Recorded with the Harley Benton Custom Line superior E VS

Dan and Catherine Peek
Came for the review, stayed for the music. They is such a huge difference between your talking voice and your singing voice. And one can hear the passion you place into music. It's like it just fulfills you really, and it's great to see!
Awesome, thank you!
I came here for the review and was delighted by the song.
✌️❤️
You are not only a good reviewer but also a great artist!
Thank you!
Holy shit dude. That was awesome. And the song was amazing. Thank you very much.
Thank you for your kind comment. ✌️😊
Great singing! Forgot why I came here for :-)
Lol.. thank you ✌️❤️
Great review from a professional musician. Beautiful music as always.
great review and great recording man. cheers!
Thank you ✌️
That’s a pretty cool song ! I have mine for over 12 years. I replaced the tube with an 12ax7. It sounds the way better. More sweet. Nice video dude!
oh my!! For over 12 years!! That's so awesome ✌️✌️
Great vioce, song and mic, thanx man!!
+Ger Selissen thank you! It's a great Mic✌😀
good stuff Jonathan! the Overall Video and playing super!...but your singing was the topping of the ice cake ( you know what i mean :D)
Cory Mura hahaha thank you Cory! I know what you mean 😊 I have to tell you.. I particularly like your guitar snob video.. It was great! I have had experiences with some of them too.. Hahaha
Wow, you did a very good job ! Thanks a lot.
Thank you Steve ✌️❤️
stunning voice jon and great harmonies
Thank you ✌️❤️
Great video and great song man! Thanks!
You're most welcome!! Gary ✌️✌️
What a great song. I'm going to buy this mic now lol
Thank you 🤓✌️
Nice acoustic you have there :D I have the CLD-41S and is a lovely sounding guitar!
+Che Guebuddha yes ive heard great things about that model!!🤓
Thanks for the video.
My pleasure ✌️❤️
wow, what a great song, I bought a used SCT 800 & SCT 2000 just now - flashed by the massive cases, hahaha - so a great testweekend is waiting now ;-)
Cool!!😄
Nice video thank you very much ! Overall what are your thoughts on a tube microphone vs a Solid state microphones into a Tube Preamp ?
It depends on the quality of the solid state mic and the Tube preamp. I've had good results from a Neumann U87 but then it's an expensive mic. 🤓✌
@@JonIsJustTooLoud thanks for the quick reply. I mean like on the cheaper side obviously. But seem that you can t really tweak or decide how much tube you want to blend with the tube microphone... But you can certainly tweak that with the tube preamp. So i wonder the difference you get. Thanks man i appreciate it !
Such Perfetc Backing vocals........ ( sung by a person that understands 4 part harmony like a language) P E R F E C T I O N xxxxxxxx
Thank you ✌♥
Very helpful review, i just bought the sct 2000 and it has a nice bright and clear sound. Do you use a micshield? I haven't got a proper room for rehearsals covered with absorbers etc and I have a lot of feedback when I raise the gain on the mixer. My speakers are behind the sct2000 but it is a very sensitive mic and gets a lot of feedback in my room. Do you think a mic shield would help ? Thanks
You need to read up about mic patterns..& yes a mic shield will help✌️❤️
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Thank you, I will !! Iam also thinking of replacing the china 12AX7B tube (amp factor 100) with a JJ-12AT7 (amp factor 60) or a Genalex gold lion 12AT7 tube. Some sct-2000 reviews in Thomann claim big improvement in sound putting a JJ-12AT7. Also most people consider the Genalex 12AT7 superior to the JJ 12AT7. What do you think of this?
@@TheExangelus perceived changes are based only on loudness and psychoacoustics. There is scientific proof that replacing a tube is not an improvement to the sound of what it was designed for. People will argue this for eternity, because there are always those who reject the fact that everything humans can hear can be easily measured. I’ve heard all the arguments at this point... but as an audio scientist, recordist, and mastering engineer who designs mics and speakers as well... this is my 20 cents 🙂
Wow! What a beautiful voice! And a beautiful song! These kind of "reviews" are always dangerous... "shit in, shit out" I believe that guy sounds brilliant with a single SM57 next room... Really love that voice! 🥰
Thanks✌️❤️
Hi Jon i love the sound of my sct 2000 but i want a stage mic close to that sound. Do you think a neumann kms105 would be close. Personally my shure beta 58a compared sounds like being under a blanket and my beta87a very thin and harsh. Neither of these compares to the sct 2000 sound. So do you think kms105 or some other stage mic goes close?
I have no idea brother..✌️❤️
Hello Jonathan, nice video and singing!
A question about this microphone and speech - do you think the microfone can handle consonants like "s" and "sh" without sounding strange? Did you ever have problems with that on the SCT 2000?
The sibilance can be managed if you have a great pre amp... Or recording techniques.. The mic itself is not overly bright or sharp to initiate runaway sibilance..
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Thanks a lot! I guess I will look for the Avantone CV-12 for Vocals and my upright piano!
Wauw awesome song! How did you get those Eagles like background vocals?! Did you filter of alot of low end?
Yes.. There's a low cut filter on the mic itself. And I did a low cut filter on my DAW. But not too much.. Mostly around the 300-500hz region
It's all about the performance if you ask me.
