Man, absolutely amazing! I remember watching this here in Australia, and just blessing God for America. Especially poignant only two months after 9/11, but what an anointed way to testify to the world that God had not left America!

It was a Great Performance no doubt!! He told my Pastor he would stay if he wanted him to but he told him to go ahead he would reach more People there!!

Thank you Phil !! Our Nation was terribly wounded at this time right after 9/11. I truly believe our healing process began right here. Blessings on you and your sweet family

Whatsoever you do ....do with thy might for there is no talent in the grave.....If this man does not play the trumpet with all of his might I don't know who does. Great job Phil. Thanks so much for posting.

Phil, this was the right way to open the show that year so soon after 9/11. I saw you live on TV, my heart soared as you played! I know how hard it is to play under so much heat from those lights & the humid atmospheric ambience that a large room full of people creates. Awesome, awesome job! I fell in love with your music when I first heard it back in the '80s and I still love it today. Your heart & your love for our God shines when you sing & play. Way to go!

Pure art. When our nation falls at last--spoiled and self-indulgent, addicted and atomized, bitter and bankrupt, torn apart by those who insisted on continually dividing us by party and skin color and implacable grievance--put this in the time capsule to explain what we aspired to, and occasionally achieved.

The 53rd Primetime Emmys were originally scheduled for September 16, 2001. After 9/11, they re-scheduled it for October 7; but after military action in Afghanistan began, they were finally held on November 4...opposite the seventh and deciding game of the World Series (Fox pretty much spoiled the winners for the West Coast, who until 2010 still watched the Emmys on a delay)!!!!

I have watched this clip a half a dozen times and I am appalled that people sit through such a rousing performance of one of their favourite hymns. I am a Canadian, but I know I'd be on my feet immediately through this song. Americans....

Re;"not paying his own". Please view on youtube "Why Taxation Is Theft" by Judge Napolitano. Or show all of us where the "law" is that requires us to pay a tax on our Wages. See Aaron Russo's "From Freedom to Fascism" also on youtube. If you can't find those give me a reply and I'll share them on your email or facebook accounts. Nobody "takes money from taxpayers" except the IRS and tax accountant CPA's.
