Val here, from the Fogo Island Inn Communications team. This is such a touching video and I feel you captured the spirit of this place beautifully. Love the details, love the moody shots, love the fact you had such an incredible experience here. Thank you for visiting and engaging with what we hope to achieve within the community.

Sam and Victor, thank you for portraying our beloved province so beautifully. You braved the cold April weather well! It’s actually even nicer here on a sunny summer day but it’s so nice to see it through a tourists eyes (or “come from aways” as we call tourists). Highlighting that the Fogo Island Inn alone will cost a minimum of 2575 CAD per night proves that this is not feasible for the average person. However, you can visit the island for a fraction of the cost and still see all there is to offer, from small towns to the main cities. The aesthetic is beyond compare, and I don't want to take away from how healing and beautiful my home is (I've lived here for my entire life), but the cost of the aesthetic you're showcasing here is more than a mortgage.

I enjoyed the video, I am from Lewisporte NL, close to a hour drive to the Fogo ferry. I have been to Fogo a few times, but from what I've heard the Fogo island Inn costs thousands of dollars per night, so I don't think I'll be staying there for a while yet lol.

@@SamandVictor oh it’s a bit of a long story. I’m becoming an adult and developing my own life where I don’t have to do everything my family does or tells me to do to fit in. I still love my family but now just not as close. I would go every year as a kid. But now it’s different

From someone who lives in St.John’s, has family in Gander and is from Twillingate, this was so fun to see! You captured so many beautiful shots. Glad you enjoyed your time here in Newfoundland. Come again 🤍
ps. a kind reminder that our little province in pronounced as new-fin-LAND, as opposed to new-fin-LIND 🙂

I enjoyed your Vlog, I live in Newfoundland and it is a beautiful place, I’ve live here my whole life. There are many small rural communities throughout the island that have unique things to do and beautiful accommodation. We also have unique place names, such as , Heart Content, Joe Bats Arm, Blow me Down, and Dildo.
There are many places to explore here and you are never board.
The weather changes so fast we have a saying, “don’t like the weather wait five minutes“
We could have two or three seasons in a day 😜.
Glad you enjoyed our province, and 2022 is our “Come Home Year”, we hope you come again ☺️.

it was lovely- and I like how airport at st.johns was so peaceful relative to all the stress you get from big city airports! And the people we met in the small town are so welcoming and friendly- they came up to talk to us and gave us coffee shop recs since so many of them were closed. We also went to Joe Batts Arms and Trinity... but didn't feature it much here on the vlog!

Fogo is a beautiful place, my grandmother is from Fogo, I've spent alot of time there over the years! I live in Lewisporte now and that is about a 45 minute drive to the Ferry, id suggest anyone to go to fogo. Although the hotel is very expensive lol

We didn’t get a chance to visit lewisporte this time! And yeah the hotel is $$$ but we also have some family friends who booked an Airbnb and they’re gonna buy snow crab and cook it themselves which sounds pretty bomb too!

Such a lovely summary of some of the great visits to do around Newfoundland. A hot tip on how to say the same of the place from a Newfie: understAND we call it NewfoundLAND! :)
