Great video. These boys looked a little down and seemed not to care about overloading the hopper. I wouldn't be very happy either when being confronted with a pile of rubbish like this. I agree with another viewer that there should be mandatory bagging for loose rubbish which hopefully would avoid the mess left behind.
It is mainly for if the Garbos split something. The mess left by residents is the residents job to clean, but some drivers will collect the debris left my residents.

Is it illegal to recycle cardboard in Australia?
They should have at the least swept the rest into a pile out of the way.. They drove off and stuff fell into the road still..

Why is it they rarely use a broom and shovel? It would save a bunch of time and not leave such a mess.
