patankar if you are to use led bulbs, then you must remember to put a new resistor each bulb, or else it won't shine bright at all... Put the resistor on the plus, but you do not need to worry about the minus. You can wire all minus together
What happened to the sound when adding the cloth, and then doing the test?
My amp seems to cut out and not turn on when switched on. Anyone know what my problem is.
is it me or did the test sound terrible?
Hello, yes you are correct I think Kirby only did this as a fun to do project, I am a self educated speaker builder of 30 plus years. I have yet to hear a speaker that sounds good based on a tube as an enclosure, a tube ticks all the wrong box's for good Hifi sound.
Would a wooden box insert help alleviate the acoustic problems with the glass tube Mason Jar?
Sounds like it was recorded with an iPhone which tries to filter and attenuate everything. Creative idea.
what amp do you use
sorry what I meant was what amp would you recommend me to purchase as I'm thinking of getting the JBL gt5-12 subwoofer, JBL cs742 full range speakers and JBL gto19t tweeters
Song?
I like the concept, and it was done really well. But I don't like how the wires were ran, yes I do understand why it was done that way. It's just my opinion, and in now way saying it was done wrong.
umm.. important question. how do you charge the battery?
After watching the build video of Kirby's "Firefly Jar Bluetooth Speaker", which has the same driver, I made a simulation in BoxSim with this kit and designed two possible correction networks to even improve the sound quality. Those networks will fit here as well. Look here in my video: ua-cam.com/video/5aSvS5Ae1As/v-deo.html&index=2 Or on my blog: laubrecher.wordpress.com/2017/11/30/modification-for-kirbymeetsaudios-firefly-jar-speaker
Why not play this sp ??
is it even possible to make a 2.1 yes. 2.1 channel bluetooth portable speaker?? how about something really insane like a speaker with 2 mid range, 2 tweeters, and on sub woofer
please help!! i cant for the life of me figure out how you connected the step up board to the amp????
Battery to input of step-up board then output of step up board to the input of amp. pretty straightforward.
I really wanna make this but all I have is an led and a 9v battery
When do we get 60fps?
I might test that out next build!
Kirby Meets Audio nooo. than i wont be able to watch it on my tablet. stupid nexus
Chickendiner The apps that can lower it to 30fps if you want.
great scott fan eh???
I am lol
I AM TO!
xxx
Kermit does Robyn???
so the battery lasts 2.5 seconds, what sound test lol,but really cool nonetheless.
these arent the same drivers you use.... why is that? also i didnt see you put in an amp at all.
Adrian Elliott what are his main drivers?
Does anybody buy tools from a local store ???????
Would have been better if he used a Ball mason jar.
You are using a bluetooth amp board with an annoying voice prompt. "The bluetooth deevice ees reedy to pehh", "The bluetooth deevice ees connected ah successfullehh". Nice build though.
how many of you actually make this?
