Kullu Manali Highway: One Month After Floods In Himachal Pradesh

Don't come to Kullu Manali and other Himachal Pradesh regions where the weather department has given a red alert. Rain wreaks havoc in the Kullu Manali area. Monsoon does this every year in Himachal Pradesh and other mountain areas but this year this has been crazy.
We have lost road connection to and from Manali.
Several cars were washed in the Beas river and the main Kullu Manali highway is also broken in parts. People lost their hotels and homes too. Never seen such destruction in Manali because of flash floods.

From a civil engineers perspective the roads will atleast take 3years to be ready as govt will issue fresh tenders for contract & this is an optimistic estimate. But from next year tourist can start visiting manali as there are alternate routes although slow but can reach destination