Hey Jonathan, thank you for your videos 😊 would you recommend this mic to record cello? Thanks 🎻🙂
Hi Emilia.. Yes.. but for cello, I would prefer the SCT800✌️❤️
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Thank you so much!!! I will check this out. Greetings from Berlin :)
Damn nice! How would you say this compares to something like the Rode NT1-A? :)
Aleksander Djuran I have not tried the NT1A so I would not know. Note that the SCT 2000 is a tube mic. It is different. 😊
I really liked the mic and especially the performance.
Thank you
I'd love to know how it would sound like with a really low voice (like mine). I have the sc.600 and it is great with female singers but not my voice, would you recommend it?
Hi!! This mic has a more pronounced high end.. But it still record the low end well enough. For a more warmer mic.. Try the SCT-800🤓✌️
@@JonIsJustTooLoud thanks a lot
Great voice, great song, great vídeo, congrats. For rap vocals? The sct 800 ir the sct 2000?? Thanks.
800!
@@JonIsJustTooLoud thanks for your answers, you have a really great voice really. The last one is the t Bone retro II?what do you think about that? I am baritone Male vocal so im go with the 800
God bless you.
Godbless!!
Enjoyed your vocals
Thank you !✌♥
Could you please review the t.bone retro tube ii and compare it with the sct2000? I'm wondering which one is better for vocals, acoustic guitars or multi purpose
Well.. You're blessed!! I actually just ordered the retro.. Will put up a review once I have it all setup. 😁
here you go! ua-cam.com/video/gDjdIZo2Fho/v-deo.html
Great playing, Jonathan. What's your opinion 2 years later? Oh, what's the weight of the whole package...mic, PSU, cables? Thank you.
Still my go to mic for acoustic and vocals✌❤
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Thanks for the prompt reply!! I hear that one has to change the tube often, like once a year? What tube have you fitted the mic with? Can you replace 12AX7 with a 12AT7 tube?
@@johnngatho6520 i have not change the tubes for almost 3 years now...you have to check whether the AT7 is compatible...I not sure.
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Thank you, Sir for the reply. I'll do research and act accordingly. Continue to be blessed.
Hello Jonathan, how are you? so i was attracted a few weeks ago by these videoso n the T bone mics and i ended up buying the SCT2000. i just got it and i have to say, its awesome but i find it it introduces this white noise rumble from 0 to 200Hz.....and it just stays there... is this the same for you on your side? if you use it with the a graphic EQ you will even see it pop up like crazy. kinda makes it a little unusable i think.
Might be a fault with the mic...Record the audio as well as the video of what is happening and email thomann.
@@JonIsJustTooLoud thank you for your reply Jonathan. I have already emailed them with the issue. I recorded a small clip so they can hear that low rumble. Does yours not contain this? A white noise mixed with low end rumble from 0 to about 200?
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Jonathan, wpuld it be ok if i emailed you the WAV sample and you could perhaps compare it to yours? Just for peace of mind for myself if possible ofcourse.
I live way too far away from Thomann to have it delivered back to them, so thats why i first want to see if this is normal.
Thank you!
Leandro.. Thomann had a return policy that is quite good. Have you emailed them?
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Hi Jonathan. yeah i have already emailed them and they surely will reply. but i just wanted to see if you also have the same issue or not. that way it would save me time sending it to the guys in europe for a return
Hi , t bone sct 2000 is better like Rode NT1 A for vocal ? thank you ..
I don’t know..✌️❤️
@@JonIsJustTooLoud I have rode NT1 A is nice for home studio ..I am thinking about buying tube mic ..thank you ..
your cover is better than the original ;) one love
Thank you so much!✌♥
@@JonIsJustTooLoud only speaking my truth :)
Hi Jonathan....... Which is your Favourite t.bone mic ? ( you can only pick one ) x
This one! ✌♥
Thanks..............( for the same money, what mic would you buy x)
P.S.... I am looking at buying this mic
@@zoot3607 the SCT 800
Which is better for singing? Like country songs? Sct2000 or sct800?
I would prefer the sct800 or the retro II✌️❤️
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Thank you very much
nice
✌️
Hey Jon you dont use that mic anymore??
It’s still here
No EQ at all? What pre-amps(s). Sounds surprisingly good for such a cheap tube mic! How is it on mid-lows and lowend? So totally works if it's not the best for those applications. Really sweet mid-range and smooth highs. You are doing a low cut on the guitar though, correct? Honestly though ... I'm not listening on any sort of critical listening system right now.
✌🏻❤️
the bit were you showed the product in the start was kinde eh but the song and audio after that was great!
Thank you✌️❤️
The artist inside you is impressive! It's like beauty and the beast, you are not very handsome or attractive, but if you were you would be a world star, there you have the reflection, society wants idols that are pleasing to the eye, a cruel philosophy that relegates great masters to oblivion for apparent handsome icons! But it is evident that you are touched by the true Gods of art. The opposite happens to me: I am very handsome and attractive but I have no voice or talent for music! God should have merged us into one person and we would have achieved glory! Although achieving glory is valuing and recognizing great artists like you!
Do you realize you might as well not use a pop filter if you are gonna put it so close to your mic? It cant work so close.
Yes I do Damien..you might not noticed but I was actually singing over a recorded track for the video. I was adjusting the mic and did not noticed the filter has moved....lol
Jonathan Koh fair enough buddy as long as you know 😀
Damien Green thank you brother for the heads up 😆
