- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met his Qatari counterpart in Doha on Thursday, after Israel warned it would retaliate against his country for a missile attack last week. It follows a call between US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday in which the two sides agreed to stay in "close contact" as Israel considers its response to Iran.

Iran tries to drive a wedge between the US and Israel. They became rather apt at foreign policy, it seems. I hope Harris will be a more resolute though still considerate president when it comes to foreign policy. Right now the US fulfils its international obligations more due to its corps of experts working in the background rather than presidential leadership. In the long run this can (unfortunately) not be enough.
