Kentucky adds FDU transfer Ansley Almonor

- Mark Pope’s roster is nearly complete. The Kentucky men’s basketball head coach has added the 11th piece to his debut group for 2024-25.
On Thursday morning, Fairleigh Dickinson transfer Ansley Almonor commitment to the Wildcats, according to his agent Trevor Harris of Devore Sports Group. The 6-foot-7 forward met with Pope and the UK staff on Saturday through Zoom and arrived in Lexington for a visit on Tuesday. He’ll have one year of eligibility remaining.
During the 2023-24 season for Fairleigh Dickinson, Almonor averaged 16.4 points and 5.1 rebounds in 32 minutes per game while shooting 43.6 percent from the field, 39.4 percent from deep (on 7.4 attempts), and 80 percent from the line. He started 31 of 32 games played.
I would say the 13 floater spot is waiting to see about Robinson.
Is Walker Horn going to walk on again? No one has said anything of his status at Kentucky.

Im ready for next season. Definitely ready to see the Arkansas game. Go big blue. Building a team. Not a one man, go and show. Excited about coach pope and what he has brought in. 5star means nothing to me after back to back losses in first round. Time to hang some sec and ncaa banners. 😎
2022 uk made it too the 2nd rd, and those 5stars are the best possible players out of HS. We tried a portal heavy team in 202 (shiebwe, wheeler,reeves,toppin,etc). We will see if pope goes farther than Cal in the tourney, thats why the change was made. He will be held to the same standard. 1or2 years of not doing well in the ncaa & his job will be on the hot seat. He was hired to win xhampionships not spend time rebuilding.
Doesnt look like FCS teams put much emphasis on time in the weight room, at least here. But lets hope the adjustment to the play in the SEC isnt too much of a problem.
Why is nobody reporting on Jaime Vinson who is visiting UK next week.
