@@waynesilverman3048 I think policing can definitely be done the right way, this is 100% not it. You can only be arrested for possession you can't be arrested for being under the influence of any drug unless you commit a secondary crime such as driving etc
Having drugs in your possession is a crime under Misuse of Drugs Act. Being under the influence, without another associated crime is not illegal. The arrest of drug users is unfortunately a pointless exercise, there no real support for them. Let me tell you a couple of stories: I worked in a custody suite and we had a civilian drug worker, paid for by public funds working with us covering day and afternoon shifts. We couldn't get her off her arse to speak with some who actually asked for help. Her office in the city received £200,000 funding and they CLOSED their office for the week to replace all the office furniture, carpets and computers. That's criminal.
@@mrdjr6544 Well, clearly the policy of ignoring selfish indulgence and claiming it to be 'addiction' isn't working? A properly enforced law against possession is urgently required . Could have fooled me.
as far as i can recall possession and taking of heroin is still a crime in this country, the longer the police ignore that crime in manchester the longer these people feels justified in hanging around the streets doing so.
Let me tell you a couple of stories:
I worked in a custody suite and we had a civilian drug worker, paid for by public funds working with us covering day and afternoon shifts. We couldn't get her off her arse to speak with some who actually asked for help.
Her office in the city received £200,000 funding and they CLOSED their office for the week to replace all the office furniture, carpets and computers. That's criminal.
How exactly do you stop the problem with drugs in city centres?
@@mrdjr6544 Well, clearly the policy of ignoring selfish indulgence and claiming it to be 'addiction' isn't working? A properly enforced law against possession is urgently required . These criminals are seen by many as poor pitiful victims , well if you really believe that, surely it is better that laws exists where they do not start self indulgence in drugs in the first place !
@@Towerwatson525 Yes, a law. Then lock them all up in prisons full to capacity. Next.
Wow you did really well through all of this! All the best to you from Canada and keep up the great postings!

As hell becomes more a reality the possessed get worse. Take care brother.

“Yeah but you’re causing it in a way” so by filming in public that warrants an attack? Nah I don’t think so
He is deliberately traveling to the area, knowing he will have confrontation. The people in the footage don't wan't to be filmed. As he says in his video, it's how he makes his money. So I would agree, he is causing it in a way.
@@nicholaschip5820doesn’t matter your still allowed to film
It does matter. You are allowed to push in a queue at a pub, but you don't do it because it's a dick thing to do. Just because you are allowed to do it, doesn't mean you should do it.@@nlomas

For the past few months I started to feel a bit home sick after leaving manchester last year. Thank you for confirming my choice was a good one
Now this is content! I hope we somehow end up seeing the original incident, the footage must have been caught by at least one camera
All on the edit. I witnessed a live Charlie video and observed him annoying the film crew in Northern Quarter. One security guard got triggered and ended up losing his job but another guard had a nice 20 minute convo with Charlie on the same video but that was edited out. Positive interactions a no no with security.
It’s a crackhead rebellion 😵💫

Charlie you are an amazing guy on reporting the reality of what has become our city centre. What was once a true picture of beauty has descended into a druggy hell for everyone who lives and works in Manchester.
The only thing missing was banjo music

The Manchester evening news ,gets dozens of letters each week complaining of what's happening in Piccadilly gardens yet those in power do nothing about the situation
Where's mono brow Andy when ya need him?!
What can you do with them though? Prison would do nothing to help the situation and there are literally millions of these people. The prick with the red hair will always be a prick right up to his eventual murder in a dark alley.
The police are told by their masters to pursue more normal types that have something to lose. Clubbers going home peacefully after a night out bothering nobody are far more likely to run a sniffer dog gauntlet then off in the van.
