I enjoyed this so much I didn’t even realize it had been an hour! The ending though...my dad left when I was 6 and I didn’t hear from him for 11 years. He actually did keep tabs on me and my sister as we grew up, but it offended and hurt me more than anything to find out. A distant relative I didn’t even know existed had been filling my dad in on my life through the years; I couldn’t understand how he could talk about me, but never to me. The ending got me.
FUDDLEYP JONES My dad and I have talked at great lengths about the past and his actions. I do understand why he left and I am beyond grateful for the way life happened. My mom handled his leaving beautifully; she never spoke ill of my dad and knew he would contact us again one day, so she left our house phone in service with the same number (he called that same number after all those years). My dad speaks highly of my mother and still loves her. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have both parents, and I see so many great fathers who are being kept from their kids. It breaks my heart for those men. I agree, all you can do is love your daughter from afar and be there when she comes around, and she will. I don’t know if you like to write, but I would suggest keeping an open letter to your daughter and writing in it as often as you think about her. Then one day you can give/send it to her so she knows how much you think about her and wish she was in your life.
Had to read them to make sure I acknowledged everyone who took the time to show some love. And you are very welcome, I busted my ass to make it and am glad I was able to get it out there like this! More to come in 2020!

First special I've watched the whole way through in a while. Great material and perfect delivery. I love conversational style storytelling and this was a masterclass.
2 years later, this dude is still fucking fearless. I loved this special. He's just on the right side of the line we all draw between what we'll tell people and what's actually true about ourselves.
Why did I cry? Oh yeah, because I was a foster kid and I've been fighting against feeling like I had no place in this world since I can remember being sentient. I laughed, I cried... a great time was had overall! Good work!
@@JayLarsonComedy Jay, I loved it so much as well, as you've maybe seen from my multiple comments. Sometimes in the bit you even had that Ricky Gervais look and feel, but with the Larson touch. What I also love about this special is the kind of (this is not a bad thing) culturally centrist POV of it - it felt like you related to the whole world with your words, you didn't overdrown it in Murican or Anglocentric culture, and you acknowledged other cultures apart from the anglocentric (including UK, AUS, US, and even Europe for good measure), what I'm trying to say is: you put your special (if it were a Salad) into a 'Global Dressing' of sorts, and managed to get on the 'relate' instead of the 'generic' path (the latter of which is where most comedians land if the try this route). But with you it comes so naturally, as you try to relate to stuff that everyone no matter where they live can relate to, without you being boring or carbon-copy-feeling in your lines and deliveries for even a single moment. Great job man, you're up there with the greats as far as comedy is concerned. I know you're a very humble guy so don't even feel forced to reply, just take the compliment man - you deserve it :) Would love to see you on Rogan one day, who knows, it coule happen and the two of you would get along great 😁
I only listened to this guy cause of Jo Koy's pod. I had no idea who he is, but that was a great stand up bro. It was structured like a good movie.. Ups, downs, sideways, but feeling something at the end. Great show.
Comedy is often tragedy, in reverse. That's what I want to see, in anything: a real person pulling back the curtains on tough shit, owning it and articulating personal truths that are uncomfortable to admit. I felt like I was watching a dude in therapy. Really funny stuff. Then, it was a Ted Talk. More funny. Then, tears. This should be replicated. This is: going through adversity and hearing somebody else's stories and that creating the impulse to get after your fucking life and quit being afraid. Bravo. Big art. Lifetime follower. First time commenter.
Supposedly plagiarised but that's why I'm here, the viral vid on fb, and I'm running out of comedians to watch, my faves are dead 🤨 no new George Carlin or Mitch Hedberg specials
Thanks man, my favorite too! Appreciate the hell out of you for taking this in. And hope you tune into my podcast The #Thruline each week, gives you a little bit more of me!
Fantastic Jay, We are NOT defined by our parent's bad parenting. We make our own destiny. It takes a long time to get it but when you do then you are able to move ahead and grow up.
Hey Kyle, that means a ton. I think there are some moments in our lives that we constantly have to work at and rebuild ourselves through. Self worth starts from a young age I think, at least for me, I am constantly working at it. I get amazed by people who are able to appreciate themselves, love themselves and be able to feel like they deserve all that they want. Appreciate you sharing!

