Thank you for this segment. Lifetime Bronco fan here, having a sad day. Just so unbelievable. This piece was very nice and made me and many others smile.
@@JJ-vp3bd I've expressed my own suspicions that the needle contributed to his death. If his autopsy is never publicly released then it's a clear indicator.
As a lifelong Bronco fan, Demariyus Thomas will always be the WR that comes to mind when I think of my favorite team. So many great ones over the 53 years, but this young man was always a beacon of hope and sunshine. Then we think about his athletic achievements. GREAT segment Rich, thank you.
Back in the 80's, I read a novel where at the beginning of one of the chapters was a little quote. "You are, what you do, when it counts." In the almost 40 years since I first read that quote, I've tried to live by it. I've never seen anyone put it better. And listening to the story of Demaryius, it was the first thing that came to mind for me.
Not a Bronco fan but DT was one of my favorite players. Always smiling & I saw a segment a long time ago about his mom getting out of prison & finally getting to see him play. I'm glad he got to rise above his childhood & have his mom get to watch him play in the NFL.
It's never too early or late to tell those you love how you feel about them. Thank you Mr Eisen for your heartfelt tribute to Demaryius Thomas. It was truly shocking to learn of his death. As fans we climbed the heights with him all the way to Super Bowl 50 never anticipating this devastating loss when he still had so much life to live. Thank you for sharing & caring about this extraordinarily talented man who also spent a great deal of his time caring for & about others. He will be sorely missed.
I’ll be honest I’m not a Broncos fan, never have been. But even I will admit players like DT and Von Miller were true class acts. Truly he was a good and humble man even in a position others treat as permission to be hideous. Truly his passing at an example of how to be a real man instead of just great athlete is the greater loss. Rest In Peace you’ve truly earned it
My prayers are for Dt and his family and friends who were very much blessed to have such a great human being who touched us all with his love forever with football and as a much better man than an amazing athlete, may he rest in peace he has been called home to be with God rip 🙏❤.
Truly very kind, compassionate, and respectful comments by Rich Eisen about DT's life circumstances and how much he overcame to be a great player and become a great person. A tragic loss to those of us in the Georgia Tech community...
We lost our son in 2009 to an seizure that occured while he was asleep. This also happened to the son of the great Cowboy safety Charlie Waters. It is truly the most horrific gut punch ever to lose a child in any manner, but while they sleep and while they are so young. My son 24. RIP Mr Thomas.
This really put a damper in my day yesterday when I heard the news. I was so shocked and thought about it all day. Appreciate life, you never know when your going to go. 🙏
I'm a Colts fan and seeing Manning leave was such a blow to the team. I get its business. Watching Manning and Thomas together was awesome to see. I always wanted Manning to win more Superbowls even if it was with another team. I really believe that as much as Manning did those Superbowls wouldn't have happened without Thomas. RIP Demaryius, and my condolences to his family and friends.
What an amazing young man a good man I watched him play for the Broncos him and Peyton were magic together! But what made him special was the man he became his good heart the way he gave back to others. God Bless you rest in peace I will always remember you forever!
This was an incredible segment by Rich Eisen! Bey Bey was an incredible player but an even better human being! He will be missed everyday! He was taken from us way to soon! May he Rest In Peace. Sending my prayers to his family. God bless 🙏🏻🙏🏻🤍💛💙🧡
The great ones always go first and I can never wrap my head around it and being a Steelers fan I remember that playoff game very well now looking back at it I'm glad it turned out the way it did he was awesome to watch
Rest in peace young man I really appreciate what you did for my Denver broncos but I really respect how you stood in there in life I'm not so sure I could have done it God took a good one
Thank you Rich. I always enjoyed watching DT. I learned a bit about his through his charitable work. However I didn’t know the the back story that you shared. So sad to see him go.
Thank you for being doing this segment. I love the Rich Eisen Show it really is the intellegent show amongst men yelling at each other. Your a philosopher at heart and really make it show. DT was literally the workhorse for everyone such a warrior. RIP DT. HOF.
Not a broncos fan, but I remember him being a consistent & reliable big play guy. I completely forgot about his mom seeing him play for the first time. Thank you Rich for reminding me of that. I now remember how happy they both looked even though I didn't understand the whole situation.
The football world lost a very good player and a great representation of the sport and overall a good human being all of us die hard football fans are saddened by this 😢 Rest in Paradise Demaryius Thomas
Thanks for doing this Rich, super cool. I was the same class as Bay Bay at Georgia Tech. What's cool was the coach who recruited him, Chan Gailey, was fired after our freshmen year and then hired Paul Johnson and his option offense. Schools tried to paoch him and get him to leave but he decided to stick it out and had an amazing career at GT. He single handedly brought GT back into the game at the 2009 ACC Championship. Caught a WR and with a single stiff arm went like 60 years for a TD. Sickest stiff arm by a WR in the game. RIP Bay Bay
Life can be awfully short. Make the most of it while ya can 💯 Respect for not putting your standard "hey, ya stayed til the end... thanks for that" at the end of this one. Classy move, guys. 👊🏻
It’s interesting. DT was one of those players that was so good that you noticed him for his play and talent. But he was so soft spoken and about business that you only occasionally thought to yourself, “hmmm, not a Broncos fan, but that guy’s cool”. Maybe the lesson is to notice those guys who are solid citizens and give them the attention they deserve. Rest in peace.
Didn’t know about DT’s story or he had passed until now. Not a broncos fan or a Gtech fan but this made me tear up quite a bit. I’m going to go hug my family now.

The life he lived, the character he became along with his achievements are inspiring, gone too soon.
It's remarkable that he had the spirit he had despite his early life. Most people with that background would have been scarred for life.