Feaster Nation I see you! Hope you are Thrulining as well!!!
It only took me two plus years to find this, but it was worth it. Nice work Jay!
Gosh I’m sobbing 😭❤️ You’re so incredibly talented! Made me laugh and cry and feel all of the feels in the best way possible!
Thanks Payton. Self deprecation is a big part of comedy, and this was my version of that!
Jay Larson First of all, holy crap, thank you for replying to me! And also, thank you for being a badass role model and inspiration to me. I’m finishing college just so I don’t hate myself but the goal is to do comedy! Wish me luck and good luck to you!
@@paytonbarnett8641 Hey, Payton! How did everything ever work out!? Hope you're doing well.
Jay you tell a story that comes across true in such a candid manner. And your jokes along the trip that is your story bring light to such darkness. - sincerely your new biggest fan! I hope you come to Canada soon
I love this man!
Thanks Adam, I appreciate you watching! Plenty more out there on all platforms. Hope you keep following.
Had me laughing all the way, until the end, then the tears came.. thank you man! Great show
5 stars, this is awesome, sharing with friends.
Feaster Nation I see you! Hope you are Thrulining as well!!! Appreciate you sharing with friends man.
Watching this stand up, I have never wanted a comedian to get their own sitcom to write and be in more than this dude.
That pushing a shopping cart thing is 100% facts
Gotta spice it up ya know? I post my shopping cart prowess on social media often.
Jay Larson #shoppingcartking
Hysterical!!! I have watched 2 of your specials. Amazing! Thank you
Enjoyed all the way til the end thank you for the laughs
Appreciate that! Hope you continue to follow!
@@JayLarsonComedy we have the same last name so of course lol
First special I've watched the whole way through in a while. Great material and perfect delivery. I love conversational style storytelling and this was a masterclass.
I'm going to save this so I can watch again next Toozdee.
Feaster Nation I see you! Hope you are Thrulining as well!!!
2 years later, this dude is still fucking fearless. I loved this special. He's just on the right side of the line we all draw between what we'll tell people and what's actually true about ourselves.
Jay I fill your pain. The look in your eyes at the end I can unfortunately relate so well to...
...and you're a better man for it 😉 I know that look too well from myself 😅
Why did I cry? Oh yeah, because I was a foster kid and I've been fighting against feeling like I had no place in this world since I can remember being sentient. I laughed, I cried... a great time was had overall! Good work!
great hour, but damn the feels at the end!
Had to build rapport before I got to that. Thanks for watching. More coming in 2020!
I know you're a very humble guy so don't even feel forced to reply, just take the compliment man - you deserve it :)
Would love to see you on Rogan one day, who knows, it coule happen and the two of you would get along great 😁
I only listened to this guy cause of Jo Koy's pod. I had no idea who he is, but that was a great stand up bro. It was structured like a good movie.. Ups, downs, sideways, but feeling something at the end. Great show.
"She was pretty weak" 💀💀
Comedy is often tragedy, in reverse.
That's what I want to see, in anything: a real person pulling back the curtains on tough shit, owning it and articulating personal truths that are uncomfortable to admit. I felt like I was watching a dude in therapy. Really funny stuff. Then, it was a Ted Talk. More funny. Then, tears.
This should be replicated.
This is: going through adversity and hearing somebody else's stories and that creating the impulse to get after your fucking life and quit being afraid.
Bravo.
Big art.
Lifetime follower. First time commenter.
his wife probably slapped him after the show lololol
This is top notch comedy.
He has one of my favorite bits of all time. Check out the unknown caller bit. Absolutely hilarious.
2 bears brought me here
That little bit at the end about your father and self-worth really stuck with me thanks also amazing special
Appreciate you sharing!
when comedy exceeds every other form of communication.
I wish I could tell stories like this, I've always been envious of people at work that can do this.
First 9 mins feels like a burnout dad
i loved it. so funny and very sweet at the end, the moment with your son. really, a great special. thank you.
jay larson special " someone had to say it"
As a self proclaimed comedy connoisseur...you are the funniest comedian of whom I've never heard. I cant wait to share this. Lol
Best thing to come out of Boston in a while
Kris Wage ever heard of bill burr
So many great comics out of Boston, super proud to be a guy from boston who does comedy. I started in Los Angeles but love going back to perform in Boston. I appreciate the love. Obviously you know Burr and Dane but also check out Josh Gondleman, Don Gavin and Gary Gullman, his new special is great and his joke about the abbreviations of the states is amazing!
One of the best sets I've watched in a long time. Hooked me from beginning to end. Wish I came across Jay sooner. Hope you drop another one soon.
Oh god I sleep like that too 😂😂😂
LOL! So many women do I feel. Thanks for watching.
That was a dope hour, risky, edgy, sorrowful an at the same time stitched together at its edges..
You meant what you said at the end.. 👏🏾👏🏾
❤👬👨👦😲😅😪👍
Alternative title: Jay being a bad parent and traumatizing his children
Whaaaaaa!!!!!!
Enjoyed that but wasn't expecting the end of this stand up to be so heavy. My Dad died 2 months ago was kinda hard to watch the end but wow I like this comedian. Never seen him before. Thanks for the upload.
Channel 1 chopper caught up to that hit and run.
They always on their game! Feaster Nation I see you! Hope you are Thrulining as well!!!
I may just be delirious and tired but I laughed my a__ off! He's great!!

Yes sir, listen every week #FTTL
That was so good. Hilarious and profound. Loved it! So glad I came across the Bruce prank call. ❤
The end had me in tears. Who am I?
You're human bro! thanks for watching, that bit took a lot for me to do and I am glad it had an affect on you.
Dude. You are freakin hilarious. And, genuinely made me laugh till I cried. Holy crap. You are like my ‘inside voice’... from parenting to marriage to my MIA dad.
Thank you.
Looks like we got it all in common playa! Thanks for watching nd I hope you continue to support in 2020! New special coming!
YOU really need to change your mind about your daughter and her beauty, she may see this and it could ruin her life
J.Michael, you are a kind hearted man❣ God bless you❣❣ Grace
@@noneofyourbusiness302 God bless you as well and I try to treat others as I would like to be treated and being kind and loving towards your family should be as natural as breathing air! Love your children and treat them like they're irreplaceable
I caught the clap from someone's daughter and their beauty I'm good
My daughter is my Ride or Die for life. I love her more than you could ever know. Part of being a parent is being taken to the brink by teaching your kids. I find humor in everything, that;s my job.
@@JayLarsonComedy all I'm saying is your words may cause your daughter pain. If she see this video before you can explain your view , she may be hurt by your choice of words, Hope you are right, I've found out the hard way your children can misinterprete your meaning
He is better than ever! I have enjoyed every version of this comedian, throughout the years. Engaging and relatable. :) Thank you for your dedication.
